Has anyone seen whether this will extend to Career Mode when it comes to generic players? They do a somewhat decent job of creating reasonable generic likenesses, but being able to edit all generics to make them even more accurate would be a huge improvement.

Will Generic Players be Editable?
Some of the prior FIFA 20 news involved further customization of Pro Clubs players, as well as managers in Career Mode.

No, you still can’t edit player in career mode. In fact, editing players in career mode will be a pain this year. Volta might be the only reason I buy FIFA 20. Career mode is disappointing once again.

Re: Will Generic Players be Editable?
I can't for the life of me understand why you're not allowed to edit generic players. You can in PES so it can't be anything to do with licenses and even being able to just edit the regen youth players would be a start.
Why can't I change the name and appearance of a completely fictional player? Doesn't make any sense.Comment

It's just ridiculous. The amount of incompetence the Career mode team shows every year is just unbelievable.
Even these little things which would probably be a 2-3 hour job for one of the devs is something they can't get done.
It drives me crazy! Imagine what a somewhat competent team could do with career mode if they'd just open it up for the community a bit so we can edit some stuff that EA messes up.Comment

Re: Will Generic Players be Editable?
You should be able to edit any player even real players (within certain limits). There's no reason to not be able to edit a fake player though... face, name, physical stats, kit and attributes all should be on the table. For real players be able to change attributes and kit setup. It goes without saying this would only extend to offline but who cares what I'm doing in my single player offline mode."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

Re: Will Generic Players be Editable?
You can edit players in FIFA! In the main menu you can do this that and the other, and then in Career Mode it's all locked off! Why!Comment

Re: Will Generic Players be Editable?
Because some dinosaur at EA really doesn't understand what their customers want and what customer service is. Things like that make me so mad. The FIFA community has asked them to open these features for career mode for years.
There is really no point to look them for offline modes! The Community could even fix a lot of the **** that EA isn't capable to do (faces, realistic player ratings & development, transfers etc.).Comment

Re: Will Generic Players be Editable?
You can edit player to some extent in CM, you just have to buy the “edit player” thing from the EAFC catalogue using fifa points.
Don’t think you can edit faves but numbers, kit styles, boots, etc...
Yeah seems like a no brained that this should be in.

Why is the squad number part blocked? You can edit squad numbers in 'edit player' in the main menu, but they lock it off in career mode. I'd love that being in there because Spain for example all first team players have to be 1-25, keepers are always 1, 13 or 25, but then you get Neymar signing for Real Madrid and wearing number 35. It just would add to the realism for those who care and it seems like such a simple thing, surely it's harder to have it locked than to just copy and paste the same edit mode from the main menu into career mode with nothing locked.Comment

Re: Will Generic Players be Editable?
You can edit stats I think in the edit mode in Career, but you can't edit anything about appearance (other than boots, I mean face or hair), you can't edit the squad number, you can't edit position or age or anything.

Really?
I thought you could always edit squad #’s?
Wait, are we talking ‘19 or ‘20 beta?

Re: Will Generic Players be Editable?
Not played any FIFA 20 at all yet but in every previous FIFA you go into edit player in the main menu and you can edit squad numbers but in career mode you can only edit the numbers of your own team (I'm just realising that might be where the confusion is, I'm talking about having the ability to edit your own players and everyone else). You can unlock edit player in career mode but the squad number is locked for all other teams, along with most other things apart from boots and kit styleComment

Oh ok gotcha now.
Yeah it sucks when a big name player moves, say Neymar, and he’s out there sporting a squad number like 34 smh.
