Playing on PC so game feels a lot better than past (first year for Next Gen on PC). One thing i can't stand though is the defense. My CBs just seem to stand still and let everyone just run right past them.

I don't think they use real fixtures for any of the leagues anymore. The first pandemic year where they couldn't use real fixtures probably made them say, "well, it's a lot less work to just do it this way."

FIFA22 had the real ones.



It's probably because of the world cup in the middle of the season screwing up the format they use for fixtures.

I never know who to scout or target for a transfer. Is there a way to somehow automate this? I don't know players around the world like that so it's overwhelming to me. Any tips on scouting? Transfers? How to keep it simple?

I'm enjoying the game overall. Online, would you guys recommend Semi assisted for passing and shooting? I feel like assisted passes the ball to the opposition too many times, so many interceptions this year. It's all a bit unbalanced and I'm losing my creativity because of the auto-intercepts.

To be honest I enjoyed 21 & 22 with matts sliders, I play offline. Can’t remember 20 to comment, but 23 is all over the place. It’s an absolute chore to play and feels as though you’re constantly battling against the games shortcomings as opposed to playing an opponent.

They’ve got a lot of patching to do to fix it.

I feel this way. I'm struggling to control my team, never mind beat the opposition. Passing the ball has never been such a chore.

Count me as one of those Xbox people who accessed the trial, played two hours, went to login again and get the message that there is a problem with my ea access. The workaround of deleting your save file and profile info is not ok. Still silence from EA on eta to a fix.

From what I played I was enjoying a lot of the game (but I don’t like the default camera ). Need another 5-8 hours to decide though….

An easier workaround is to do this:

-Before launching fifa, go over to the Profile and system -> Add or switch screen on the xbox menu and add a guest

-Launch fifa

-Once you get to the menu it will ask you to sign in with your actual profile, pick your real one at that point and you should be good to go

Been doing this for the trial after getting tired of sitting through all the startup nonsense every time after deleting the profile. Hope this helps!

Anyone able to get on their 10 Hour Trial yet? As of this morning I was still getting the "Can't validate your EA Play Account" error this morning on Xbox Series X. I tried F1 2022 which I still had trial time left on and it worked fine. It seems to be specific to FIFA.

Anyone able to get on their 10 Hour Trial yet? As of this morning I was still getting the "Can't validate your EA Play Account" error this morning on Xbox Series X. I tried F1 2022 which I still had trial time left on and it worked fine. It seems to be specific to FIFA.

I’m still getting that as well hopefully they fix it soon I’d like to give it a test run.

Log out of your Xbox account & log into guest, load up the Fifa trail & when it asks to verify the account log into your Xbox account & it should work. Did for me last week.

First fifa ever I'm not having fun playing. I'm generally its good enough type reviewer of fifas. Something about this one is just off. It's flat. The goals don't ever feels special. The player movements are weird. I'm pretty bummed out honestly. What did they do to change the feel of the individual players so much? they all seem the same now.

Have to do it on main menu of the game. It carries over into CM.

Having played it a bit more, they’ve vastly reduced the possible passing angles, turned up the pause on your players reactions and bumped the AI reactions up to superhuman.

So very, very frustrating. There’s a great game in here somewhere.

The Good:
This is a very pretty game. Presentation is great.
The Bad:
The new CM layout is okay, but not a lot has changed. I don't understand how adding lipstick to the layout was necessary unless they think it's an "update."
The Ugly:
The AI is lost. Not just lost, but 5 days late too. Some of you talk about being outright out ran to the goal. I had Harry Kain receive a pass to his feet with his back to goal. He was in the channel (35m to goal) so he did have time to turn. He turned any out ran all of my defense. He is a great goal scorer, but not quick.. Southampton's defense isn't great, but they are fast.
The new power shooting is ok, but not realistic against CPU. The timed finish was a better idea.
What happened to through balls? I like to use fast wingers, but the through balls are often slower that a regular pass. I didn't change anything from last year. Is there something i missed?
The still Ugly for many years:
Keepers are bad.
Midfielders don't track back.
Scripted goals are so much fun.
Switching players are unreliable.
Always at least one EA employee on the impressions thread saying how great this years new broken version really is.
