However in FIFA19, I feel like the counter press is too easy to break. The CPU just sends the nearest three players to the ball without effectively blocking passing lanes. Many times I can just pass my way out of it and then it's off to the races against their back defensive line. Unfortunately, there's just no good team coordination making it not a very viable tactic in this game.

"Press after possession loss" Counter-pressing or gegenpressing
How well do you guys think the "press after possession loss" defensive tactic works in this game? It is marketed as a way to combat teams that love to sit deep (park the bus) and hit opponents on the counter. For those unaware, as soon as possession is loss, your team immediately tries to win it back by some combination of pressing the opponent with the ball and also simultaneously blocking quick easy passes. It's a very common tactic in modern football and used by many top teams like Liverpool and Man City.

I think it can be effective if it's user controlled but I would have to agree that it's very easy to counter the cpu.
Every tactic has a counter tactic so if you play possession and the cpu is using high pressure you'll struggle at which point you just switch your offensive tactics to balanced or long ball and then it becomes very easy to counter.
Overall not very good.
