What exactly are mods?

How do they work and where do you download from?

Do you simply download them and they do all the work, or do you have to do anything in game to get them to work?

How much difference do they make to FIFA gameplay?

There are all types of mods. Some change kits, add/fix features in CM, some add teams leagues, some are just cosmetic.

I just searched Reddit to see what mods people were using.

Short version to install them you download a program called Frosty and install them via that, then they basically work on their own from there. If anything special needs to be done most modders have instructions included if you run into issues.

Yeah like I already mentioned not all mods change gameplay and what they change depends on which mod you download. The ones I've used have made subtle changes to fouls, physicality and speed.

Do you just google Frosty and download the program? I just got my first gaming laptop today and I would like to download mods to update presentation, custom transfers and the like. I am currently downloading FIFA from Origins, is my next step to download Frosty and then go from there?

They both have instructions on getting things up and running. It's pretty straight forward once you get the hang of it.

Yet another new mod. All these mods are really keeping me invested in FIFA this year. I had all but given up on the game.

Anyway new mod EEP 20. Pretty cool it adds some national teams, some of the German 4th tier which also expands the DFB Pokal and are playable in CM, the FIFA Club World Cup is now in the game among other additions. Haven't had a chance to dive into fully but so far looks solid. I also tried the empty stadium mod that comes with GFX Deluxe which was interesting not to hear any crowd noise.

Think I might start a CM with the EEP Mod and see what I can do with one of the new German teams.

Yes, today was my first day playing with them. I downloaded the two you posted earlier that Paul made. I think his realism mod is great, the few games I have played were better than any I played on the PS4.

I am still getting the hang of the PC so I'm mostly messing around right now.

From what I can gather EEP and Infinity changes the same files so they can't be used at the same time. The other mods work together.

Every time I try to edit national teams with Croatia ( put modric in ) it crashes

It's going to be the same as what's released for PS4/Xbox One. PC won't be getting the "next-gen" version of FIFA 21 at any point. With that sorry excuse for a trailer though it's tough to say what, if any real difference there will be yet.

Does it really matter? I'm new to PC gaming but it sounds like with mods you can pretty much make the game as good as you want.

I feel like FIFA20 is good enough graphics wise that a little improvement in gameplay from mods and some better transfer logic it is a game I can enjoy for a while.
