Settings not saving

I try to setup the controller and game settings but they don't seem to save. The sliders seem ok but things like passing and shooting revert to assisted. Is this the same for everyone?

I think I heard that if from the main menu you go to your profile and then save, it fixes this issue. Not sure but worth trying.

I changed all my settings, played some career mode, it went back to default.

I changed everything again and then went and saved my profile. Seemed to work yesterday and today.

You see your controller settings in the settings option in the main menu, but you also have to change the controller bit here as well otherwise it doesn’t save even though the main menu one shows it does.

Same here.

Both sliders and settings go to default if I switch my PS5 off.
I have saved them in my profile, but they do not seem to be remembered?

Also, when I fire up the PS5, it takes me through all the set up menus every time
as if this is the first time I am playing Fifa 23.

Any tips on how to fix this?

This just worked for me today. I'll give it a shot tomorrow and try to remember to post if it works!

Picked up a copy today for PS4 and noticed this as well. Also when I tried to leave a tournament it said "activate profile" which had never happened before in previous FIFA games. So I had to open profile/save and finally got to start/save an EFL Cup.

That seemed to do the trick for me as well. Unfortunately now in my Bayern Season/EFL Cup I'm getting way too many PK's on corners and you can't change the officials (default/strict/lenient) in tournament mode. I went back and switched to Default but I'm already in my Bayern/EPL Cup and there's no way to change officials rules.

This had worked for me previously. And then... it reset again. I saved the settings again. Worked for a while. Reset again. I'm guessing we'll have to wait for a patch.

Think it’s gonna need a big(!) patch. It seems no matter what the community (here at least) tries we can’t common fix ourselves.

Game seems the buggiest for years tbh. I’ve had:
• random crashes on Team Management
• starting game from PS4 rest mode none of saves appear on the menus but are visible in my profile saves
• profile not loading on starting game
• previous slider settings appearing when starting game
• favourite teams and rivals changing at random on start
• sliders in CM save not showing same as sliders in profile when opening save from main menu
• being asked to choose basic settings on game start but when going the screens everything is set to what I had already (seems the profile is loading but game considers it to be the default)

Common themes seem to be 1. when starting the game. And 2. when signing into the EA servers.

I'm not sure how anyone is playing Career Mode right now...

I've tried just saving settings and a few other tricks people have posted, but it resets right after a game. The game is currently unplayable right now and it's mind boggling how this happens AND can stay this way for so long now.

Was in customise earlier today, connected to EA servers. Had to leave the room for a while. Controller power saving mode meant the controller - not the game - turned off after 10 mins of no activity.

I pick the controller up and start it. Game is still on. Small grey box appears on screen for split second. I go into my profile manager. Username correct, but no favourite team or rivals showing. I go into game settings and it’s all defaulted!!! Sliders, difficulty setting, referee strictness, everything.

What the hell is that all about?!!! I give up.

Exactly. In Career Mode some of the controller settings reset to default at the start of every single match (Fifa Trainer: Show, Timed Finishing: On, Goalkeeper Save Assistance: Semi).

In Online Seasons sometimes out of nowhere all controller settings reset to default.

EA Sports, fix it already!

It's now 12/26/22 and the settings still get reset! Ridiculous they haven't fixed all this by now.
