decent amount of stuff to chew on there
- all the stuff about 1v1s sound great, specially the strafe dribbling
- "lofted" passes by double pressing pass and through pass could be very cool. there are many times where I wish i had something like that, eg. in a 2v2 situation when i'm trying to thread a pass through the defenders but im sure a regular pass will get intercepted and a lob pass is too high/harder to control/takes longer. This lofted/dinks could be useful at breaking through tight spaces
- "hard tackles". I've always thought tackles should have somewhat of a power bar just like passes. it seems thats not the case here as it's only binary between normal and hard tackles, but hey its more variety than before.
- Jockey & Agile jockey. More modes for your defendsive stance is great. gives you more tools to combat attackers and should help in these 1v1 battles.
- im unsure about this "set-up touch". look like it could take too much time to wind up to be useful
- i'm not liking what im hearing the dead ball system. just having full control over a recticule like that to aim wherever you want... it doesnt seem like it would provide much satisfaction. And the controls for applying spin look weird. the whole thing just seems convoluted and unsatisfying to me. but ill see.
- They removed no touch dribbling. what a damn shame. that feature was absolutely golden in fifa 16. but they nerfed it to pointlessness in the sequels and now they just outright removed it for this "set-up shot" thing. No no no.
Look at this video I posted recently which features no-touch. watch the clips from 1m34s to 1m50s. no touch allows you to control space through just letting the ball roll , and to feint the ball to confuse attackers. it's a very vital part of real football and is used all the time. you don't always want to be taking touches of the ball in real life. often you just want to let it roll and chose your moment to touch/dribble the ball
