Precision shooting.. who here has scored using this in an online match?

I thought this would be an absolute gimmick in FIFA this year but to be honest it's not and it's a lot more difficult than people think. this feature was actually done right by EA surprisingly as it rewards those with greater skill who have master it to gain an advantage on the competition.. but I have yet to even come across someone online to even score like this yet. Of course seen it on plenty of fifa youtubers and twitch and the shots look amazing to me but man I am still searching for my first goal using this

basically here is what i know about it.. it's only best to even try to use precision shooting on headers, volley's and long shots from outside the box when in stride...

I get that.. but with that said.. I have yet to score a goal yet in pro clubs using it. it's a lot more difficult than I ever thought it be..

the only reason I keep it on.. because it's the only way to score the absolute most amazing goals seen in FIFA 19. with that said.. you don't need to use this at all to be very good at FIFA.. but I would like to finally be able to get to the point where I can score a few amazing goals using this..

has anyone here managed to successfully score any crackers using precision shot online in FUT, Seasons, CO OP, or Pro clubs yet?

and if so.. any tips ?

If you're talking about the new timed finishing mechanic, yeah I've scored tons from it. In fact, as things are now timed finesse shots are the most OP thing in the game. If I try, I can score 2-3 goals per match if I cheese them. It's a big problem and quickly becoming the online meta.

Aside from the finesse shots, yes it's implemented well, and even a perfectly timed finish will not always equal a threatening shot. They need to fix the finesse shots asap but otherwise it's great.

but what is the secret to time it properly? yeah it might be op but it's not that op considering me and most everyone i play with have trouble doing it... I would say for those who master it.. well done but it's certainly not easy

maybe once I figure it out it will be... Do you just got a feel for it?

I seen that you just time the second button press about when the player is about the strike the ball.. and I can never perfectly time it seems. I also used the meter above my players head for help. DO you use that or not?

there is a fix for that in the new patch that's coming out to fix the finesse shot animation when your doing a regular shot... not sure if that is what you're talking about that but they did address that in the patch according to their release notes at least. I will wait to see when it hits PS4

You're correct, with the exception of finesse shots. In general, yes, timed finishing is difficult to master however that's not the case with finesse shots, and that's why it's the number one way to score from open play in multiplayer.

The problem is that unlike other types of shots, the timing with timed finishing with finesse shots is always the same. So once you get down the timing of the second press of the shot button, it's the same every time and can be easily exploited.

As I said, I can usually score 1-3 of these per match if I try. And no, I do not use the meter.

The issue that is being fixed is that you'll hit the shoot button but instead of striking with the laces you'll get a side footed shot. That's what's getting fixed with the first patch; nothing to do with timed finishing.

I turned off timed finishing since I use manual, it seems to mess up shooting if it's turned on.

How so? It's an entirely optional so how would it mess anything up.

To each's own, just know that you're missing out on some of the best shot animations in the game, both in terms of high quality and low quality scuffed shots.

Plus there's not a much more satisfying feeling than scoring a banger timed finish to win a match at the end.

I usually am able to time it up pretty well, i havent really tried a lot of shots from distance though so i cant comment on that. The thing that frustrates me from time to time is when i want to just get a quick shot off and instead it takes a while letting the defense recover and easily block my attempt.

I kinda forgot to try this until I read this thread, so I hit skill games and practiced. Played online friendlies and scored a few, including a late winner with Vardy after he finally got in behind. Had been trying to do that all match, haha. Also buried the trophy clinching goal with Luis Alberto after I put him through with a defense splitting lob.

These were both finesse shots, but nothing fishy about them. Seems like it might be a little easier, but I tried several others and it's far from automatic, at least on manual shooting. Oh and the scuffs and misses are fantastic!
