Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
AD Alcorcon - '17-'18 Season
August Update
My latest update was more of mid-August update. This is the update after the flu month has gone by. I've listed some transfers news in my previous post so what follows is any activity since.
TRANSFERS IN: Vladimir Rankovic (RB, 67 OVR), brought from Bayern Munich for $600K. Will provide competition for Navarro.
TRANSFERS OUT: Alex Rubio (ST, 69 OVR), loaned to Newcastle United; Steve Leo Beleck (ST, 68 OVR), sold to Brescia for $1.1 million; Fernando Alonso (CM, 60 OVR), sold to Hibernian FC for $220K.
As I mentioned before, just 3 games this month so let's get to them.
League Match 1
Villareal FC - AD Alcorcon (2-1)
Yamura '9
Rafael '43
Natkgo ' 82
League Match 2
AD Alcorcon - RC Deportivo (0-2)
Luan '8
Kolar '77 (P)
League Match 3
Sevilla FC - AD Alcorcon (1-2)
Farago '55
Elm ' 74
Gabriel ' 78
Not the greatest start to the season but we competed in every game and I feel good about that. It's only been 3 games so no standings in this update, just know that I'm 13th place at the moment. Yamura's goal was the club's first in La Liga and as such I wanted to share it with you all.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/WHn5iYhqYpg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
(I still don't know how to make it so it's not so blurry but whatever)
In case y'all forgot I am still the head coach for the Venezuelan national team and even though we're eliminated from World Cup qualifiers I still want to do my best there. I'll have games vs Ecuador and Chile to start off September before I play 5 league games.
Nothing else to report other than after this transfer window I still have nearly $.4.5 million in transfer budget and just over $85K in wages so I'll be in pretty good position to make a couple of moves in the winter window. There are 14 kids in my youth academy, tops among them a 16 Y/O winger from Nigeria currently at 67-71 OVR with 89-94 POT. I hope nobody but him demand to be called up to the senior squad. No scouts are being sent out at this time.vrabbit

Tough start but hey it's only the first 3 matches and you stole 3 points from a stronger team Sevilla. Awesome goal to start off the season as well! Didn't look blurry to me by the way. Crystal clear and I'm on hotel wifi.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Dagenham - '14-'15 Season
August Update
Pretty much the same deal here, this is your update for the full month of August after providing more of a mid August update last night. As such I'll only post the latest transfers.
TRANSFERS OUT: None.
TRANSFERS IN: Luis Valencia (ST, 60 OVR), purchased from Envigado FC for $475K + Ricardo Santos. He becomes an immediate starter in our attack next to Josh Scott; Ahmed Mohsen (CF, 55 OVR), free agent signing for depth at the position. 18 Y/O, 5'7" right footed player from Egypt with 5-stat weak foot.
A lot to get to for this month so ...
League Match 1
Barnsley - Dagenham (1-1)
Torres '55
Jennings '70
Capital One Cup - Round 1
Dagenham - Bradford City (0-0, 4-3 PK's)
League Match 2
Dagenham - Crawley Town (1-0)
Escalante '82
League Match 3
Gillingham - Dagenham (1-2)
Elito ' 14
Linganzi '29
Scott '56
League Match 4
Dagenham - Preston (1-0)
Scott '60
J. Paint Trophy - Round 1
Dagenham - Brentford (2-0)
Elito '30
Scott '54
League Match 5
Walsall - Dagenham (2-2)
Lalkovic '37
Scott '64
Valencia '79
George '90
Football League 1 Standings
1. Brentford - 13pts
2. Dagenham - 11 pts
3. Portsmouth - 10pts
4. Coventry City - 9pts
5. Yeovil Town - 9 pts
6. Crawley Town - 9pts
The first game of the season was very frustrating due to outshooting Barnsley 13-1 (6-1 on goal). The win against Bradford City is the first time EVER that I go to PK's in a competitive game in all of my years of playing FIFA (dating back to FIFA '98) so that was nerve wrecking. I wish I could give Derbyshire some credit but the 2 PK's missed were off the crossing post. League 1 is slightly more challenging than League 2 but I feel my boys will do well this season. Scott has a 4-game scoring streak going on at the moment (yes, he of the 56 OVR rating - scored 19 goals in all competitions last season). Wilkinson, Dennis, Ogogo, Saah, and Doe all agreed to contract extensions and we no longer have any contracts expiring at the end of this season!
In other news ....

Paez accepts offer to coach the Peruvian National team
I was really shocked that I didn't receive one single offer last season to coach a national team and this one is the first one I've received in this CM. I was happy to accept it because I'm 100% Peruvian blooded (if confused, you can ask) and I'm familiar with South American soccer so I like the idea of taking over this team. Good team but not a lot of depth. There are A LOT of friendlies scheduled for this season and Copa America should be coming up at some point in 2015 so I'm looking forward to that.
I'm back near bankruptcy again after this latest transfer window but I did manage to send one scout out for 3 months ... to Peru of course. The academy continues to have just 5 prospects in it at the moment, and in case you forgot (which you probably did because you probably don't care) here they are:
- Jamie Black (GK, 51-55 OVR, 72-78 POT): An intriguing 17 Y/O prospect from Scotland who stands at 6'7", 194lbs.
- Kagetoki Miyoshi (DEF, 57-61, 79-85): Now a 16 Y/O kid from Japan who is someone we're very excited about and may find himself on the team this season though I will try contain myself and keep him in the Y.A. for another season.
- Stefan Reichel (CDM, 51-55, 69-73): 16 Y/O from Germany needs at least another season in the academy.
- Kenneth Hansen (MID/ATT, 46-50, 66-74): 15 Y/O from Denmark may need two more seasons in the academy.
- Manuel Burchert (???, 47-51, 69-77): 16 Y/O from Germany whose position is still undecided.
* Denotes recent addition to the Y.A.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Quick question, once you've received an international offer from a 4 star team for example, is it still possible to receive offers from 1-3 star teams, or will the future international offers only be for bigger countries than the last one offered? The reason I ask is because I wanted the Wales challenge for this career mode, but when the job was offered I was focused on Wimbledon. Now that I received an offer from Scotland I'm not sure if that means Wales will never offer again and instead the doors will open for bigger teams. I really like the challenge Scotland has offered me, but I was actually saving them for a Leeds United career (Ross McCormack) thanks in advance!Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Interesting. So even if I were to accept Scotland, I could still possibly receive an offer from Wales in the future? I have never taken an international job in '14 by the way.
So Rabbit is a Peruvian born in Venezuela but raised in the US? Argentina has to be squeezed in there somewhere too... LolComment

BRISBANE ROAR FC: CHAMPIONSHIP OR BUST
Brisbane -- In 2005, Queensland sporting authorities formed the Queensland Roar FC, to represent Queensland in the newly formed Australian A-League. In the inaugural season (2005), Queensland Roar finished 6th in the table (of 8 teams). The following season saw a slight improvement, with Roar FC finishing 5th. 2007 saw a similar improvement, with Roar FC moving up to 4th in the table, and then 3rd in 2008. With the later additions of Queensland teams Gold Coast United and North Queensland Fury, the club was renamed Brisbane Roar FC, and saw it’s first regression in the table, falling all the way to 9th in 2009. However, in the 2010-2011 season, Brisbane Roar finally won it all, holding their first A-League title following a win over Central Coast Mariners FC in the A-League Grand Final. The 2011-2012 season saw a repeat, as Brisbane Roar once again hoisting the trophy, this time defeating Perth Glory in the Grand Final. After this title, manager Ange Postecoglou resigned to manage his hometown club, Melbourne Victory FC. This saw the hiring of an interim manager, before current manager Mike Mulvey was appointed. His first season, he saw the Roar to 5th on the table and a spot in the A-League playoffs, where they ultimately fell to grand final runner-ups West Sydney Wanderers FC.
With so much success in recent years, Brisbane Roar FC board of directors have placed immense pressure on manager Mike Mulvey to hoist that trophy for a third time in 4 years. Mulvey, despite having a successful season by most measures, is already on the hot seat for this 2013-2014 season. He is unfazed, expressing confidence in his club and their ability to win the A-League championship once again. “We didn’t have a bad year last year, and if the ball bounced our way a few more times last season in the playoffs, I think we could’ve pulled it out. But we’re a club that knows the taste of victory, we know what it’s like to hold that trophy, and we’re going to be greedy. We don’t want anyone else to hold that trophy. It belongs in Brisbane. We have to go bring it home.”

The Russian team have hired the Russian manager for the team. This season they will be playing in "Orlov Park" The Russian manager commented "This team is a lot less terrible then Wycombe, and I believe I can be successful here." With that he added "I shall do better then Jamiec47."

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
So guys, I've finally decided to start a new challengue, which will continue in FIFA 15 depending the results. I'm going to pick a Football League Championship team. If I promote it before FIFA 15 arrives, I'll start my FIFA 15 career with a Premier League low team, if not, I have to start in FIFA 15 again in Football League.
I've two options:
1) Pick a team that has promoted IRL (QPR, Leicester City or Burnley), so in this case I will play with the same team in FIFA 15 if I promote, or I have to change to another Football League team if I don't promote.
2) Pick another Football League team not promoted IRL, so in this case I have to change to a differente team in EPL in FIFA 15 if I promote, or start with the same team in FIFA 15 in Football League if I don't promote.
Any suggestions?? QPR seems more realistic, as they've been relegated from EPL and you can start it as the manager has been fired related to the relegation. Or in the 2nd option, picking Wigan, as his manager IRL left the club. In this case my doubts are in how I'd feel if I promote the team and I have to change it in FIFA 15 cause they're in Football League againComment
