Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I hope this isn't about to happen to me because I just came to terms with Junior Malanda for 4 years/$170K.
My highest paid player is only making $85K right now.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Bournemouth Career Update- Season 1
I'm not into February in my Bournemouth career mode and it's been up and down to date. We currently sit 15th in the Championship, although we're 3 points out of 10th and 9 points out of a playoff spot with 17 to play. We have made progress in the FA Cup, though, as we're into the Round of 16. Brian Taylor has been a monster up front, with 29 goals (24 in the League), although he's my only real scoring threat at the moment as others are inconsistent in front of net.
Transfer Window
SpoilerI was focused on improving my back line in January, and both deals I made, I believe, have done that. Selling some of my backups made room for the deals, which was also beneficial.
First, I targeted Calum Chambers from Southampton. I've become a Southampton fan in the last two years once I began following soccer and the Premier League, so I knew about him and that he has good potential, although I make it a rule not to check SoFifa for potentials until after I have players on my squad. Eventually, I slightly overpaid to get him for an even $1 million, although it sures up a big hole at right back.
Next, I wanted another young center back to pair with Weber in the back. I know Chelsea has a wealth of young talent, so I was looking through their squad and came across Nathan Ake, who I've heard of and seen in Fifa 13. $1.2 million later and I have 3 of my 4 back line positions cemented into the near future as the window closed.
Just another note, I decided to implement Orion's next gen sliders, although I'm tweaking them slightly. I've kept the game speed on normal instead of slow, but started with everything else the same as his original sliders. I began to absolutely destroy teams with chances after (I would have around 13 compared to their 2) so I started to lower the computer passing error, and I've settled on 51 for both myself and the computer now. The next change was lowering shot error down to 51 for both, as it's still having a noticeable difference with players missing chances. My biggest issue right now is I'm still getting more chances than the AI where I wasn't doing that on default legendary. Part of the problem with knowing if it's the sliders is that my whole team is in form right now and the back line is better talent wise thanks to transfers. I'll continue adjusting them until I get them where I want them.
In terms of Youth Academy, I have 3 players with high 70 to low 80 ceiling potentials, which isn't great. Then, recently, I came across an American who plays either LB, LM, LW, or Striker with 80-94 potential and 58-72 ovr already. I'll continue to monitor him, although I have great hopes. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving if you celebrate it and thanks again for reading.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Summer transfer window of my third year (second at PSV) I couldn't resist a 17 million transer offer from Tottenham for Narsingh. Not with the way Bakkali played in that spot down the stretch in season 1. I turned that money, plus my existing transfer budget into Willian from Chelsea for 22 million Euros, who bumps a quality Memphis Depay out of the first XI. But strengthens the groups of forwards tremendously for European and Cup play. I had to overpay weekly wages for Willian to agree to leave Eindhoven, but that is a premium I can certainly understand.
The team is so incisive and a freaking force on the attack right now with guys like Maher, Wijnaldum, Depay, Bakkali, Willian, Jozefzoon, and the big men Locadia, and Matavz splitting time in the middle.
Willian was a total joy in his first game. Made a ton of plays and scored the game winner. I hope he continues being a beast.Comment

Next part in the Jack Jackson PSG dynasty is here.
PSG in a league of their own
PSG dismissed Hull City 5-0 today. Leading 2-0 at the half, there was a offensive explosion in the second half. This is the post game press conference where Jack Jackson answered media questions.
ESPN Reporter: This is the second time this year where fans have accused you of running up the score. What do you say to them?
Jackson: I can't help it that they can't stop us.
BeIn Reporter: It's only the preseason but you guys have been playing amazing. Do you think it will carry over?
Jackson: We're the world's best. There's nobody who can stop us.
PSG Fan: Any news on the Neymar trade?
Jackson: Barcelona has rejected our trade offer.
Soccer Fan: Zlatan Ibrahimovic should be captain.
Jackson: That's not a question.
Jackson finished the press conference by explaining that the captaincy would be decided after the season starts.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
It's late February 2014 for me with Nottingham Forest (financial takeover). I'm running away with the league/promotion to the EPL with 81 points from 32 games (25-6-1). Right behind me are QPR (65 points) and Leeds (62 points), though neither is likely to catch up to me unless I completely collapse.
I crashed out of the Capitol One Cup in my third game, losing to Burnley on penalties. In the FA Cup, I'm in to the quarterfinals having beaten Blackburn 2-1 and Leeds 3-0 (Mutch hat-trick), where I'm up against one of Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, West Brom, QPR or Huddersfield.
Just for reference, I'm on World Class with a tweaked mix of Gonira/Orion/Zjac sliders.
In January, several of my unwanted 23+ players signed deals to join other Championship clubs for free next year. I signed three players on pre-contract agreements myself: Abou Diaby from Arsenal (3 years/£60K), Bafetimbi Gomis from Lyon (2 years/£90K), and Jonathan Biabiany from Parma (3 years/£75K).
I also tried to sign several central defenders (Bartra, Terry, Agger) but all of them refused to move for even 150% of their expected wages, including Bartra. I even agreed a fee for Aleksandr Dragovic, a free agent who got placed at Barcelona, but he wanted £80K per week, which I thought was ridiculous.
At the end of it deadline day, I had about £18 million left. Bought myself a 4/5 English youth scout, and I plan to carry over the rest of the budget via the trick.
Next summer's main target is a first-choice rock CB to pair the ball-playing Dier. Since this is where the bulk of my transfer budget will go, I hope to snag Neven Subotic from Dortmund.
I also need a reserve LB (Ake on loan perhaps, as he's been great for me at CB and LB), a reserve CDM/CM, and a backup CAM (a physical player with good passing, shooting and vision, not necessarily a CAM). I'd also like to replace Abdoun with a young CF/ST who's fast and great at dribbling; someone comfortable hogging the touchline and cutting in from the wings. Andrade has excelled for me at this position since I moved to 4-2-3-1 and has got seven goals in 12 games since I changed to this formation.
Your suggestions are welcome.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I just came upon another really stupid bug...
I'm managing the USA in the 2018 World Cup, and a transition to a new season happens during the group stage. Michael Bradley was on my WC squad for the first two group stage games, but now he's gone for the third.
HE RETIRED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WORLD CUP!!
What a bunch of BS...Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
Having a bit of a tough time at PSV right now (relatively speaking). The team just isn't playing well. I say this despite sitting three points behind first place Utrecht (!!!), and leading our group in the Euro League. Already have three losses near the end of October, which isn't awful, but I am thankful Ajax, Twente, and Feyenoord have fallen off a bit. But my record against those clubs isn't so hot. Loss to Twente, draw with Ajax, and a win over Feyenoord. I have a bad loss to Vitesse, and just lost to Zwole. In each instance I outplayed those clubs, but couldn't finish for whatever reason.
Hopefully the team clicks soon, and we can put this behind us. The midfield has been the real problem. Lots of talent, but not really having much success orchestrating the attack like last season.Comment
