How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

    Cardiff City Career Update

    November Games

    BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE

    Cardiff 1 - 5 Swansea

    Aston Villa 0 - 2 Cardiff

    Summary:

A very short month with only 2 games in it. A very disappointing loss to Swansea in the derby which saw us smashed 5-1. A much more positive showing at Villa with a 2-0 win and a clean sheet. In other news Juan Cala is still unsettled (not sure why), Lascelles is unhappy having only played one game, same with Eikrem, Souttar has requested a loan after only playing one game as well (he got an 8.2 rating and scored a goal, not too shabby for a 17 yo CB). The only reason they havnt been playing is because I am close to relegation zone and need to play my best players and also there is rarely fitness problems seeing that our games aren't close to each other (lucky me)

Players of the Season so far:

    Goalkeeper: David Marshall
    Defender: Juan Cala
    Midfielder: Jordon Mutch
    Striker: Sam Vokes

Overall Best Player so Far: Sam Vokes

(Must've played at least 6 games to qualify)

Notes: Sam Vokes has a average of 7.1 while Berahino has an average of 7.0

    League record so far: 4-2-5

    League Table Around Us:

    11. Stoke - 17
    12. Southampton - 15
    13. Cardiff - 14
    14. West Ham - 13
    15. Norwich - 12

Note: We have 2 games in hand on everyone around us. Two wins can see us head into 10th spot.

I just figured out why I only had two games last month...
I was really looking forward to getting to January quickly...

Hey guys, maybe someone could enlighten me.

So yesterday I wrote up and posted a HUGE first season analysis of my career mode and when I clucked post it said it would have to be checked by a moderator first, fair enough ( although it's never previously happened to my post), but now it's been nearly 24 hours and no sign of my post?

Perhaps someone could shine a light on this situation?

Who do you believe I should target/dump in January?

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

              Hey !

              Update on Everton Career Mode

              TRANSFERS
              OUT
Jelavic - $8,500,000 to Olympique Lyonnais
Fellaini - $18,000,000 to Manchester United (He wanted to leave the club, decent amount I got for him since he was rated at 9.5 mil, but nowhere near the astronomical amount United paid for him IRL :P )

              IN
Adryan - $6,000,000 from Flamengo - $30,000 a week for 4 years (Know I overpaid for him, but since he is young and a potential superstar, I decided to go for it anyway)
              Oliver Torres - $6,000,000 from Atletico Madrid - $75,000 a week for 5 years
Lazar Markovic - $12,000,000 from SL Benfica - $60,000 a week for 5 years (I got him as a replacement for Jelavic, he could develop very well)
Jese Rodriguez - $6,000,000 from Real Madrid - $60,000 a week for 5 years (Another striker, that could be a future superstar)

A net spend of $3,500,000 this time - which meant I had a few million plus some other reward money left, which helped me get another 5* judgement scout, who is now off to Belgium to get me my next superstars :P

Now that I have two super strikers (in the future), I am looking to get rid of Kone and Anchiebe in the next two seasons. However, right now my team looks fine. Apart from the defence, which is aging, and I need to do something about it as soon as I can. This will be contingent on my decision of whether I play a 4-1-3CAM-2 or a 3-5-2 formation... Which should hopefully happen soon...

29 games gone in the league, Everton's record stands at 21/4/4 with 67 points. 5 points off Manchester United. I sim most games except for those with the clubs I consider the 'top ones' (no offence intended to any fan :P )

Overall, my record at the People's Club stands at 29/4/5 from 38 games. helped Everton clinch the Capital One Cup by beating Liverpool 2-0. Got knocked out of the FA Cup by Huddersfield 2-1 while simming xD (PATHETIC)

Hopefully I can cling on to the Champions League spots. However, with the unrealistic expectations, the Board will expect me to win the title, which I dont think i will with a squad like this -.-

              Thoughts, if any?

I got bored of consistently ripping teams apart, with the likes of utd and arsenal. The problem is , I have nevwr played with such a rubbish team especially in a cm. Therefore Idont know what to do in he market and wih the squad. Shud I invest in the future with youth academies or work wihvwhat iv got. ? Im thinking of the extraordinary. Winning league 2 , league 1 m chakpionship, qualifying for europa, ucl , then winning bpl, wining ucl. Eayym !! That'll definitely taken at least 8 years. Cant wait, plz share your tips guys, and I will do regular updates.

Haven't done it in 14, but in 13 every time I would pick up a low division team I would purchase players with high potential. Chances are that if you picked a low division team, the squad is in the low 60s and probably aging as well. I would trade the older players for young ones (as long as they had potential higher than the old ones overall) that way while I'm fighting out promotion the youngsters are growing. By the time you get to the premier their overall should be at a competitive level.

Finished my first season with Lens, finishing in a disappointing 19th place with 29 points

Troyes, Auxerre and Nancy were promoted; Ajaccio, Guingamp and Sochaux were relegated

I didn't get fired because I reached the round of 32 in the Coupe of France, then I started my second season with a few key players out of my team

Coulibaly retired, Areóla went back to PSG and the club refused to renew the loan, Lbuboja, Funes Mori, Clar and Salli also got their loans finished

I brought Sanabria from Roma on loan to replace Lbuboja and Coulibaly, Schöpfer from Bayern played like 4 games and got injured and is out for 2 months, and Ward from Liverpool in place of Areóla

Now I'm with 13 points, 9 points away of the 3rd place after 9 matches

                          Another update coming soon

                            PSV

                            De Telegraaf
                            JULY 1st

After PSV decided not renew the contract of Dick Advocaat after a season in charge. PSV have appointed Youth Coach Jake Gaspar, 26. Gaspar, who was born in Perth Australia, moved to Eindhoven when he was 17 to join his Uncle's Business. With Gaspar's interests around football Gaspar's Uncle, good friends with the some board members got Gaspar a assistant coaching role at the PSV under 17's. He then became the head coach of the under 17's at the age of 20 and two years later became the Youth Coach of PSV. Winning three KNVB Cup youth cups in six years, His managerial potential was seen by many major european clubs, such as Everton, Real Sociedad and Inter Milan. However, Gaspar decided to stay at PSV to become the Manager of the Eindhoven club.

                            Press Conference

Reporter: Firstly how does it feel to become the Manager of such a major European football club.
Me:It's Great, being apart of this club since I left school and now become the manager. It's truly beyond my wildness dreams.

Reporter: You have received a lot of criticism for being such a inexperienced manager. What do you think?
Me: I don't care. I feel like I'm not inexperienced manager due myself managing for 9 years.

Reporter: PSV have lost some of their better players before you were appointed with Strootman, Lens, Mertens, Pieters, Engelaar and Marcelo leaving the club and van Bommel retiring. How will you cope with these changes?
Me: All these players were very important last year and will be missed. However, I think the Club and I have made some nice signings before the window opens plus the young talent we already have can compensate for these departures.

Reporter: Who are you looking to sign in this window?
Me: I think the team is already ready for the season opener, but don't be surprised if their are signings made.

Reporter: Players we should look out for?
Me: It's a World Cup year this year and I think we have some great Dutch talent that could make the trip to Brazil.

Reporter: Still on the World Cup. Do you think you will be hired by any international team.
Me: All I am focusing on is PSV, but if a nice offer pops up, who knows what will happen.

Reporter: What is your long term goal?
Me: For me I take each day as it comes. I am happy to be appointed as manager of PSV and I am not thinking whats next. All I want to do is to win trophies.

                            Reporter: Captains?
Me: Wijnaldum is our captain. He has captained the Dutch u21's and I think Georgino he is a great leader and can lead PSV for a long time. The Vice Captains are Toivonen and Schaars. Both are experienced campaigners and can lead when Georgino is absent. Also Park can lead the side if all three ar not playing.

                            Me: Thankyou for coming.

Think I have a touch of deja vu. As a kid I saw Albion win 4-3 at Upton Park having trailed 3-0, there have been at least a couple of 3-3s too. Must be something about the two teams!

Really enjoyed this episode as always. I've got high hopes for your second season, that front three looks scary at the moment.

Baggies confirm departures, close in on Mel replacement

West Bromwich Albion today confirmed the departure of eleven players from The Hawthorns. Out of contract players Steven Reid, Zoltan Gera and Scott Allan will not be offered new deals, while the club has decided not to take up it's one year option on Liam Ridgewell and enforced the break clause in Diego Lugano's contract. Right back Billy Jones has also left the club having been unable to agree terms on a new deal despite several rounds of negotiation.

In addition to that sextet The Baggies are unlikely to pursue any of their five departing loanees. Goran Popov, Scott Sinclair and Thievy Bifouma all struggled to hold down regular roles in the team, with Matej Vydra disrupted by injuries and Morgan Amalfitano betraying his talent by a severe lack of application. The cull is indicative of a miserable season for Albion that saw them stay up in 17th on 36 points, owing more to the incompetence of the three relegated sides than anything they themselves acheived.

Albion did today appear to move a step closer to identifying Pepe Mel's successor. Following the addition of Terry Burton as Technical Director, The Baggies appear to have settled on their own Development Coach Rafa di Gaffa as their favoured candidate. Such an appointment would signal Albion's intention to promote academy prospects to fill some of the gaps created by the mass exodus, with di Gaffa having coached the likes of Saido Berahino, George Thorne et al throughout their development.
