I'm fine with whatever they do. Doesn't bother me, and in fact I kinda think the women's gameplay is actually better.

That said, where's the demand? On social media, reddit, the EA forums... I see no one asking for it. Combine that with the low numbers of people who actually have played it, and no surprise they haven't really touched it since it was added.

Also, have they added any new face scans, players, and teams since it was added to the game?
Yeah I kind of like it too. It's much slower and 1v1 against a friend it's pretty good. Played a bunch of WWC games this summer.

Don't have a PS4 anymore so if the trophies have percentages, feel free and post them.

FIFA 16 - First year they added Women to the game. I do not think I had made the move to next gen and/or was a PES year for me. Should be the most people to play a game with Women. If someone had the game on the Xbox One, look it up and post results.

      FIFA 17
      Play a Women's football game - 12.63%
      Win the Women's International Cup - 1.46%
      Score 5 goals in a women's football match - 4.05%
      Score a goal with a Flair Shot in a women's football match - 0.59%

FIFA 18 - Took a break from FIFA for PES so if someone else has the data post away.

      FIFA 19
      Play a Women's football game - 17.61%
Win the FIFA Women's World Cup[emoji769] in The Journey - 4.67%
      Score a goal with a Flair Shot in a women's football match - 0.78%

Numbers are pretty poor, especially for FIFA 19, a year of the World Cup and the popularity of the Women's team. Only 17.61% of gamers played a single game with them. Also this is based of the numbers as of today, so it includes the timeframe of the World Cup and the weeks after it.
I've never really bought achievement percentage numbers in video games as being legit. I've seen some strange percentages through the years. I'm sure we all have.

That said, I for sure believe that hardly anyone plays with the womens teams. Especially outside the US. People can blame the lack of modes the same way people can blame lack of major TV exposure for women's club soccer not being popular. Can always make excuses.

Overall its pretty simple, a Women's standalone FIFA game (World Cup or national leagues) wouldn't be profitable. Sure the USWNT was pretty popular this summer with their controversial celebrations against Thailand, and their comments against Trump, but it was a one month event and the general American casual fan will start to forget about the team when the big sports leagues start in September to November. Maybe it would be possible if all the best players in the women's game played in the same league similar to the big North American sports leagues (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB).

Anyway I have no problem if EA decides it wants to add more content for women's football in future FIFA's. It likely wouldn't hurt any other game mode development, and it may give more exposure for the women's game. I'm sure thousands of female gamers would appreciate it too.

I don't see anything wrong with women being included. I loved playing the women's teams in FIFA19. However, a separate game is complete nonsense. Maybe they can put some national competitions in there, but what's there is fine. Plus, any gameplay improvements to that game will frustrate fans.

Coming out with new "career" options and mentioning creating female coaches and having a new lounge background is... not what I was expecting at all. It already spoils that there aren't going to be many gameplay changes and it'll all be cosmetic. A pity. (though there is morale I guess)

The whole WNBA thing is also a weird reaction, but that's what you get when you communicate this way: (" I’ve seen first-hand the hard work they’re doing to make this as real and authentic as possible to women’s basketball"). Yes, the league means little. That's why it's cheap to acquire, and it might also serve as promotion for the sport, similar to the female teams already there. I watched one world-cup match this year, but I wouldn't have if I didn't know the players. So a small part of the Women's WC success is due to FIFA.

Re: A Case For Women's Soccer in Video Games

            First Post!

I have an idea for integrating the women's soccer game into FUT. First, you have a men's FUT and a women's FUT but when you earn coins or packs in one mode, you earn them in both modes (EA did this with packs for one of their men's World Cup things they did with FUT, where if you bought packs for your world cup mode you would earn a comparable pack in regular FUT).

Next, you have objectives/goals in each individual mode that crossover to the other. One idea is to reward Division Rivals progress (or online seasons, if they go that direction for the Women's FUT, as it's simpler and doesn't require as robust a player base) with a form of tokens that can be redeemed for squad builder placeholders. For instance, playing 20 games in the women's FUT would net you 20 points (for sake of argument), plus 20 for each division you get promoted to. Then you redeem 80 of your points in the men's FUT for, say, an 83 OVR player with generic ICON chemistry (orange links all around and no country) that can be plugged into any slot (flexible position) in an SBC. Completing games and such in the men's FUT would reward you in the women's SBC's, all the while you earn coins in both modes but the economies are separate in the sense that you can't use women's FUT money on the men's FUT, so you don't have to choose which FUT you like more, and it strongly encourages you to use the women's FUT coins ON women's FUT, because you can't use it anywhere else but you can earn it in the men's mode.

I think people would definitely play the women's FUT with this model for two main reasons. One is obvious: people like rewards and if you give people a substantial incentive to play something in 2019, people probably will. Second, diversity of game modes is always called for with vigor and even though the women's FUT would be separated a good deal, it's connected in terms of economy, I can easily see people hopping over for some women's FUT action on Sunday night after they have finished their FUT Champions games, or if Division Rivals ends tomorrow and you are Rank 1 with no hope of going up a division, why not just plug some Women's FUT online seasons to help you finish that SBC.

Anyway, just thought of that. Seems plausible to me.
