    How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

    It Only Took 14 Years

    As you already know, the "Phoenix Club" AFC Wimbledon have been promoted to the Premier League! The club achieved 8 promotions in 14 years, becoming the first club founded in the 21st century, not only to ascend to the Football League the fastest, but to be promoted to the Premier League as well. Thousands of fans at Kingsmeadow shed tears as they witnessed their club rise from the Combined Counties league to now the Barclay's Premier League. The hashtag #ItOnlyTook14Years is a current trend on Twitter followed by #WeAreWimbledon, #TheRealDons, and finally #mkWho. Chavez will now have his hands full as he prepares for next season, but first lets take a look at Wimbledon's final match of the season.

    FA Cup Final
    AFC Wimbledon 2 - 3 Tottenham
    WIM: Murphy 43' Tafazolli 113'
    TOT: Soldado 57' Eriksen 105' Dembele 115'
    A great match that we didn't want to end. Murphy opened the score but not from a direct shot. He attempted a cross but the Tottenham captain Dawson deflected the ball with his chest, which then rose over the keeper, hit the far post, and went into the net. Soldado equalized in the second half and the match went into halftime where most of the action took place as you can see. Lloris made some of the best saves of the entire tournament today, stopping every incredible shot Terry Gornell gave him. The Wimbledon players were very emotional after this tough defeat, but Chavez was quick to remind his players that just the fact they made it this far is already one of the club's greatest achievements.

    FL Championship Promotion Table
    1. Fulham - 106 points (auto-promoted)
    2. AFC Wimbledon - 91 points (auto-promoted)
    3. QPR - 89 points (promoted via playoffs)
    4. Wigan Athletic - 85 points (playoff runners-up)
    5. Reading - 84 points
    6. Bolton - 80 points

    Cup Progress

    Capital One Cup: Quarter Finals - Chelsea Champion

    FA Cup: Final - Tottenham Champion

    Europa League: Semifinals - Tottenham Champion (back-to-back champion)

    Champions Cup: N/A - Borussia Dortmund Champion

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The Don's goalkeeper Ross Worner has won the Golden Glove award for the 3rd time in a row after finishing this season with 15 clean sheets!! Julio Cesar finished right behind him with 14 clean sheets. Fulham's new striker Lima was awarded the Golden Boot with 19 goals, while Wigan's McClean finished with the most assists at 13. No AFC Wimbledon player made it to the Top 5 of those two awards.
    Terry Gornell was awarded the Golden Boot in the Europa League with 13 goals while his fellow teammate Jacob Murphy had the most assists at 8.
    32 year old Jack Midson has signed a new 1-year contract with Wimbledon which includes a 100% salary increase, a 5% bonus per goal, and a lesser squad role. Here are Midson's words regarding the new contract. "I'm glad to be able to stay at this club even if I won't be seeing as much play time. Chavez sat down with me and explained to me what he has for my future and we were able to reach an agreement. I'm very excited to be part of this team's first ever Premier League squad."
    A reminder that Luke Freeman will be joining AFC Wimbledon at the end of his contract with Stevenage in July. His arrival may mark the possible departure of 21 year old left-back Tom Richards from AFC Wimbledon. Richards has been with the senior team since 2013 when he was only 18 and has been a starter in Chavez's lineup since his arrival in League 2, but this year the player has puffed his chest out a little too much. Earlier in the season the player demanded a salary raise. The Wimbledon staff agreed with his demands, but the player still refused to sign the contract. He let the rumors of his departure drag on and on for months until finally signing the new contract in January. After signing the new contract, the player was never happy at the club and frequently criticized the management staff. This led to the player finally losing his starting spot to Elliott Hewitt in the FA Cup final. It is said that Chavez may experiment with new formations in the upcoming preseason, but even if he doesn't, Luke Freeman is a player that can play anywhere on the left wing and can easily take Richard's place. Here is what Chavez had to say regarding Richards. "If he didn't want to sign the new contract he didn't have to sign it. Simple as that. Nobody forced him to sign. There was absolutely no need to sign the new contract and then sit back and criticize the staff's work. That is disrespectful to the club, the players, and most importantly the fans as we have all worked hard to get this far. Listen, we love all of our homegrown players, but if the player doesn't want to be here then hey, the door is right over there. We need players that are committed to this club and remember where they came from. I can tell you that Richards forgot what he is playing for: the fans."
    Strong words from Chavez but we agree with all of them. Well, that is all we have for you today. Don't forget to tune in tomorrow as we will bring to you detailed squad report with our ratings. For HYFCMG this has been ChicoBass, Thanks for reading!
    Hope I didn't forget anything as it is late and I'm ready for bed! See you guys tomorrow!
        Well from achieving promotion the board gave me 60k (Gee thanks a lot) from the FA Final I received about 1.5m and from the Europa I got somewhere close to that as well. After the prize monies I ended up having a 6.6m budget which I invested completely in a 4*/4* scout to replace my current 1 star scout and 2 star scout. I still haven't started the new season since I still need to post the squad report. Really looking forward to the difficulty in the Premier!
          Portsmouth 2013-2014 season
          A Difficult month follows with matches against S****horpe, Rochdale and Stoke in the Capital one cup, with a few other equally challenging games. This will be a real test for the depth and quality of Portsmouth.
          After what I call 'A perfect Month' we have not just got back into promotion placing but are also lying in pole position. Best players so far are Jervis, Taylor, Barcham, Carson and Bradley. All five players are in top form and really proving why we should be back in league one next year. I though I would show you how well your teams are doing in the league, or how bad.
          A slightly less difficult month in October but with a bitter end to it having been drawn away at Man City in the Capital one cup :/ Till next time!
              Alright, that's it. Screw college and university, I'm moving to America and becoming a stand-up comedian. But if it doesn't work out... I will find you, and I will kill you... with jokes.
              Yeah, it's pretty annoying when you fight for your live in the Championship and all you get is 60k, isn't it? You know what? I'll rob a bank for you guys. Who's in with me?
              We'll see if the scout decision will backfire. I would've done the wage trick with that money. Hopefully the scout pays off. Where did you send him?
                Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
                I've decided to do a Accrington Stanley career as well as continuing with Aston Villa. I started earlier and played a few competitive games and I love it!
                Their starting budget was only €200k so unlike previous careers you've got to spend every penny WISELY.
                Most of the money was put into the youth academy since there's no obvious weak spot in the team.
                I have to say there's a big difference between playing in League 2 then the prem.
                I will update on Stanley at the end of September.
                    No I haven't stopped Villa at all, far from it I'm running 2 careers at the same time but may choose to stop Villa at the end of the season if it becomes too much.
                      TOON TO THE TOP
                      SEASON 2
                      Match 16
                      Sunderland 0-4 Newcastle
                      Depay 18
                      Depay 32
                      De Jong 77
                      Remy 87
                      As Jamiec47's Newcastle took on Regens4Life's Sunderland in the Stadium of Light there was a great atmosphere. Despite Regen's attempts to make Arsenal the main rivalry, the fans and players still saw this as the biggest. Depay curled in the opener before smashing in on the rebound. De Jong headed in a corner before Remy smashed in late on to complete the rout.
                      Champions League Match 6
                      Newcastle 3-1 Real Madrid
                      Remy 13
                      Remy 25
                      Carvajal 89 (OG)
                      Ronaldo 90
                      What a result. We took the lead when Remy got to the ball before Casillas and dinked it over him. He then tackled Pepe and curled in to make it 2. After a brilliant display by both Begovic and Casillas afterwards, Aubameyang's shot was fumbled and Carvajal turned in the rebound. Ronaldo got one back, the ball bouncing off of him from a clearance.
                      Final Group Table
                      Newcastle 12
                      Inter 12
                      Real Madrid 10
                      Legia Warsaw 1
                      Money Haul
                      It is said that Newcastle United received a blockbuster £10 million for progressing from the Group Stage. According to the club, all of the money will be put into the transfer budget to ensure the team can go further in the competition.
                      Match 17
                      Newcastle 0-1 Manchester City
                      Jovetic 26
                      Jovetic got the only goal in an even game, slotting it in from the edge of the area. Both keepers shone throughout the match.
                      Match 18
                      Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle
                      Van Ginkel 26
                      Depay 45
                      Matic 66
                      Van Ginkel opened the scoring, placing in off the post. Depay equalised, thundering it past Courtois from close range but Matic headed in to win it for Chelsea.
                      Match 19
                      Newcastle 1-0 Wigan
                      Roux 89
                      In a hard fought contest, substitute Roux tapped in at the far post from a low ball in by Aubameyang.
                          No, I haven't seen more attendance. I think it gets up only when starting from the bottom leagues of a country and when you get promoted.
                          Your squad looks pretty nice but I'm not really sure about those under-70's. Will they be able to handle the good teams of La Liga? And that 3.5 million budget is a joke. Maybe try to sell your favourite Paredes for three times his worth or spend the money on loans and low 70's? I believe in your skills to do the right decisions!
                          Amazing finish in the league, congratulations! But QPR, if they don't get promoted something bad will probably happen. And a spectacular run in Europa League, you should only be proud of your team. How much money did you get from there? I also hope the board gives a nice transfer budget.
                          I vote for Gijon (which is pronounced like "Hihon", right?). Firstly, right now there is only one guy who will be making La Liga updates. Secondly, it's your team. You'll be more passionate about the career and you will continue it untill you don't win anything. But then comes the getting bored-part. I hope that doesn't happen.
                          HSV would also be a good choice. They have a nice team with room of improvement and they failed badly last season. They need someone to get them back to the top again.
                          That's one of the cons I see with Sporting. And, If I do great things with them, I'll feel a bit unreal, and probably leave the career or go to another team.
                          Yes, it's more o less pronounced like that jeje.
                            Haha I like you putting the other clubs being used by users here on the table. Although it looks like my Morecambe squad isn't doing so well.... They are just holding back to make their final push more dramatic.
                                I vote Gijon. You will know the players and the club better than anything else you could do and it would have more meaning to you.
