Manager of National Team in Career Mode

I have started a career as the manager of an EPL team. I was offered and accepted a national team job. So far I have only seen friendly matches on my calendar, I was wondering how long until some meaningful matches would occur.

One reason that I ask is that I wasn’t really planning on continuing the EPL career for that many seasons.

I believe that the International piece runs true to FIFA schedule. So if you're playing FIFA 23 then your leading into the World Cup for 2026. Most matches for World Cup Qualifying don't begin until roughly 2024. So you'd need to play two club seasons to get the National Team matches that count.

I'm not sure if FIFA23 has the International Cups depending on which National Team you are managing. South America has the CopaAmerica that is played in 2024.

I haven't played that far through FIFA23 to confirm, but that's the way it's been from past FIFA games.
