I actually started a career with the NY Red Bulls earlier this month. I wanted to start in the United States (where I live) and work my way up the career ladder. I expected within a couple of years to be able to make a move abroad and from there work my way up. Long story short; I was extremely successful my first season. I lost in the finals of the Supporters' Shield (domestic cup), but won the MLS Cup (the playoffs/league). I thrashed the league... Henry lead the league in scoring with 25, and I had the third leading scorer in the MLS (Cooper) as well as the most clean sheets and Lindpere led the league in assists. I had 69 points (20-5-9).. The next season I won the Supporters' Shield and the league again and finished with a ridiculous 84 points (28-2-4)... I also was the national manager for Belgium and was playing pretty well.. I finished second in my group for the World Cup Qualifiers. The third season started and I was ready to make my move abroad; and nobody wanted me. NOBODY in Poland or lower tier England or Portugal or even Mexico thought my remarkable record warranted a chance. So I feel like I invested a bunch of time in nothing; because it's ridiculously hard to work your way out of the United States because everyone views the MLS as vastly inferior and scum of the earth quality type of football I guess..... Oh well, lesson learned.
Does anyone actually play a MLS team in career?

Ive tried to play with MLS this year and it just doesnt cut it for me. With there being only one division it gets boring year to year. I also try to use the same team i use in my Football Manager career (Southend this year). I like to be able to build my team and eventually work my way up through to the top divisions.Comment

In retrospect, I kinda wish I had stayed and continued building AJ Auxerre. Ironically, I can apply to take that job back if I want right now, but I think I want to stay with Man U for now just because I've invested so much time developing players there, and it's still highly competitive. I'm actually 2 points behind Arsenal right now despite the fact that my team is pretty loaded.NFL: Bills

Re: Does anyone actually play a MLS team in career?
Last year I played a season with Toronto FC. Was a struggle to say the least, but still fun. If there were more MLS-specific things going on, I'd probably start a season in the MLS again just because it's local.
Then again, there may be more MLS-specific stuff this year and I just dont know about it.TB Lightning | Liverpool | Panathinaikos | Toronto FC
