Comparible to the mumbo-jumbo EA spouted years ago about rebuilding the Madden engine for next-gen gaming. But what else are these people going to say? Their job is to sell game units, not get all heart-to-heart with consumers. The bottomline is this: Their offline priorities are becoming less and less of their focus with all their sports games. And if they've decided not to spend the time and resources on improving something in the game, they don't and won't talk about it. That's what PR people are paid to do.

Re: Aaron McHardy Scripting Interview
But its even more noticeable when playing online. In NHL your goalie gives up a soft goal or a save rebounds to an attacker for an open net same thing in Fifa all in the last minute, its infuriating online.Comment

Re: Aaron McHardy Scripting Interview
Really? I have a tough time seeing that. The momentum programming in FIFA is CPU-driven. The User is simply the victim/beneficiary of the momentum shifts the CPU goes through during each game. I don't see how that relates to User vs User games.Comment

Re: Aaron McHardy Scripting Interview
No. And I'm not saying player rating boosts don't exist online. Doesn't EA's NHL series even allow you to buy boosts/cheats for your online player?
Specifically, I'm saying the momentum programming in the offline game is CPU-driven. CPU players get ratings boosts and/or ratings penalties, not User players. My team performs exactly the same all match long. It's only the CPU that goes through momentum shifts, which cause it to have performance peaks and valleys so to speak.Comment

Re: Aaron McHardy Scripting Interview
its actually very noticable online. i cant count how many wins ive seen go to a draw in the last few mins of a game because my guys suddenly stop marking people and just watch the ball float in for a header.Comment

Re: Aaron McHardy Scripting Interview
Well that's just plain ridiculous then. I can understand it for offline play against the CPU as it arguably adds some degree of challenge to the game. But when playing against another person? That's awful.Comment

Re: Aaron McHardy Scripting Interview
Yep thats damn frustrating. Nothing infuriates me more than holding onto a lead only for my defenders to all of a sudden have cement in their boots.Comment
