Haha, a real live Dortmund fan, eh? I knew about their incredible support and recent struggles, which was the main reason I chose them. I'm becoming somewhat of a fan by playing my MM with them, but unfortunately I never get to see any real games. The US TV coverage of the Bundesliga on GolTV only shows two games per week and I can't remember the last time Dortmund was on...


Oh and I won the DFB Pokal. I actually had to play it a third time after the second one froze on the post-game highlights. I won the 3rd attempt 9-4! I've never seen a score line like that. What's weird is of the 13 goals, only 3 were scored after the 60 minute mark or what would've been the end of a 10min half game. I just couldn't miss -- I think 9 of my 13 on target shots went in -- and the CPU seemed determined to make it a game.

I'm currently taking a few days break for an off-season rest, although I did play one of my friendlies to see if my two transfers went through -- signed Marcel Jansen from Hamburg (he was listed) for 5.5M and a 19 year old 78 OVR CB from a Czech team... for only 1.6M!

Yeah I know what you are talking about. I remember my year in the US a couple years ago. All I had was the BVB Internet Radio, which was fun, but it's just not the same. I remember listening to the CL Qualification 2nd leg game against Rapid (or Austria) Vienna and they lost in penalties...the beginning of something which turned out to be the tuffest stretch in BVB history.

However if you want to see the 1.Bundesliga live go to myp2p.eu and you should be able to see every game, at least in a conference show.

Well it's pretty tuff to get a good german player for the left side. Jansen, however is definitely an option. He's not my favourite, but definitely a good counterpart to Dede. However if you wanna look for good affordable alternatives, there is also Marcel Schäfer from Wolfsburg and Dennis Aogo from Hamburg. Just some suggestions...

And 9-4...wow. I the most goals I had in a game was 7 against the AI and 8 against another human. However I just play 6 min, I think...

I think that 9-4 game was an incredible fluke. I played my first three friendlies of season two -- 1-0, 2-1, 2-0 and all were on the same time/settings as the 9-4 game. Very weird.

My new 19 year-old CB scored on a corner in his first appearance. My VP is on fire with 3 goals in limited time coming on as a substitute while I get some younger players some PT.

just wanted to give everyone a heads up- i got the scheduling glitch. i am arsenal in the ECC, FA and league matches. right now i have double header saturday of league and FA cup twice a month!
i cannot believe they did not fix this. i like this game, but very disappointed they did not fix this.

just wanted to give everyone a heads up- i got the scheduling glitch. i am arsenal in the ECC, FA and league matches. right now i have double header saturday of league and FA cup twice a month!

I had it to with Roma. ECC (vs Inter) & Coppa Italia (vs Milan) matches on the same day. I lost both

Is anyone convinced that there is a CPU......"boost" in Cup games?

In Serie A play I am in 5th place after 9 games but only 2 points out of 2nd. Roma is playing well.

Somehow I drew Genoa in the 2nd round of Coppa Italia. 1st game at Stadio Olimpico and Genoa has 2 players with neutral form and all the rest with down arrows.

Game starts and I feel like I'm playing on Legendary mode with default tactics. They were flying at me all over the pitch. Perfect sliding tackles from everyone and everyone is still dribbling like Ronaldo. It was like FIFA 09 all over again. Palladino, goal in the 7th minute. I equalize late and it's 1-1 on aggregate going to Genoa.

Riise gets Roma off to a good start with a goal in the 7th off of a corner kick. All hell breaks loose after the 75th minute and Genoa gets 2 goals in 3 minutes. The perfect passing, perfect slide tackles, and perfect dribbling was all a joke.

In Serie A games, I'm drawing an average of 8-12 fouls per game against the CPU. In 2 Cup games (15 minute halves) Genoa had 4 total fouls.

This is the type of nonsense is what keeps this game from being great. No matter what they do with passing, dribbling, jostling, shooting, tactics, and whatever else they do with the game, there are still these overriding scripting moments that bring the game down IMO. Can you win these games? Of course, but it doesn't mean that it's not there.

I have nothing to point to, but I swear I read somewhere that this is indeed true. Then again I played a team that beat me 3-1 in League 2 play and I played them in Cup play a few weeks later and beat them 2-0. Who knows.

I will say that I've seen a lot of strange results in Cup play IRL. A lot that comes from the fact that many of the top echelon teams don't play their best players in a lot of these matches.

I got fired in my last attempt with Roma 28 games into the season and 1 point out of first place. I crashed out in the Cup after losing to Parma 7-1 on aggregate. Seriously? C'mon man! This after I swept Inter, AC Milan, and split with Juve.

I think there is a boost right after you score a goal but in real life clubs tend to concede after scoring.

Riz, Genoa is tough in FIFA. They have been a thorn in my side and I get tired of having to deal with Crespo. His body control/balance is tough to defend.

Cup action is much harder though.

Cup action is much harder though.

In the game guide they say there is a real momentum factor in play in this game. They say if you've been scored on, you should slow down and maintain posession for a bit so your guys can recover. Conversely if you score, press the attack. Don't know if it's true or not, but that's what the guide says.

Also I just so happened to play the same team back to back last night. The first game was a regular season game, I lost 4-2. I'm a 1* team, they are 2 1/2* team. We played 'em in the F.A. Cup 2nd round the next game and I beat 'em 2-1 in extra time. It was cool because near the end because Andy was saying how he couldn't believe that we were about to pull this off.

I'm playing some QPR team next I think. I think we're dead. Although we did play Blackburn close only losing 3-2 which is pretty good since we were very outclassed. Maybe we can shock the world.

Makes sense, I've conceded goals and the cpu definately pressures more and vice versa if i score i keep pushing. Therizing makes a good point that the better teams don't usually play their top-tier players. I'm playing as Man U and i rarely play Rooney and Berbatov during Cups, usually go with Valencia and another young guy to get them some Playing Time
