Agreed. Being that close and falling short is tough, but still a great season for Hertha and motivation for next season!

Will have a Rubin Kazan update tomorrow, plus a new career with Numancia as I've been wanting to play in Spain.

Also I need to leave comments for rabbit.

            CD Numancia
            Rojillos

            Carrión Named Numancia Manager

CD Numancia are looking to take the next step in the
Segunda División by hiring Córdoba B boss Luis Carrión to lead the Castile and León side. Carrión, 37, is tasked to improve on a 10th place finish for Numancia a season ago. Numancia has only spent 4 total seasons in La Liga, the last being in 2008-09, and the Rojillos have never finished higher than 17th in the top flight. While promotion might not be expected in the first season, Carrión has stated that is his ultimate goal. More modest expectations would be a Segunda División playoff spot by finishing in the top 6 of the league table.

            Board Objectives

            Youth Development (Low)
            - Sign at least 2 players younger than 20 years old, with potential greater than the average overall rating of players currently in the same position.
            - Grow 1 Youth Academy player by at least 5 overall points. Play them in 5 matches, either as part of the Starting XI or coming in as a sub.

            Brand Exposure (Low)
            - Keep a streak of at least 85% attendance in 5 consecutive home matches.

            Financial (Medium)
            - Finish the season with
€3,000,000 unspent allocated funds (transfer budget and wage budget).

            Domestic Success (Medium)
            - La Liga 123: Finish Mid Table.
            - Copa del Rey: Reach the Round of 32 Stage.

            Continental Success (Very Low)
            - No Objectives.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

I painfully have to inform you all that my Dundalk series will not be posted anymore after I played 3 more seasons after my last post in League 1. I also allowed myself to sign non Irish players upon reaching the Championship. In the championship I managed to get the squad into the playoffs for promotion with a 5th place finish. We ended winning the playoff final on Penalties and got the squad.

Once in the Prem it was time to let Superstar striker Tony Cook move on to greener pastures and we sold him for 110 million pounds to Manchester United. In the current season we're in the Champions League after finishing 3rd in our Debut year in the prem. In league play we currently sit second on GD behind Spurs.

I'm into January with Numancia. Will try to drop several updates over the next few days. Also, going to hold off on Rubin Kazan as they are already too developed for my liking. Thinking Amkar Perm might be the alternative.

We Try. We Fail. We Win.

                            Season End Press Conference

Welcome, everyone. After a successful season, I shall take some of your questions in and answer. Let us begin.

Do you think that you can take that final step and complete the treble next season? (Kean Ohlson, Sky.de)

Yes, absolutely. As you saw this season, we were able to beat some of the biggest and best teams in Europe. This shows that Hertha is already at a very high level and our two back-to-back doubles prove our quality. Unfortunately our form didn't carry over to the final against Arsenal, but we still could have won the game. I can see our team playing in the Champions League final next year, too. We will win the competition then, though.

Can you improve your attack while maintaining your defensive solidarity?(K. Eano, Kicker)

I believe so. Nick Stark and Nick Süle are some of the best centrebacks in the world, and we are not willing to let them go. Our strong defensive game has been there for a couple of seasons now, and we are planning to keep that up.

As for our attack, I will not lie; I am disappointed in the amount of goals our frontmen scored. The chances were there but we simply didn't take them. We addressed this issue by fielding Breel (Embolo) in attack, but some injury problems troubled his season. Also, Julian Draxler is arriving in July and we all know what a talented and creative player he is. Furthermore, the boys will spend plenty of time practising shooting in training during the summer and hopefully it will improve our goal tally.

Will you seriously consider employing Embolo at striker full time? If not, could you describe the kind of striker you have in mind for the job? (Valentin Rabbstein, Sportbild)

I think Embolo did a fine job upfront and he really does have the capabilities to play in that position. Most likely he will continue to play at the top of our attack.

Will you be spending big or sticking mostly to what you've got? (Keano Sechszehner, BZ)

There are numerous money teams out there, but Hertha BSC is not and never will be one of them. Our squad is one of the best in the world and we are only looking to do some minor tweaking during the transfer window. You should not expect us to spend big money without a reason.

Alright, that's all we have time for. Thank you, everyone, for coming, and we will see each other next season.
                            ***

My apologies for not posting anything in almost two months. I had a busy and enjoyable summer vacation. I might hopefully post the summer update of next season in the next week or so.

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

                                Hope you've all been well.

After a bit of thought, I finally realised that my obsession with creating detailed stories for career mode posts was ruining my enjoyment of the game. So I've decided to step back and do basic updates, and maybe one in-depth post at the end of each season.

That said, I am pumped for FIFA 18 considering all the career mode innovations that are being impelemented. You can find the lot of them on Reddit at r/FifaCareers, but overall there's been a huge injection of visual and functional upgrades, including interactive negotiations with sell-on and release clauses.

Check it out when you've got time, guys. FIFA 18 will be well worth the wait and cost.
