Just picked it up today. Installed it. Played a league cup match but rosters weren't accurate now waiting on all the patches to download then start again and hopefully rosters will be updated and third kits will be added and that Adidas All Star Glitch will be gone.

Played a game last night, felt pretty good, although I have no idea why they would increase the distance the ball travels on deflections.  It already felt unnatural in my opinion, but oh well, that's EA's idea of ball physics I guess.

Tried to play on World Class again last night and got absolutely dismantled by an inferior team, lol.  Hopefully one of these patches will eventually shift the difficulty around enough for me to find one that suits me.  Seems crazy that I could be winning by 4 goals on one level and losing (emphatically) by 2 goals on the next one.  I guess for now I'll go back to Pro and try Full Manual again.

Anyone had issues with joypads randomly not responding and players becoming comically sluggish mid-game for a few minutes before returning to normal? Keeps happening, tried 3 different pads and same result, nearly smashed one to pieces..

Yes. Normal passes going in the opposite direction of where I aimed them (PS4 Pro).
And since I have played tiqui-taca style football on the same platform in Fifa 17 for years, I think that I have a pretty good idea of where I am aiming.

Fun moment in one game I played since the latest patch:
My center back clears a corner with a header, straight to my striker, who stands in midfield and promptly sends a header back into my own box, where a CPU forward converts it directly into a goal with a volley.
Into the near post corner, of course.
I sometimes wonder, if the EA creators have ever seen a real football match.

Fun moment in one game I played since the latest patch:
My center back clears a corner with a header, straight to my striker, who stands in midfield and promptly sends a header back into my own box, where a CPU forward converts it directly into a goal with a volley.

I actually thought EA addressing ball physics was a nice step in the right direction. Look at the example they showed:

Look how unrealistic it is. The defender blocks the shot and controls it in a second. It looks SO MUCH better after the patch:

What do you mean?

I'm just going off the video I linked a few posts before.

He probably means clearing the ball with the shoot/pass button so not really a deflection. It's how fifa disregards physics in favor of "user input".

On the topic of scripting in career manager mode:


I have now started the first leg of my Champions League qualifier four times from my save. With a low tier team from a mid tier league, with which I managed to win the national championship in the previous season. The qualifier is against an admittedly better team, but not by much. I rested my key players on the weekend before that, they still had sharpness around 90 and fitness 100, all of them.
All four times, I managed to take a one goal lead, all four times, I held it until the 89th minute, all four times, the CPU team was awarded a penalty in the 90th minute, when I tried to clear the ball, which was right in front of my defender's feet. They scored the equalizer from the penalty.
Also, all four times, I then managed another good attack in stoppage time, which ended with a shot hitting the post.
Also all four times, the CPU team then got awarded another penalty in stoppage time (once even two more), again, when I was just trying to kick away a ball, which my defender had clearly in front of his feet.
And now comes the best part: None of these penalties with the game tied was converted directly, either my goalie saved it or they hit the post or the crossbar, but the deflection was always converted by the CPU team for the winning goal, once even with a header from outside the box.

I have played FIFA editions since 98, and there has always been scritping, when you play against the CPU, but FIFA 21 seems to be more ridiculous than all previous editions, at least, if you play with an underdog team.
