Re: How is Your Career Going Fifa 21

In an absolutely insane 2024/2025 Champions League Finals between Manchester City and Hamburger there were no shorting of story lines.

The face of the club for Hamburger through the years 2021 to 2024 Josh Maja was transferred at the begining of the season to Man City. He went on to have an amazing Champions League and was determined to show his old team that they made a mistake selling him. This was apparent as he scored in the 28th minute after a passing gaffe by the Hamburger defense.

10 minutes later Aymeric Laporte would pile on by header after a corner kick making the game 2-0.

After halftime coach Juan must have given the best motivational speech ever as Hamburg came out with reckless abandon scoring 3 times in the first 15 minutes of the second half. Two of the scores coming from season MVP Myron Boadu who broke all scoring records for Hamburg. The other one coming from Julian Draxler who has been a stabilizer figure for the team after being picked off free agency back in the 2021/2022 season. Unfortunately, this will be his last season with the team but what a way to cap off an amazing run in Northern Germany.

Hamburg's celebration would not last long though, as Raheem Sterling would score a screamer in the 69th minute. Beginning a 10 minute run where it looked more likely City would score the winner. But against all odds in the 82nd minute after a sequence that saw City have 4 straight corners, Hamburg would go on the counter attack and Boadu would find Xavier Schlager who scored what would be the winner for the new European Champions.

This caps the comeback of the European giants of the past and sets up what can become a dynasty as many young players might be peaking to start replacing some of their older teammates hopefully giving this team the longevity and consistent run of success it deserves.

Re: How is Your Career Going Fifa 21

Well unfortunately thw latest patch has really increased the level of difficulty for my skill level and I can't win. I barely get any shots now. Denmark was beating England 2-0 within 10min.

Soo I am unfortunately going to have to pause my CM with West Ham and England national team while I figure something out.

I am just good enough for world class, and had to work up to that while on pro for a while. With the latest patch I'll first run some test matches with mismatched teams on Pro and see how it goes. Hopefully that is all I will need to do in order to get those competitive games I was having before the latest patch.

The fix on interceptions is killing me lol...I will have maybe 3 shots for a match while they are 12-15 easy. Hopefully by tonight I'll be set and can reboot my CM maybe late tonight.

The transfer window has come and gone. West Ham made some moves for sure.

One rule I use is if I buy a player then I must sell players to refund as close to 100% of what I spent.

I went out and bought Kevin Mbabu for $41mil and is now my starting RB. Another rule is to only sign one starter in January so he was all I could get. But, with only 7mil left after him I couldn't afford anyone else.

I sold RM Yarmolev(sp*) for 10mil. Ogbonna for 7mil. I also sold Snodgrass for 5mil after deadline. Sold a couple random lower rated. Need to sell off around 15mil still. Sooo...I decided to place RB Vladimir Coufal on transfer list.

Mbabu is starting RB and much much better than Coufal for sure now I have played a bunch of games with him.

No offers yet but he is 14.5mil...the release clause of 29.4mil worries me. Idk if that effects a transfer.

If I can't get him any offers I'll have to go with my starting LB Masaku as second option. We'll see!

Soucek is still out for another week or so. He should be back in the starting 11 by March. I play using the 4-4-2 flat formation. My top starting 11 is:

        ST- Antonio, Haller
        LM- Felipe Anderson
        RM- Bowen
        CM- Soucek, Fornals
        LB- Masuaku
        RB- Mbabu
        CB- Rice(Cpt), Diop
        G- Fabianski

An up and down month for us. Beating Man city 3-0 in 3rd round of FA Cup to begin the month felt good.

        2-1 Win @ Leicester

        2-2 Draw vs Southampton

5-0 Loss @ Man City...I was only down 1-0 at half so score doesn't show that. Overall I was dominated however.

2-0 Win vs Northhampton (FA Cup)

        2-0 Loss vs Man United

West Ham have fallen to 13th on the table with 33pts now. Liverpool running away from everyone it appears. I will easily stay out of relegation but a top 10 will be the goal this first year or two.

Leeds STILL with only 5 points with a 1-2-22 record. Crazy they are so bad in my season. Sheffield and West Brom other bottom three currently.

Next update will be after March!!

        February matches:

        @ Aston Villa (12th; 35pts)

        vs Chelsea (8th; 40pts)

As I like to do my career mode as realistic as possible I notice that there is no winter ball for the EPL!? Usually you have to go into catalogue and buy it with the fifa XP or whatever but this year there is no catalogue! Does anyone know if the winter ball (PL Hi-Vis 21) is coming?

Darren Bent Manager Career Mode (2020/2021 Sunderland A.F.C)

Fresh off retirement from Derby in July 2019, Darren Bent is making his return to football. This time as a coach. Sunderland A.F.C have come calling for the former Black Cats star. Although he only played 2 seasons with Sunderland, they were memorable. In 58 games he scored 32 goals. He is regarded as one of the best strikers to play for the team and unfortunately he left on less than amicable terms, handing in a transfer request to make the move to Aston Villa in the middle of the 2010/2011 season. Although he played another 8 seasons, for 6 different teams, he never returned to the same form he had with Sunderland. In a team introduction press conference Bent stated " I am excited to come back to a club I have extremely fond memories of." He continued, "I have unfinished business here in Sunderland and this time I plan to finish it properly."
Ownership has given Darren ultimate backing and said they hope to see the Sunderland legend help get this team back to where it belongs. Only time will tell, but we can assure you it will be quite the ride, as always with Sunderland A.F.C

A rough start to the managing career of Darren Bent as he lost his first 3 matches in charge including an embarrassing 1st round Carabao Cup defeat to Brentford 1-3. A closed locker room meeting between Bent and his team turned things on it's head however and the team was flying, winning their next 4 to end the first month of the season in 5th place with 12 points.

Re: How is Your Career Going Fifa 21

In my 2nd year at Dortmund I won the DFB Pokal and won the 2-team race between myself and Bayern for the Bundesliga title. We also beat PSG in the Champions League title game to give us the treble.
Going into my 3rd season I'll have my entire starting 11 back and a $200-million transfer budget without any real holes in my squad to spend it on.

I'm debating 3 options moving forward:
                1. Go 1 more season at Dortmund to attempt to win back-to-back trebles.
                2. Start a CM with my hometown Columbus Crew in MLS.
                3. Start a new CM with a lower league English team.

I decided to start my next CM with Paris FC in the French Ligue 2. I did go with a $10M financial takeover so that I could afford some good scouts. I justified it with myself as that $10M is pennies compared to the financial takeover of PSG by Qatar.
Hopefully the added funds will have been well spent and my youth scouts will start finding me some top prospects.

I am going to ATTEMPT to look past the gameplay issues (CMs not tracking back mainly) and do a journeyman career mode. My American manager landed his first job at Vancouver Whitecaps. Our youth academies are up in running in the US Canada and Mexico and we are scouting heavily in South America as well. First game was a 4-2 win.

After a couple years I will look to take my next job somewhere like Celtic or rangers in Scotland.

I'm into Year 4 of my AC Milan franchise and my youth players are starting to develop to the point where they're getting a lot of regular games.

I am having a blast so far with Newcastle United. I have conceded 20 goals in five matches, but also lead the league in scoring with 12 goals despite being (0-2-3).

Is it even possible to play defense in this game. I get near the opponents box and there is a defender all over me. My opponent comes towards my box and the defenders just hang out and watch them score. And forget about playing teams that high press, i never have the ball and it is a goal fest for my opponent.

Thank god I didn't pay full price for this game.

Seems like sliders are useless for defense.

I actually can’t even play legendary difficulty this year because the defense is so bad.

An update from my Newcastle Career:
Lost in the Carabao Cup to Everton 5-3, then followed that up with a loss to Chelsea 8-4. Chelsea had previously scored 8 goals and allowed only 3 in 6 matches before coming to Newcastle.

This game is so much fun and wide open. If only the AI players understood defense at all.

We stand in 19th position at (0-2-5, 2 pts) scoring 17 and allowing 32. We are second in scoring behind Man U (22) and have allowed the most goals by a margin of 13.

I am ready to throw this is the trash.....

Which console are you playing on and what difficulty? Are you manually controlling defenders?
