For once we were the side that really deserved more from this. Arsenal took two shots the entire night, and scored both of them. They took the lead in the first half with Reine-Adelaid doing well to hold up the ball and avoid a tackle to get a look at the goal and he fired it into the right side of the net. We found an equalizer in the second half after Vieira got down the right and sent a ball across the face of the goal for Harris to tap in on the back post. Arsenal took the lead just minutes later off of a well worked set piece that set up Jenkinson for a thunderous shot from the edge of the box into the top left corner. But We came back to equalize once again with Quiroga playing it out left to Morris and he turned around the edge of the defense and fired it low across the goal to the far post.

It wasn't our most impressive of performances, but it was exactly what we needed to finish top of the group. We needed only a draw to keep Real from overtaking us, and our defense was fantastic to keep a team of this caliber off the score sheet in their own stadium. We definitely blew some chances of our own, but overall I am happy with what we accomplished in a group that was anything but easy.

And now we are back to our goal scoring ways immediately after that goalless affair. We opened the scoring after Dembele played the ball to Burke in front of goal and his first shot was saved, but he put the rebound in the back of the net. We doubled the lead before the half was over and when Morrison played it to Boscagli in the middle and he hit it first time into the top left corner. They pulled one back after we tackled the ball away several times but it kept falling back to them, and finally Kalulu was able to get his shot through and inside the far post. The hopes of a comeback didn't last long though and Tousart got around the right side of the defense and sent a low ball to the back post for Boscagli to tap in.

Despite then scoring a long range stunner, this one never really felt in doubt. We did our work in the first half and opened the scoring with Dembele getting around the left and firing his shot off the post, but Burke was there to clean up the rebound. Our next came after we cleared a free kick away and Kamada used his pace to race ahead on the counter drawing their defenders towards him before the laid it off to Boscagli coming in late and he slotted it home. In the second half Sanson crushed a long range effort from outside of the box with a first time shot into the top left corner to keep it interesting the rest of the way, but they didn't really trouble us after that and we got the win.

Nothing went our way today. We fell into a hole early, and Kelly hit the post twice afterwards which just about summed up our night. They took the lead after a poor decision from our defense to try to pass out of the back rather than clear it and Loaiza jumped the pass and then fired it into the top right corner. They got another not long after after they worked the ball down the left and then picked out Saiss running in unmarked on the near post and blasting it past the keeper.

This was a good way to rebound after that last match. We opened the scoring after Tousart played Boscagli around the left and he fired his shot, but Henry stuck his foot out and deflected it back inside his near post. It took a while before some more action came around, but after we lost a ball in their box, two of their players ran into each other causing to ball to come loose and Burke was there to pick it up and slot it past the keeper. In the closing minutes West Ham sent their keeper up on a corner but we cleared it out and Mousset was the first to track it down and put it into the open net. With the game already put to rest, we failed to clear a ball and Gonzalez ended up with it and let it fly from outside the box into the top right corner.

Grimsby Town 1 - 0 Manchester City

Wolf atoned for an atrocious miss just 10 minutes earlier when he set up the winning goal for Boscagli. We went through 90 minutes of all around poor play, and City weren't any better on the other side either. With 10 minutes remaining though Boscagli played Wolf through and with only the keeper to beat he skied his shot over the bar. Then with time running out we cleared a corner out ahead and Wolf was able to win the ball from their last man to go through once again on goal. With the miss still on his mind he drew the keeper out and then quickly laid it off for Boscagli running in on the left and he tucked it away for the win.

Review: The board's expectations are that we run the table in all three competitions and if February was any indication we're well positioned to do that. Nevermind the loss in the second leg of the UEL Round of 32 against Hoffenheim and the draw against Celta to end our five-game winning streak in La Liga, we pushed our lead in the league to 8 points (10 over Real), we provided a strong punch against Real in the semis of the Spanish Cup, and we moved on to the Round of 16 of the UEL thanks to a strong performance in our first match against Hoffenheim. Maybe most importantly, we are in great form and looking like the squad we want to be.

Individually I thought Müller gave us some great contributions and as I tally it up I see he scored six times and assisted twice. He is such a great fit as the #9 with Messi and Neymar out on the wings and I know I'm super lucky to have a striker with his kind of talent at the head of our attack.

La Masia

CM - Fran Martinez (63 OVR, 88-94 POT): This 17-year old from Venezuela is officially the top prospect in La Masia. Standing at 5'7", 150lbs, Fran is described as technically gifted. He displays natural movement (82 agility, 78 balance) to go with very good ball control (77) and curve (77) on the ball.

CM - Esteban Fuentes (59 OVR, 82-94): 16-year old from Venezuela described as technically gifted. Fuentes joins Martinez as promising midfielders for both the club and their country. He is very shifty, showcasing excellent ball control (78), dribbling (75) and agility (73).

CAM - Javier Marquez (60 OVR, 83-93): Now a 17-year old from Spain described as a playmaker. Marquez is a smaller prospect (5'5",143lbs) but his potential is big and that's what made us sign him. We're hopeful he'll be able to develop into a winger.

CM - Emigdio Quiroga (58 OVR, 77-94)*: 16-year old from Argentina descried as technically gifted. Quiroga displays excellent ball control (79) and agility (78) early on.

ST - Flavio Mansilla (60 OVR, 80-86): 16-year old from Venezuela described as technically gifted. Mansilla continues to project as an exciting prospect displaying excellent ball control (76) for his age. I'm excited for him as a player for the club and the country.

CDM - Diego Menendez (45 OVR, 79-87): Now an 18-year old from Argentina described as technically gifted. Menendez is very raw but shows high potential so we were willing to take a bit of a gamble with him. His agility (82) is impressive for someone who is so raw overall.

LM - Pablo Acosta (56 OVR, 80-94): 16-year old from Argentina and yet another technically gifted prospect for the club. Acosta's agility (80) is easily his best attribute and he also possess the kind of pace (71acc/70spd) at his age that makes us comfortable about how he projects at his position.

CF - Eligio Domínguez (54 OVR, 75-89): 15-year old from Venezuela described as technically gifted. Domínguez doesn't have a particular attribute that jumps off the page but his promise is undeniable.

CM - Jose Vargas (41 OVR, 78-94): This 15-year old from Argentina described as an attacker is the rawest prospect in the academy but his potential was too enticing to pass up on him. His pace (74acc/68spd) and agility (70) are what stand out at this time.

LM - Valerio Segura (57 OVR, 75-89): 17-year old from Venezuela who is technically gifted. Segura is a very agile (79) midfielder with good pace (74acc/69spd) who may be more of a fit as a winger in our system.

RB - Manuel Navarro (47 OVR, 77-83): 15-year old from Spain described by scouts as an attacker. Navarro actually possesses decent pace (72 acc/70 spd) at a very young age and is very agile (72) as well. However, he's so raw as a defender he can't even be called a defender at this time. He projects as a depth player.

CB - Sergio Torres (54 OVR, 74-80): 15-year old from Spain described as physically strong. Torres oozes some impressive traits for his young age such as his jumping (73), aggression (73), strength (65), and pace (71 acc/68 spd) but he's raw as a defender and will need to work hard on that aspect of his game.

ST - Darío Verdejo (53 OVR, 75-81): 17-year old from Spain standing at 5'11" and 176lbs. Verdejo is described as physically strong and indeed his strength (79) is his top attribute although he isn't just a log as he also has good aggression (75), speed (75), and jumping (75). He's very raw technically though so he'll need to work hard in that aspect of his game to develop as a scorer.

CAM - Daniel Lugano (58 OVR, 74-80): Also a 17-year old Venezuelan described as technically gifted who is also very agile (79). Since I'm able to make better evaluations of Venezuelan prospects I know Lugano, who is 5'11" and 154lbs, can also play as either a CF or CM so we're excited about his versatility on the pitch.

March is going to be exciting for several reasons. The second leg of the semis against Real will get us started and you know we want nothing more than to beat our rivals to get to the Copa Del Rey final. We'll only have three league games next month and two of them are again team in the bottom half of the table so I expect wins there before we face off against one of the surprise teams of the season in Levante. Then there's the UEL where hopefully the fact we sold Breel Donald Embolo to Everton this summer won't come back to haunt us. It's somewhat of a personal tie for me as well as Everton also feature Hakim Ziyech, who bolted from Twente upon my arrival to the Dutch club so you know I'd like to beat his new club while holding him to little-to-none playmaking. Finally with Venezuela we'll get to go on a mini European trip in our final preparations for this summer's World Cup (SPOILER: it'll serve us well to get tested against European nations).

There was very little doubt in the result considering West Ham went down to 10 men just 5 minutes into the match. We took advantage of that early and opened the scoring when Kelly whipped a free kick into the box and Harris met it on the near post and headed it down past the keeper. Then just before the half Kelly sent in an inch perfect cross to the back post where Wolf was able to dive and head it inside the near post to double our lead. In the second half Wolf chased down a loose ball after we cleared it away to keep it from going out and he found Konate running out ahead and he finished it with a well placed shot to the bottom left corner.

In all honesty, MK Dons deserved to win today. They missed 2 absolute sitters in the first half before we opened the scoring with Konate playing a great ball over top to Wolf who's shot was saved, but Mousset was there to clean it up. They then got their much deserved goal as Thomas-Asante danced around our defense in the box and then fired his shot past the keeper to equalize. We grabbed the win late when Wright played Wolf through on the counter and he took a big touch to take advantage of his pace and then fired it across the goal to the far post.

Wolverhampton 1 - 3 Grimsby Town

We got revenge for the game we dropped at home to them with a dominating away performance. Burke opened the scoring after Boscagli played a phenomenal through ball to him down the right and he raced ahead of the defense to slot it across the goal to the far post. Burke doubled the lead after Boscagli once again played him through and he took it early with a low shot to the bottom left corner. They pulled one back to keep it interesting when Graham got the ball inside our box and fired it past the keeper. But in the final minute we put the game to rest as Boscagli sent in a corner and Dembele flicked it on at the near post for Sidibe waiting at the other post for the tap in.

Sunderland AFC 0 - 0 Grimsby Town

We were unlucky not to score, but their keeper put in a fine performance. We got through on their goal a handful of times, but each time we saw it parried away. We definitely should have walked away with more points, but if we can keep up our form from the first half of the season, we won't be missing those extra 2 points.

We took a gamble and played our reserves, and they proceeded to put in an absolutely awful performance. Leicester took the lead after Kapustka used his strength to hold off defenders and then play Rashford down the right and he finished on the near post with a tidy finish. It wasn't much later that they got a second when Robinson made a foolish challenge to concede a penalty and Rashford sent the keeper the wrong way and slotted it home. We pulled one back to give ourselves some hope when Harris played Morris through on the right and he placed it back across the goal to the bottom left corner. We should have had the equalize as we went out on the break, but we failed to take advantage of opportunity and didn't even get a shot off.

This was an inexcusable performance from our defense, and in particular on the last goal. It looked good when we got out to a fast start with Dembele playing the ball to Morrison on the right and he raced past the defender and slotted it across to the far post. Arsenal answered back, overloading our defense and getting the ball to Barrera unmarked on the left side of the goal and he fired it past our keeper. Then just before the half, our defense fell asleep again and allowed Musa to run right past them and get a free header on the ball and our keeper never had a chance. But Kamada equalized for us after Boscagli played him around the right and he placed his shot perfectly off the far post and in. It looked like the draw was done and dusted, but in the final minute a cross went into the box and Sidibe, in a moment of madness, headed it back towards our own goal rather than away and Musa was able to head it down into Merino's path and he buried in the back of the net for the win.

Aston Villa 1 - 4 Grimsby Town

We took out our frustration from last game on Villa and even with our reserves out there they were no match. Quiroga played Kelly the ball through on the right and he slotted it across to the left side of the goal to give us the lead. Later in the half Morris curled a beautiful free kick over the wall and into the top left corner to double the lead. But Jojic pulled one back as he made a good run to get the ball in the middle of the box and hit it first time around the keeper. Morris got a second after he played a great 1-2 with Quiroga and he took a touch to line up his shot and fired it from just inside the box into the top right corner. Then in the final minute Wright sent a corner in and Mousset was waiting on the near post to flick it on for Deslandes to tap it in on the back post.

Champion's League Round of 16 Leg 1
Inter Milan 0 - 0 Grimsby Town
MOTM: Paterson

Their keeper played absolutely out of his mind. I still can't believe that we didn't grab an away goal, but every time it looked like we were going to get one, he just flew out of no where to push it away. His highlight came at the very end when Wolf turned his defender to go through on goal and he place it low to the far post only to see the keeper get down and make a phenomenal reflex save. Now we just have to be sure to get a win at home to move on.

We had several chances, but struggled finding the back of the net. Luckily we were still able to grab one to take the points. It took until the second half, but Kamada caught them on the counter and played Boscagli through down the left and he finished it low into the bottom right corner.

The scoreline is closer than it was, and we handled Chelsea with relative ease. Kamada struck first after Dembele back heeled a ball to put him through and he slotted it past the keeper. Tousart doubled the lead not much later after Burke's shot was saved, and then his own was as well, but the third time was the charm. Chelsea pulled one back after a shot came back off the crossbar and Mattiello was able to get to the rebound first and fire it into the goal. We regained our advantage in the second half after Dembele used his strength to get into the box and pick out Sidibe in the middle and he placed his shot into the bottom right corner. In the closing minutes Chelsea grabbed another and once again it was a follow up of a shot that came back off the crossbar, this time the goalscorer being Traore.

A huge gaffe by Thomas in goal cost us 2 points in this one that should have been ours. Up until the final minutes it was a back and forth display between the two keepers and then in the 86th minute Wolf played Wright around the left and he slotted it across to the far post for what should have been the win. Then in the 89th minute Nkoudou made a run to the back post and he smashed a volley straight at our keeper and he fumbled the save and it bounced into the goal for the equalizer.

We sure like to make ourselves sweat, but in the end it was a comfortable result. It started off on a great foot as Declan John took out Kamada while he was shooting and Boscagli converted the penalty easily into the right side of the goal. Tousart then found Boscagli down the left and he was able to slot it low past the keeper to double the lead. Inter answered right back with Coco going on a fantastic run with the ball and evading tackles to get through on goal and tuck it away. In the second half we regained our advantage when Morrison found Kamada running in on the right and he took his shot early and placed it across to the left side of the goal. Once again they put the pressure right back on us as our defense allowed Paredes to dribble uncontested up to the edge of our box and he fired it into the top left corner. But we finally put it away for good when Tousart found Kamada coming in on the right once again and the defense was expecting him to take it early again but he continued his dribble past them and then slotted it low to the far post.

It felt good to get a clean sheet out there since it seemed like it had been a while since the last time we did that in the league. Boscagli got us started early after Tousart flicked the ball on into his path and he placed it across the keeper to the far post. In the second half Morrison doubled our lead after the defense failed to clear Kamada's cross and Morrison was the one to trap it and then fire it back across his body to the bottom right corner.

Manchester City 1 - 0 Grimsby Town

It took a worldie of a goal to beat us, and we had a chance in the final seconds from point blank range, but we have to settle for a loss. Their goal came late in the game as Cornet was forced to dribble sideways outside the edge of the box and then he turned and let it fly from a few yards behind the line and it sailed into the top right corner. In the end Mousset had a sitter after Wolf sent it into the box, but he sent his shot right at the keeper instead to cost us the point.

Each win now brings us closer and closer to clinching the title and it's always special to win it with a late goal like this. It was back and forth for the bulk of the match with Everton having the slight advantage. But it was us who finally came up with some magic when Sidibe got down the left with only a few minutes remaining and sent his cross in to the middle where Harris skied above the defense and headed it inside the far post to secure all 3 points for us.

It looked like Liecester was going to gives us a tough time for a while, but in the second half we pulled away on the back of a 20 minute hat-trick from Harris. Wolf was the first to score after Harris bumped their man with the ball and knocked him over with no foul call and he played it straight ahead to Wolf and he tucked it away with a first time shot. They hit us on the counter though and Rashford was the last one to get the ball and he has a clear shot at our goal and he made no mistake. They then took the lead after we blocked a shot and Amartey ran in to smash it with a first time shot into the top left corner. We equalized in the second half after Quiroga played Wolf down the left and he placed it across the goal to the far post. Kelly then took advantage of some good luck after a long distance shot from Vieira came back off the post and he ran in and tapped it in to give us the lead. We extended the lead with Wolf getting down the left and sending a ball across the face of the goal for Harris to tap in with a lunging effort on the back post. Harris then proved he can do more than tap it in when he crushed a free kick from 35 yards out over the wall and into the top right corner. Then in the final minute Harris attacked once again but this time he was cut down from behind and Wolf conceded the penalty to him to complete his hack-trick and he finished it off into the left side of the goal.

Morris came through our youth ranks when we were still just a league 2 side, and now he is proving his value with man of the match performances again the likes of Bayern Munich in the Champion's League. We got started in the first half when Morris played the ball to Dembele at the top of the box and he turned his defender to go through on goal and slotted it into the bottom right corner. Morris then got a scrappy goal after the keeper pushed away a cross attempt but it didn't go far and Morris was the first one there to fire it back into the goal to give us a 2 goal advantage to take back home with us for the second leg.

Another win, and I believe only 4 points separate us from securing the league now. We kicked it off with Wolf playing a ball into the middle of the box and Quiroga ran in and took advantage of it falling to his strong foot and he fired it first time to the bottom right corner. Just 10 minutes later Riley took out Vieira as he dribbled into the box and Spencer put away the penalty into the bottom right. Stoke got one back in the second half after our defense over pursued and allowed them to work it into the box and Demirbay got the ball in the middle for a first time strike across to the far post. We got our two goal advantage back though with Harris getting out wide and playing Kelly through up the middle and he had an easy finish with the keeper one on one.

We are on to the semi-finals! Bayern made us sweat it out down the stretch, but our boys came through. Bayern struck just before the half when Garnett got played through up the middle and he finished it around our keeper to pull the aggregate within 1. On the other side of the break they score once again with Garcia getting through this time and he powered it into the back of the net to tie up the scores on aggregate. But then Morris, who was the star of the first leg, stepped up and curled a beautiful free kick up over the wall and into the top right corner to put us back ahead. Just a few minutes later Harris played Burke through on the right and he used his strength to hold off the defender and placed it low around the keeper to the bottom left corner. Bayern weren't ready to give up yet though and a cross found it's way into the box and Barkley gave everything he had to slide down and get it before our defender and direct it inside the near post. We were finally able to rest easy when Burke played the ball through to of all people, Tousart, and he blasted the ball into the top corner on the near post with an emphatic finish.

Liverpool FC 2 - 0 Grimsby Town

We had a chance to lock up the league with just a single point from today, but Liverpool weren't ready to see us celebrate at Anfield. Gabbiadini opened the scoring in the second half after he got on the end of a cross from Coutinho that was actually saved, but he followed up the rebound. Can scored next to put the game to rest in the closing minutes after a shot was once again saved, and they got the rebound and played it quick to Can in the middle and he fired it into the back of the net.

We did it, we locked up our second straight Premier League title with 4 games left to spare. Now our full focus can go on the Champion's League and we can try to secure a double. We opened the scoring in this one with Harris trying to fire in a long distance free kick but it took a deflection and flashed across the box where Wolf was running in on the back post and he used a cheeky chip to beat the keeper. Our next one came off a set piece again, this time Quiroga lined up the free kick from 25 yards out at the top of the box and he curled it perfectly into the top left corner. Wolf put the finishing touches on the match in the second half after Quiroga got down the left and pulled the ball back to find him in the middle and he slotted it into the bottom right corner.

Manchester United 2 - 2 Grimsby Town

We reached deep into our reserves for this one with our first leg against Barcelona coming up and the league already secured. Early on we drew a penalty and Mousset stepped up and drove it home into the bottom left corner. We doubled that lead when Wolf played Lewis, who was making his full debut, around the right and he slotted it across the goal to the far post. United fired back though and Ruiz got the ball in the middle of the box and powered his shot low off the keeper's finger tips and in. Then in the closing minutes United caught us on a counter and Depay got the ball running in on the near post and he finished it low to the far post for the equalizer.

Breel Donald Embolo is showing signs that he's starting to settle in real well with The Exiles after a full season with the club and his goal and assist led Newport County to a key road victory at Old Trafford. Embolo was a wrecking ball, equally outworking Phil Jones and Chris Smalling in the box. Super prospect Daniele Martella, in his first official game as the main backup at CAM, subbed into the game with 20 minutes left and promptly assisted Raphaël Guerreiro to put the final nail in the coffin.

If both Embolo and Kjetil Ringdal Støvland are going to be in scoring form it's going to be very difficult for opponents to contend with The Exiles, even for a club as loaded as Chelsea. The Blues weren't massively outplayed in their own grounds but they failed to score on 8 shots (4 on target) while Newport County was able to be a lot more effective with their 9 shots (7 on target).

The Exiles' B-squad once again got the job done in the F.A. Cup. Nicolas Gersbeck's goal in stoppage time of the first half turned out to be a back-breaker for Birmingham who went from being competitive in that first half to being down 0-2 four minutes into the second half. Juan Pablo, a former Newport County academy product, got the visitors back into the game with a nifty goal midway through the second half but just a few minutes later Doke Boëtius found Ben Potter on a breakaway for the final score. Newport County kept the pressure on by putting all nine of their shots on target while Pablo's goal was the only shot on target for his side.

No really if RS and Embolo are going to start scoring a double and a hat-trick ... it's just unfair. The Norwegian Tank has already been playing at a high level throughout this season and now Embolo, who is a load for opposing CB's, is playing the best football of his career. The Scottish champs were simply over-matched by the striking pair to the point where you wonder whether Celtic will even play the starters in the second leg of this tie at Rodney Parade.

Pogba 25' (Broken toe, out for 2 months)

The Exiles seemed poised to continue their torrid run but Paul Pogba, last season's team MVP, suffered his second broke toe of the season in the 25th minute and Newport County failed to maintain form after his exit and had to settle for a draw. Jefferson Farfán had a chance to give his side the lead for good in the second half but his penalty kick was saved by Kasper Schmeichel.

The Exiles' B-squad got the call to finish off the job against Celtic and they turned in a pretty entertaining game that had a couple of lead changes. Martella has been looking every bit the top prospect that he's touted to be since the club opened up the opportunity for him to have more playing time (something he earned).

QPR looked ready to provide another setback for Newport County until a potent shot from Ringdal Støvland in the 72nd minute hit the crossbar then ricocheted off Alex Smithies' back before the English goalkeeper could realize what was happening. The own goal seemed to break The Hoops who went on to give up a couple more goals before the end of the game to turn what had been a competitive match into a solid victory for Marccelino's side.

Analysis: The Exiles completed a dominant run in February, easily disposing of Celtic in the UEL to get to the Round of 16, meeting expectations by beating Birmingham City to get into the quarter finals of the F.A. Cup, and earning 10 out of 12 points in the BPL for the second consecutive month to shave three more points off Manchester City's lead at the top of the table. Is there now a legitimate race for the league title in England? You would have to think so, especially due to the fact that a Newport County vs. Man City rematch won't take place until - get this - the last game of the season. Oh yeah, it's on! Marccelino's squad is definitely in top form at the moment and the proof is in the back-to-back road wins against Manchester United and Chelsea followed by the B-squad's undoubted victory against Birmingham City's and The Exiles' subsequent murder of the Scottish Champions in Glasgow. The draw against Leicester was a bit of a setback, and losing Paul Pogba for two more months has the potential to hamper Newport County's run in a significant way, but it'd be tough to argue that this club isn't the hottest team in the BPL at the moment.

It is no coincidence that Newport County's top form is happening at the same time as when their two strikers are wrecking havoc. Embolo's five goals in February marked his best stretch in a month since joining The Exiles a season ago while The Norwegian Tank added three more goals to his BPL-leading tally to further distance himself from the pack. Add that to Jefferson Farfán's outstanding season and a possible career-best year from Clark Gordon and The Exiles' attack is one no defense wants to face.

RB - Ohon Aduamah (61 OVR, 87-94): 15-year old from Cameroon oozing tons of talent and potential at a very early age. Described as physically strong, Aduamah displays excellent aggression (82) and strength (77) to go with the jumping (75) and stamina (75) of a play-time ready prospect. He seems to have sufficient pace to play the position.

RB - Tony Turner (58 OVR, 86-92): 17-year old Yankee standing at 5'10", 154 lbs. Turner possesses excellent agility (78) and he's developing as a defender which is where his training will continue to focus.

RB - Ohon Ankrah (57 OVR, 83-94): 16-year old prospect from Cameroon who is more of a well-rounded prospect at this point in time. Ankrah is defensive minded and physical enough for the position, currently standing at 5'7" and 154lbs.

CDM - Pierre Tägtström (61 OVR, 83-89): Now a 17-year old from Sweden who is next in a great lineup of defensive midfielders developed by the club since Marccelino's arrival. Described as physically strong, Tägtström's exciting potential is undeniable and he displays eye-popping aggressiveness (91) towards the ball. He stands at 6'2" and 172lbs and has put in enough time in the academy that he should get promoted sooner than later.

CAM - Jason Lavery (54 OVR, 78-92): 17-year old prospect from Northern Ireland described as a playmaker. The lefty Lavery stands at 5'9" and 143lbs is considered the next big prospect at his position.

CAM - Matt Lampson (50 OVR, 78-88): 16-year old prospect from the United States whose pace (74acc/72spd) is his most notable asset. Lampson is a raw prospect and will need to work hard in the academy.

CM - Abraham Lamptey (52 OVR, 77-85): 17-year old prospect from Cameroon who is defensive minded. Lamptey checks in at 6'1" and 169lbs and although he projects as an all-around midfielder his physical look make him a CDM prospect in The Exiles' diamond.

LM - Collin Taylor (57 OVR 78-84): 16-year old American prospect described as a playmaker. His most outstanding skill is his agility (75) which is noticeably better than any other skill he has at the moment.

LW - Andre Domingues (59 OVR, 77-83): Now a 17-year old from Portugal who is starting to lose the rawness of his game and slowly creeping towards his great potential. Domingues checks in at 5'7" and 147lbs with his top attribute being his pace (75acc/71spd), followed by his agility (73) and balance (71).

CM - Dean McKay (48 OVR, 73-81): 15-year old prospect from Northern Ireland identified as a playmaker. McKay is very raw but even with that he shows outstanding agility (73) which should come in handy for his position.

GK - Aaron Keegan (50 OVR, 73-79): This 15-year old American projects as a backup at best for the club.

We appeared to be an entirely different class from them and they completely smothered our attack that has been so potent in the Premier League. We registered just a single shot the entire match, and luckily our defense was strong enough to only allow them to get one past us. It came almost from the start when they won the ball away from us in our own third and Samper got the ball at the top of the box and found his window to let it fly into the top left corner. We have to find a way to turn it around if we want a chance to bring it back, but it will be a lot harder after they took out Burke who is one of our main attacking threats.

We shuffled our lineup majorly again as we need our best players possible for the second leg against Barcelona. Luckily the game went our way and the referee pointed to the spot after a mistimed challenge from their defender in the box. Mousset was on hand to tuck it away just past the keeper's reach and that was all we needed for the 3 points.

This was an unbelievably nerve wracking game, but we didn't back down from the Spanish giants and we are moving on to the final after an intense penalty shootout. As dominant as they were defensively against us in the first leg, we matched that today allowing them just a single shot attempt. We got the goal we needed in the first half when Harris got the ball up ahead with options and he picked out Boscagli running in on the left and he placed it around the rushing keeper into the bottom right corner to tie it up on aggregate. It went scoreless the rest of the way, and after two extra time periods it was going to be decided by penalties. Johnstone came up huge and denied two penalties, along with them missing another, and it was his save on Zouma's attempt that locked up our spot in the final.

We played the kids today and Swansea made a meal of it. They opened it up in the first half with Nebano rising up to head down a cross into the bottom right corner. We equalized with a stunning long range effort from Deslandes after Bennett played him the ball as he ran in to support and he fired it from outside of the box into the top left corner. It only took a few minutes into the second half before they regained the lead after our defense let Almada dribble right past them and he tucked it away around the keeper. Then Hedges wrapped up the night when he tapped in a rebound off of a save.

We brought the first teamers back into play for this one to give our fans one last look at the team they have supported all season as we raced to the title once again. It was a pretty uneventful affair for the most part until Kelly tapped in a rebound off of a save from Dembele's shot. That was deciding margin and for the second straight season we were left to hold up the trophy in celebration.

Objectives Recap

Youth

We made the decision to disregard the youth objective. The prospects that we do have I am proud of, and the money is insignificant to us at this point. It seemed pointless to sell on our promising young players for no reason at all.

Brand Exposure

Our first objective was to earn £42.5M in shirt sales, and we knocked that out within the first 2 months of the season. Burke and Tousart were hot sellers for us after joining the club at the start of the season. The other objective as to sign a crucial 1st team player to a forward position. This seemed like a pointless objective after we led the league last season in scoring, and the move we finally did make didn't count for this, but we got the signature of Romelu Lukaku to join us starting next season. The long term objective set for us has two seasons left to knock it out, but we actually wrapped it up this year through our combination of league prize money and the Champion's League prize money we earned.

Financial

Our financial goal was to earn a profit margin of £42.5M and that was accomplished easily since our net spend in the transfer market wasn't a big hit to our profits due to the sale of both Zaha and Kessie at the start of the year.

Domestic Success

We defended our Premier League title and locked it up with a decent chunk of games still to play. It was obviously a fantastic year in that regard, but we did come up short in the F.A. Cup and exited in the round of 32.

Continental Success

We had a dream run in the Champion's League that culminated in the trophy. You can't ask for a better season than that in regards to Europe. We set the bar high for ourselves going forward now, but we shouldn't aim for anything less now that we know what we are capable of.

Summary

This season was a massive success. We accomplished more than I ever dreamed of when I took over. Grimsby Town, Champions of Europe. It's a beautiful thing to hear. Not only that, but we successfully defended our Premier League title to complete the double. Even though we actually finished with less points than we did last season, we locked this one up earlier with the rest of the league struggling more this year to come by points. We did come up short on a few of the objectives that were set out for us, but it's amazing how quickly the board overlooks that when you are winning the league and the Champion's League. Boscagli, while not quite as proficient as last season, still grabbed a second straight 20 goal season, proving why is is our most important player. A few player notes, Oliver Burke proved to be a nice upgrade over Zaha, proving our decision to move on a good one. Chancel Mbemba was a key addition to the back line as well, and Lucas Tousart really helped to solidify our defense by providing support in that holding midfield spot. Players who took a step forward were Callum Kelly who scored 12 Premier League goals despite being a bench player, Harvey Morris who filled in to great effect through injuries to Ravel Morrison and Daichi Kamada and showed he was ready for a bigger role with his unbelievable two leg performance against Bayern Munich in the Champion's League quarter final, and of course Owen Harris who at 20 years old started our last 2 Champion's League game including the final and is going to be an unbelievably special player in the future for us. We also made a big investment in youth this season by bringing in a pair of English talents in 19 year old midfielder Joe Spencer from Crystal Palace and 19 year old goalkeeper Ryan Kayode from Blackburn. I am also proud that we were able to give Maxime Le Marchand a proper send off as he retires now as a 2 time Premier League medal winner, and a Champion's League winner as well. He may not have been at the club for a great length of time, but he was a vital piece in bringing us to where we are now. As far as next season goes, there is only one way to get better. The Treble.

I have no idea how we didn't get a goal. We outplayed them from start to finish, and yet every chance we had resulted in their keeper making a top class save. The one time he didn't get a hand on it we saw it come back off the post. Their goal came with Martial getting the ball on the left side of goal and he used a feint to sent his defender past him and then he placed it around the keeper for the deciding goal.

We may not have won the Community Shield, but we were able to take home the Copa Europe instead. We got on the sheet early when Kelly tried to get around the outside and the ball was poked away from him straight into the path of Harris and he placed his shot back across the goal to the bottom left corner. In the second half Leverkusen found an equalizer after Ramos got the ball outside of the box and he pushed forward and then fired his shot into the top right corner. In extra time we came out victorious after Quiroga's shot was saved out to Konate and he crossed it first time back into the middle where Quiroga was waiting and he made no mistake this time and headed it into the back of the net.

It took only one game for Lukaku to open up his Grimsby scoring account, and it came against his old team too. Tousart played the ball out to the left for Lukaku and he took a touch and then hit a low shot with his left foot across the goal to the far post. Then a minute before the break Boscagli played Tousart through and he added one of his own with a strong shot into the top left corner. In the second half Boscagli was dribbling across the box when Funes Mori took him out and Lukaku converted from the spot to get his brace for the night. Then frustratingly we conceded with the last kick of the match after the ball somehow squeezed past our keeper on a corner that was brought down at the near post and Sanson was there to tap it in from in front of goal.

Every player that played on our front line today got a goal. Boscagli started it off after Kamada played him through on the left and he placed it to the bottom right corner for the lead. Then Boscagli was able to play Lukaku down the left on a counter not long after and he was able to keep his shot low and place it to the far post. Just before the half Morris played a great ball up ahead for Burke to run on to and he finished it around the keeper to put our lead at 3. In the second half they pulled one back after out defender made a great effort to block Cook's shot, but then he lost where the ball was on Cook to advantage to pounce and then fire it past our keeper. We got our advantage back though when Boscagli used his pace to get some room on the left and he sent a ball across the face of the goal for Konate to fire in on the back post.

We basically spotted them a goal right away but we were still able to come back and take care of business. We let Delgado dribble right through our defense to get through on goal and tuck it away just 5 minutes into the game. We were able to equalize though after Wolf played Harris around the right and he finished it low to the far post. Then before the half was over, Wolf pressed their back line and won the ball with only the keeper to beat and he made no mistake with his finish. Then in the second half it was Wolf again scoring after Kelly won the ball away from the defender and Wolf was the first to pounce on the loose ball and fire it home.

This game was all about Lio Messi. First it was the positives as he hooked up teammates twice in the first half to lead us to the 2-0 lead that would result in the final score. Then came the 60th minute when his shoulder injury following a jump for a ball resulted in him being in so much pain he had to be subbed off right away. We didn't know the extent of his injury until after the game but we were certainly bracing for BAD news based on how much pain he was in right away. Luckily he escaped anything close to a mild injury and will be back in no time for us.

Daniel Amartey was timely with his first goal in a Barça jersey as the B-squad dominated Almería on the pitch even if the scoreboard didn't reflect that so much. The home side failed to find the target on 4 shots while our guys had 7 shots on goal on 12 total shots. It should had been a 2-0 game but David Cruz Torres' penalty kick in the 70th minute was saved.

A preview of the Copa Del Rey final looked like no-contest as we absolutely dominated Levante at the Camp Nou. Müller continues to be in torrid form since February and when he's on like this we really look unbeatable.

Review: I said at the end of last month that we were in great form and that continues to be the case a month later. Three wins in three games in La Liga is all you can ask for and the teams behind us in the standings were unable to keep up, allowing our lead to increase to 14 points. It's still a tad too early to call this race but in the form we're in it's going to take a significant shake up for either Valencia or Real Madrid to challenge us for the league title. Our main rivals can hope to trim our lead a bit before the final El Clásico at the end of next month which we're likely to go into without the need of winning, although you can bet our sights are set on winning it after losing in the Bernabéu in the early part of the season.

On that note, it was definitely enjoyable to leave Real Madrid behind in the Spanish Cup to reach the final. Levante will be our opponent there, and if our match this month is any indication we stand a very good chance of winning the Copa Del Rey. We're in the driver's seat for two of the three competitions we're in, but now is when the road in the UEL starts to get bumpy. Schalke is a really good club with a strong squad that can contend for the title so I anticipate this will be easily our biggest challenge in Europe yet this season.

CAM - Javier Marquez (60 OVR, 87-93 POT): Now a 17-year old from Spain described as a playmaker. Marquez is a smaller prospect (5'5",143lbs) but he has exciting potential. We're hopeful he'll be able to develop into a winger.

CM - Esteban Fuentes (60 OVR, 80-94): 17-year old from Venezuela described as technically gifted. Fuentes looks like a promising midfielder for both the club and his country. He is very shifty, showcasing excellent ball control (78), dribbling (76) and agility (73).

LM - Pablo Acosta (56 OVR, 81-91): 17-year old from Argentina and yet another technically gifted prospect for the club. Acosta's agility (80) is easily his best attribute and he also possess the kind of pace (71acc/70spd) at his age that makes us comfortable about how he projects at his position.

LM - Ismael Barrios (57 OVR, 77-94)*: This 15-year old from Argentina is the newest technically gifted prospect in our academy. Barrios displays noticeable balance (74) and ball control (73) and has a ton of room to grow for being an already developed prospect.

ST - Flavio Mansilla (61 OVR, 80-86): 16-year old from Venezuela described as technically gifted. Mansilla is solidifying himself as the academy's top striker, showing excellent ball control (77) for his age.

CDM - Diego Menendez (47 OVR, 81-87): Now an 18-year old from Argentina described as technically gifted. Menendez is very raw but shows high potential so we were willing to take a bit of a gamble with him. His agility (83) is impressive for someone who is so raw overall.

CM - Emigdio Quiroga (58 OVR, 74-92): 17-year old from Argentina descried as technically gifted. Quiroga displays excellent ball control (80) and agility (78) early on.

RM - Luis Sanchez (53 OVR, 72-92)*: 15-year old from Argentina described as, you guessed it, technically gifted. Sanchez has good pace (69acc/65spd) for his age to go with notable agility (73).

CF - Eligio Domínguez (55 OVR, 78-86): 15-year old from Venezuela described as technically gifted. Domínguez doesn't have a particular attribute that jumps off the page but he projects as someone showing great potential.

CM - Jose Vargas (42 OVR, 76-90): This 15-year old from Argentina described as an attacker is the rawest prospect in the academy but his potential was too enticing to pass up on him. His pace (75acc/68spd) and agility (70) are what stand out at this time.

LM - Valerio Segura (58 OVR, 77-85): 17-year old from Venezuela who is technically gifted. Segura is a very agile (79) midfielder with good pace (74acc/69spd) who may be more of a fit as a winger in our system.

RB - Manuel Navarro (49 OVR, 77-83): 15-year old from Spain described by scouts as an attacker. Navarro actually possesses decent pace (72 acc/70 spd) at a very young age and is very agile (72) as well. However, he's so raw as a defender he can't even be called a defender at this time. He projects as a depth player.

CB - Sergio Torres (55 OVR, 74-80): 15-year old from Spain described as physically strong. Torres oozes some impressive traits for his young age such as his aggression (74), jumping (73), strength (65), and pace (71 acc/68 spd) but he's raw as a defender and will need to work hard on that aspect of his game.

CAM - Daniel Lugano (59 OVR, 74-80): Also a 17-year old Venezuelan described as technically gifted who is also very agile (79). Since I'm able to make better evaluations of Venezuelan prospects I know Lugano, who is 5'11" and 154lbs, can also play as either a CF or CM so we're excited about his versatility on the pitch.

After a strong WC Qualifying in which we finished only behind Argentina and Brazil, we couldn't ask for a much better last couple of performances before this summer's World Cup. We went to a short European trip and came up with a couple of wins, first in Moscow by thoroughly outplaying Russia then in London by surprising England with Becerra's header off a corner kick in the 17th minute, but more than anything thanks to Jonjo Shelvey losing his cool and earning a straight red card in the 25th minute. We absolutely dominated from that point on. We're as ready as we're going to be for the World Cup.

The schedule is packed in April and if we want to achieve our goals the schedule will get even more compacted, as getting past Schalke will mean two more games in the UEL on April 21st and 28th. If we maintain our form in La Liga it's very possible we may clinch the title before May. Wouldn't it be something if we clinch the league title at home against Real?
