Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I've got 2 games left in October so that update should be out tonight, just have to get through another 8 hours of work first before I can get started haha. The January window can't come soon enough! I am planning to use the money from the Redshaw sale to go after 4 players on pre-contract agreements. Also have plans for a new formation in mind, but I need to get the right players to make it work. That's what I plan on getting with those 4 players. I tested it out in one game and it is extremely stout defensively, but I still don't have the right personnel to make the attack work well from the formation. The good news is that the players I am targeting are perfect for it, but also can work well in the 4-1-4-1 I currently am using so it will give me options.

Also hoping to have enough left over to send out a youth scout to start my academy.

Guys, after this season I'm pretty certain I will be in the CL - and that 3rd season - I want to win the treble or atleast the double - and then take a job offer possibly - or stay a fourth, fifth and so on, I just need your help on deciding for me on what I should do?! Please.

I think you should do what you think is best. If you win the treble, I think, if it were me, I would take another job offer, but not like a really good team i.e. Real Madrid, Barcelona, etc. but a decent team that isn't quite there yet. With that, you could even buy some of your old players back to whatever team you would go to. Don't forget to go into browse jobs and look around there when you decide its time.

Yeah you're right, I'm hoping the likes of Villa, Toulouse, Inter, Roma, Sevilla will be on the job list, but I want to get the lads at the moment a major trophy - so I'm hoping I win the Europa League this year for Howard, Jagielka, Distin, Barry, Hibbert - ya know? but I could even once hopefully winning the treble just end this career and start a new one with one of those teams? I just don't know yet, but I like all ideas and am open to discussion! However, I'd prefer people who enjoy the Everton one, to tell me there views and tell me what THEY think I should do, because I do this for them

              Challenging the Champions

Hertha BSC's Captain Rejects Contract Offer!

Really unpleasant news hit Hertha Berlin's board and manager when the team's captain, the Swiss 25 years old Valentin Stocker decided to reject a contract extension. Stocker himself asked for a contract extension just week ago which makes the rejection even more weirder. The Swiss man earns 45.000 euros a week at the moment and the new contract would have given him 70.000 euros per week. The captain of the Blau-Weiss can still change his mind and the board is doing everything they can to get him to stay.

On the bright side, a total of nine players accepted a contract extension, the biggest stars being Pierre-Michel Lasogga who's earning now 80.000 a week, Mateo Kovacic who gets 70.000 a week, the top goal scorer Adrian Ramos, 60.000 a week, Thomas Kraft who's salary is now 50.000 per week and Marcos Rojo, also 50.000 per week. Other players were Daley Blind, Maximilian Meyer, Enner Valencia and Memphis Depay. The manager Ganchev said that he's "really happy to keep these wonderful players" and that "I'll do everything, even the impossible to keep Stocker".

              February 2015

Hertha 1 - 0 Bayern Munich, DFB Pokal Quarter Finals
              Schär 5'

Ganchev's side dominated their rivals at the sold out Olympiastadion. The atmosphere was amazing and it completely exploded when Fabian Schär put the Berliners in the lead only after five minutes from a corner. After their goal Hertha didn't park the buss and they kept pressing and trying to get more goals. The capital's cup had their chances, including Lasogga's shot which hit the crossbar in the 67th minute. Bayern tried to equalize but Ganchev's side defended too well for the Bavarians. Untill the 88th minute. Mario Götze, the little traitor played a through pass to Thiago who received the ball in the box. Hertha's right back Jung catched him and slid into a challenge. He got the ball but away but also took Thiago down. The referee blowed the whistle and Jung got sent off. Ganchev on the sidelines couldn't believe what happened and he ran to argue with the referee. This time the Bulgarian didn't get sent out and from the replays Jung touched Thiago's leg right before the ball. Thomas Müller put the ball on the spot. He started his run. Thomas Kraft, Hertha's keeper was doing the thing Dudek did against Milan. Kraft took a step to the right, Müller shot to the left and Thomas Kraft dived the right way saving the ball! The sold out stadium exploded and the fans were chanting Kraft's name. Thanks to that man Bayern got knocked out of the cup and after the final whistle Ganchev ran to kiss his goalie.

Arsenal 1 - 2 Hertha, Champions League Round of 16
              Dzeko 82'
              Ramos 27', Kovacic 40'

Hertha's first knock-out match since 1999 in the Champions League ended positively for the Berliners when they faced the English Foursena... giants. That's what I meant. Hertha continued their good possession form and they got the first goal when Ramos received the ball from Stocker. Ramos cut in, ran past Koscielny and finished a powerful shot to the right hand side. A bit after that Kovacic got the ball at the left edge of the box, he cut in past Sagna with stepovers and then the Croatian scored a similar goal to Ramos' one. Then the game slowed down a bit. Arsenal had a couple of chances, all saved by Thomas Kraft. They got their goal in the 82nd minute after some poor defending which lead to Dzeko curling the ball to the bottom corner. Hertha got the victory and two away goals. A good beginning to the knock-out games.

              Hertha 1 - 0 Stuttgart
              Ramos 19'

              Hoffenheim 0 - 2 Hertha
              Stocker 37', Valencia 81'

              League Table, March 1st

              1. Hertha BSC, 70 pts
              2. VfL Wolfsburg, 58 pts
              3. Bayern Munich, 56 pts
              4. Borussia Dortmund, 48 pts
              5. Hamburger SV, 46 pts
              6. FC Schalke 04, 42 pts
              ---------------------------------------------------
              16. FC Kaiserslautern, 18 pts (playoff spot)
              17. Werder Bremen, 14 pts
              18. FC St. Pauli, 10 pts

              Press Conference

Good Afternoon, Mr Ganchev. What do you think about your results?

They were amazing. We conceded only one goal in four games and it was against a good team. The result against Bayern was really nice and I have to thank Thomas (Kraft) for everything he did in the game. It feels always good to take down a big opposition in the cup and that's what we did. Against Arsenal we didn't play that well, our passing wasn't the greatest but we did all we needed. To be honest, I don't believe in Arsenal's chances in the second leg in Berlin. And the other two games were easy and we did what everyone expected.

How does playing in three competitions influence the team?

There isn't much difference. The boys are always doing their best, no matter against who we are playing. The trainings are a little bit easier because of the midweek games and the players are really calm and professional.

Your lead in the league has grown up to twelve points. Do you think you can keep up the form till the end?

I'm absolutely sure of it. Look at our team, it's pure quality. We have dropped only four points this season in the league and that's amazing. It would be a sin not to win the league!

How is Stocker's contract stuff advancing?

And that's all for today. Thank you for your time!

No problem, it was a pleasure.

Thank you for reading the post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback and suggestions will be appreciated!

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Well, end of December. A decent month, and real quick, I want to give you an example of how valued Theo Walcott really is. The first day of the transfer window, VFL Wolfsburg offered me 19.5 for him, so I said 90 or get out. So, he's safe because VFL Wolfsburg doesn't have half that . We also have a very nice youth academy going, I'll just tell you the potentials real quick. Ben Knight from England: 47-61 overall, 80-94 potential, either a ST or RW. Fernando Castro from Argentina: 57-61 overall, 87-93 potential, CAM. Luke Sawyer from England: 58-64 overall, 85-94 potential, LM. And Sammie Prutton from England: 47-57 overall, 74-92 potential. I might end up releasing him, we'll see how his potential comes along. With that, here are the results.

                  Southampton 2 - 3 Sunderland
                  Rodriguez 8'
                  Oxlade-Chamberlain 13'
                  Walcott 32'
                  Davis 63'
                  Walcott 66'

                  Sunderland 0 - 0 Tottenham

                  Heracles 0 - 0 Sunderland

                  West Ham 2 - 2 Sunderland
                  Nolan 52'
                  Carroll 61'
                  Oxlade-Chamberlain 69'
                  Altidore 86'

                  Sunderland 2 - 4 Chelsea
                  Eto'o 27' PEN
                  Altidore 33'
                  Ramires 35'
                  Oscar 52'
                  Willian 74'
                  Altidore 76'

                  Sunderland 1 - 0 Norwich City
                  Vergini 28'

                  Everton 2 - 1 Sunderland
                  Walcott 2'
                  Traore 32'
                  Barkley 47'

Those were the results this month, We sit 2nd with 40 points after 19 games, Manchester City has 49 points after 19 games. If you have any other questions, please ask. I will be trying to get Henry in January, and wish me luck.

Stay until you win the treble. Then maybe move on. At least that's what I'd do. Finish the mission you have started.

Another amazing episode mate well done, love reading these! What difficulty you on bro? To be 12 point clear of the table is just un believable for a team newly promoted a few seasons back, but well deserved!

Wow, thank you a lot! That means a lot to me Your Everton career is also really good, keep it up! There should be one more Hertha update posted in hour-and-a-half maximum, so be sure to check it out.

I'm playing on World Class, 4 minute halves. And I don't know how but I'm doing it. The team is just playing really well and at the moment there isn't match for me! I will destroy your little clubs, starting with Alcorcon and ending in Sunderland! I will be the leader of the world! Muahahaa!

I just don't know yet, but I like all ideas and am open to discussion! However, I'd prefer people who enjoy the Everton one, to tell me there views and tell me what THEY think I should do, because I do this for them

Of those you mentioned, Villa and Sevilla really caught my attention. I think it's really up to you when it's time to leave Everton, but are you going to stay in the same career mode or start a new one? I think you should leave once you win the treble, or even if you just win the double. That's my opinion, I guess we'll see what everybody else thinks.
