Re: Virtual Pro Match Rating Help

I'm at the half right now as a striker with a 5.7. I have been involved in nearly all of our chances on goal. I've kept possession well but don't get credit for making good passes and I lose a point if I make one bad pass or turnover. I can't enjoy this mode because I can't help thinking about my low score staring at me in the bottom right corner. It wouldn't worry me if the grade didn't effect me being in the starting lineup.

I play no different than I did in PES career games and would never get anything less than a 6.0. I hate this right now but I want to keep playing.

Alright I am absolutely convinced this has nothing to do with my performance. I just checked out the player performance for my opponent's striker who ended with a 6.7. I ended with a 5.8.

My shots were on/off 0/6. His was 0/1
My passing was 84% with 3 key passes. He had 3 key passes but only 81% passing.
      I had 3 successful 1 on 1. He had 2.
Both of us had 0 tackles. We both had 3 interceptions.
Ball retention possession for me was 4/18 won/lost. His 4/9.
      I won 1/11 headers he had 0/13.

Only difference was ball possession. Maybe that is what is giving me a poor rating. If it is that is dumb because how am I suppose to win possession as much as everyone else.

Also you missed 6 shots while he only missed 1. Another thing did his team win? Usually the team that's losing gets lower ratings unless your team managed to score at least 1

I believe it was a draw, but the reason I missed 6 shots was because I created chances. At least I'm positioning myself to be able to take shots.

It can be funky at times but I feel like when I'm playing well the ratings reflect it. I'm a inverted 19 yr USA-born LM who likes to cut inside and has an eye for goal. Even if I don't score or assist on a goal I can get ~7.0-7.3 rating if I'm influencing the game and getting shots on target. Interceptions/tackles/ball retention won helps a lot too.

My 2 major gripes with the ratings system are:

            1. I wish the rating wasn't displayed during the game. I'd like to play with a clear mind and just focus on the task at-hand. If you're desperate for a rating increase you can just simply call for the ball and play safe passes (if you're a middie). I don't think that's very realistic IMO.

            2. When you're on a high rating (>8.0) it will drop automatically. I assume this has something to do with position but I feel like if you're playing your position well (playing the passing lanes, closing down, etc...) it should remain stable until you fall out of position or mess up (misplaced pass, get beat 1-on-1, etc...)

Now I wouldnt run all over the pitch to get involved, but just try to get the plays going through you. If you aren't scoring goals, I believe that Tackles and Key Passes help your rating the most.
I agree with CDM getting the best rating. I have created a career as a ST, CAM, RM, & CDM. I always get the best rating as a CDM. Only thing worse is creating a goalie.

I play as a CM and I consistently get ratings in the 7 range. Rating results seem to do with the amount of activity and touches; I know someone who plays as a GK and who complains he always ends up 4 to 5.

Easy to place something in front of the rating display to block it out. I do that with a few games: use a scrap of paper or cardboard to block the HUD view if I don't want to see the info.

I feel like the positioning part of the rating is really unreliable. I've noticed times where just moving up field with make my rating go down, then up, then down again. Playing a CDM and do alright passing and setting up the offense, but I've never been able to score above a 6.8 at the end of the game. A couple times I got my rating up near 8 during the game, but then it would just drop by 3s and 4s back down into the 6.x range. I use the arrows to give me a heads up where to be, and rarely see the 3 arrow marker, but even when the arrows aren't on me, I get docked. Kinda frustrating.
