Just wondering, do all of y'all play every single match? If not, how often do you sim? I play 15 minute halves so at the most I can get in 3 matches a day. I usually only sim the friendlies.

I honestly SIM more than I play, depending on the CM I may play 1 in 3 or 1 in 5. Some CMs I only SIM. If I start in league two then I only play important games. I just set a goal and play games when I feel like I may not reach that goal.

I try to play every single match, but I'm only at 5 minutes per half so I can play many games in a row without spending too much time. Every time I play 6+ minutes halves my games end 8-5 or something like that, not sure why.

I don't even sim friendlies!
Like to try different formations and players in those games.

i play with 15 minute halves and i always play every single match.
the thing is in league football every game is equally important and i don't see the point in simming it just to rush through the seasons.

just got to the halfway mark in my first season with liverpool.

underwhelming performance tbh, but i came from a horrid start, so the momentum is of a recovery.

btw, i'll probably stop recording these videos and updating my dinasty thread. it's nice being able to go back, read what has happened and watch some goals again, but this proccess of editing and uploading a video and writing a report for every single game is becoming really tiresome :/

My play-to-sim ratio is probably about 65-35. My general preference is to play the cup and most league away matches , and simulate everything else. I tend to play more matches early in the season and test my players with simulating them while they're in good form.

Has anyone else had a player get "homesick" and ask to be transfer listed?

This just happened to me with Adryan in year 4 of my CM, and his 3rd season at my club, Leyton Orient. Long story short, right before the January window, I accept his request and put him on the transfer list, and the board sends me an email saying he WILL be sold. Ok, I get it. I'll sell him. He's on the transfer list. Then not a single offer came in during the first week of the window, and I receive a message telling me the board has sold him.

He's 22 years old and 76 OVR with a value of $6.5M, and they sold him to Newcastle. For $5.5M. Are you kidding me? Newcastle is 7th in the table and my club is 4th!!! And since when is Newcastle closer to Brazil than London?!?

I think this is EA trying to piss us off to make us play more FUT with this type of logic.

anyway, i had this bull**** in my fifa13 milan career. i had to sell pato at the end of season 1 because he was "homesick".

In a Real Madrid CM I just started, Ronaldo asked to be traded after the first La Liga match of the season; I went ahead and traded him for Marco Reus. That homesick thing is kind of dumb but I see what EA is trying to do and that's to make CM as unpredictable as possible.

Team: AFC Bournemouth
League: Championship
Difficulty: Legendary
Time: 8 minute halves

This is different than any I've done before, as I wanted to start with a team that had never been to the Premier League before (to my knowledge), while not needing to start in League 2 like I have in past years. I also didn't want to use the financial takeover option, while still wanting to have some of "my players" right away. What I settled on was this scenario: A wealthy American purchased AFC Bournemouth with the intent of turning them into a Premier League power with American stars and hired me to be the manager. Along with the move we were able to bring in Brian Taylor an 81 rated 18 year old (created) striker and Josh Weber a 78 overall 18 year old center back (also created). Their values were 12 and 5 million respectively, so in effect, it is like a mini financial takeover without adding money to the team.

Restrictions: Because I created two players, I forced myself to play on Legendary when I've only ever played on World Class due to the advantage the created players compared to the real Bournemouth side.
I must first send my scout (which I have done) to the United States to find talent. I will send scouts in the future to Germany and Poland when I gain the funds, as those are the other two countries I have visited (on a May Term for school this past summer).

Current Team: 4-2-3-1 Wide

Allsop 62 ovr- (Early 20's) I plan to find a replacement for him and have a 15 year old in my Academy who looks ready for the task when he turns 16.

LB- Daniels 65 ovr-(27 yrs old) He's played great but won't last more than a year or so longer.

CB- Weber 79 ovr-(18 years old) My best defender, will remain for years if possible.

CB- Addison- 67 ovr (Early 20's) Serviceable, but an upgrade is needed.

RB- Cook- 67 ovr (Early 20's) Needs to be replaced

CDM- Surman 70 ovr (Late 20's) Plays well, but is on loan from Norwich and won't be part of my future plans.

CDM- Ayoub 68 ovr (19) I was hoping for better for the $1.5 million price from FC Utrect, but he's better than anything else I have in this role.

LM- Fraser 69 ovr (19) He's grown by three and is a speedster on the left. Good quality and part of future plans for sure.

RM- Gnabry 68 ovr (18) I've heard about him at Arsenal and decided to bring him in for $1.4 million when my scout found him. He provides good strength and crossing although he's yet to find the back of the net.

CAM- Rantie 66 ovr (22) Originally a striker, he's a speedster with great attack and I just can't keep him out of the lineup. He's sent in multiple crosses for Taylor and they have a great partnership.

ST- Taylor 83 ovr (18) Already one of the best strikers I've seen, he's got 18 goals in 20 games played for me. Great in the air, a powerful shot, and quick to boot, I'll do whatever I can to hold onto him.

Super Sub CAM- Vaz 58 ovr (16). From Brazil, since acquiring via from the scout a future pro part of the catalog, he's played very well and found the back of the net twice. He's my future at CAM with a potential ranging from 85-91.

So Far: Almost half way through, we currently sit 15th in the league on 28 points through 22 games. Legendary is a struggle, although I did sit 6th for a time before a horrible run of form where I didn't win in 6 matches. Our attack has been good with Taylor dominating the middle scoring 16 league goals to this point. The defense is what's letting us down, with only 5 clean sheets in 24 games. I will focus on upgrades here in January if possible.
In the Capital One Cup, we won our first match before losing a tough match to West Brom 3-1. I'm hoping to do better in the FA Cup to earn so additional funds.

Expectations: The board wants me to finish Mid Table and that's realistic given the start of the season. By the end of the year, I hope to acquire some stronger defensive players to compliment Weber, as my offensive needs are filled for the future. I also hope that players will develop so we can make a run in year to to gain promotion to the Premier League next season.

Alex Nimly from man city is pretty good, you can get him for under a mil and he's about 68 in the second season. Jack? Butland is a good goalie starts at 71 and has good potential, cost around 2 mil to buy(worth right at 1). the best goalie in the game IMO is Nicola Leali, he's an absolute beast, starts at 72 but in my York City CM I bought him in my League one season for 3 mil and he went all the way up to 89!!!!! I had to pay him ridiculous wage to sign him tho.

What was your ridiculous wage so far he won't take 45k was hours higher than that and is he worth it?

This has happened to me with a couple players all you have to do is literally wait it out and they will say your club feels like home sorry for bringing the team down and they will be fine. I'm in my third season and it had happened 2 times and every time they are fine and come back

What was your ridiculous wage so far he won't take 45k was hours higher than that and is he worth it?

I had to give him 75k(dollars), I had just sold a guy for over about 6 mil and it all went to Leali, 4 mil to Juventus and 75k to sign. In the long run he's worth it because from the 3rd season on for me he improved by at least 3-4 points a year.

you could get Butland a lot cheaper and he's not THAT far behind

@cardinal: i just wouldn't do it myself because i don't like fake players, but i loved the idea of your career, very creative way to simulate a financial takeover and have a shot with a lowly team without having to play in silly difficulty levels (i start to feel like sofifa can actually be useful for something like that if you use it in a "not-too-cheaty" way).

you don't mess with sliders, right? legendary is tough as hell, man. you need to be really really good to be competitive on it, props for trying. i don't know how conservative you are about this, but you probably will have a more balanced difficulty if you add some points to the cpu pass error slider. not many, just something like 52 or 53 instead of 50. this would work like a difficulty level in-between wc and legendary, with the cpu still as smart as on legendary, just a little less accurate.

this is just a suggestion, and i haven't tested these values i suggested for the slider, i'm kinda guessing =)
