I know what you're thinking, I just know what you're thinking: "vrabbit is the most inconsistent dude ever" and you're right. This CM is frustrating the crap out of me but I'm loving it though. There has been a change to our formation as I have permanently moved to a custom 4-3-3 for the foreseeable future. As you can see I'm not scoring too much and I need to change that and the move to the 4-3-3 (custom so there's more spacing between the 3 midfielders) is giving me better results. I used to switch to it at the end of games when losing and after it helped me turn around the game vs Atletico I kept it for good. I know it doesn't look like it helped vs Elche but I had plenty of chances to score and also was playing some subs due to a 2-day turnaround (I still should have taken that game though). Larrondo, a starter at CB for Venezuela, did not celebrate his goal for Elche. EDIT: Paredes is the league's player of the month of September.

Although the formation changes the starting XI remains the same, with Paredes moving to RW where his speed makes a bigger difference, Farago going to LW, and Gabriel at ST. Essien moves from CDM to CM but everyone else stays in the same spot.

    Spoiler

Before anything else, the standings, which come today courtesy of a picture:

    Liga BBVA Standings
    Spoiler

I'm hanging in there despite it all.

There is a bit of drama brewing up on the roster as Alex Navas has not been progressing while our backup GK, Carlos Alberto, keeps progressing to the point some of his ratings are now better than Navas'

The question then becomes: is it time to make a change? Navas has been getting better in my eyes with each game but I do want to give this team the best chance to win each time out. Both of them are future stars, Navas "showing great potential" and Alberto "has potential to be special". I had Alberto listed for loan but no offers came (except one from a team where I knew he wouldn't start, I forgot which club). Navas is Venezuelan and Alberto is Argentinian but I don't really have a bias there. I want you guys to give me your thoughts on this: who would you start?

Looking back to the qualifier games in this update, I really want to take a moment to recommend Salomon Rondon to anyone doing a CM with an up-and-coming team (I'm looking at you Maelstrom).

Join the biggest FIFA Ultimate Team Community on the internet - Create Squads, Search the Database, and find FIFA 23 (and historical) stats.

The dude is the kind of striker I'd love to have on my teams but I just can't afford him. Look back to all of my updates, this is the first time I've scored a hat trick and it was no coincidence that it was with him. He has good size (6'1"), ridiculous strength, above average speed, excellent in the air game, and can score with either foot. He's just 25 when you start a CM so he'll be your star for many seasons and grows into the 80's in rating (starts at 77).

Staying on the qualifiers, the game vs Ecuador was my reminder that I left some pretty good talent at Boca Juniors that I had developed through the academy there. On Venezuela's roster I ran back into Rafael Lopez, who I scouted while at Boca but was signed by another team. I then brought him to Alcorcon and had him up to 71 OVR before I sold him for $2.2 million before I had a financial takeover ... he's now a 79 OVR STUD not even 20 years old yet. Listed as LM but plays better at CAM due to lack of speed. 6'3" too ... Then on Ecuador there's Luis Gonzalo, also a LM who even though I can't see his rating anymore: 1) was Ecuador's best player in the game against them (handled all set plays) and 2) is probably rated into the 80's at this point because his wages are $80,000. I certainly wish I could have both on them at Alcorcon right now.

Last thing, I had to resort to pictures for this update so here's the last two so you can check out my top prospect at the academy:

    Spoiler

Now that I've moved to a 4-3-3 he fits a lot better into the system and I'm getting itchy about promoting him even though I should really wait until next season.

That's all for now. This one got LONG. I do look forward to your takes on the GK situation though

I would Go Alberto as he has potential to be special which is 90+ and GK's start to grow later than normal players. GK's start to grow at about 23 and if Alberto is starting already he has a awesome potential. I recommend playing him over Navas.

So the Chelsea career mode didn't really work out. I had some issues with loan players not being loaned and I didn't really like the players I signed. I've decided to try a different Career mode which will be posted later on today. I've thoroughly enjoyed playing it so far so hopefully it will be a long one.

Oh really lol I never knew that. Unfortunately a couple of my youth players have asked to be called up and I'm only in January

            S.S. Lazio Career Mode

Breaking News: - Mr. OJ will take over the management of S.S Lazio on a permanent basis as of 16/06/13 after the departure of Vladimir Petkovic.
Petkovic left a week ago to take charge of the Swiss national team and the decision was made last night to hire Englishman OJ. OJ has little experience in the field of management with this being his first job as manager. He was previously the assistant manager of his home town Yeovil FC. OJ had a long and illustrious playing career in which he played for some of the largest teams in the world including FC Bayern, AC Milan, Arsenal and Lazio as a utility player before retiring at the age of 36. More news to come shortly.

La Gazzetta dello Sport - Italian Sports Newspaper 22/06/13
S.S Lazio's new manager Mr. OJ gave a shot press conference two days ago in which he outlined his vision for the clubs future.

Mr. OJ, this is your first managerial job and has the potential to affect the rest of your career. How do you plan to put your own stamp of the club?

Mr. OJ - This is a great club. It is one of the most historic clubs in the world and has everything a great club should have. Great players, great fans and an amazing stadium. I feel I do not need to change anything about this team. All I have to do is push the team on and help the young stars to grow. Starting at a team of this stature I think can only help my career. Therefore I don't plan on changing too much, just taking everything up a level.

How do you plan on dealing with all the youth in your team?

Mr. OJ - We have a massive amount of young players in this team and I feel they will all be best suited going out on loan. Of course I will keep one or two of the lads who could fight for places in the 1st team but I will be loaning the majority of them out.

You have two friendlies which could potentially be difficult. How do you plan on dealing with them?

Mr. OJ - We travel to England for the first match against Newcastle which will be a good chance to see how we would fair against opposition who we could meet in the Europa league. Then we set up in Spain for a week and have a training camp for the squad in Central Spain where we will play Real Madrid and Osasuna. I will be rotating the side a lot in these friendlies to try and find out which players will fit into my team and which players may not have a place in the squad. I think these friendlies are a good time to test and experiment with the squad and that is what I plan on doing.

Finally Antonio Candreva suffered an ACL at the end of last season. Will he be fit for these friendlies.

Mr. OJ - Currently Antonio has made a excellent recovery and things are looking positive. He will not be fit for the Newcastle game but he may be for the Spanish matches. We a crossing our fingers and our hopeful that he will be ready for the start of the season and the Supercopa match against Juve. Thanks guys, no further questions.

How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

              Season 4
              Difficulty: World Class
              7 Minute Halves
              Default Sliders

              Transfer Budget: $1,100,00
              Wage Budget: $6,000

              July 2016 - Preseason Friendlies

AFC Wimbledon 1 - 1 Inter de Milan
              INT: Belfodil PEN 3'
              WIM: Hanson 45'
A very controversial call by the Colombian referee awarded Inter a penalty. Had this been an official match Chavez would have been furious on the sidelines. Worner dove in the right direction but took too much flight. Wimbledon dominated the match with 61% possession and plenty of dangerous shots from the James Hanson and Terry Gornell duo, two players who hardly played together last season. There's a great understanding between these two players. In fact the goal was a result of a Hanson header assisted by Gornell's cross. Shaun Vincent made his first start for the team and played a decent match, on one occasion took two defenders on inside the box and shot for goal, but the goalkeeper was well prepared. Luke Freeman made his debut as a substitute and impressed with a couple through balls which led to shots. Wimbledon may have only gotten a draw, but the future looks bright for this team.

              Toulouse FC 2 - 2 AFC Wimbledon
              TFC: Cauteruccio 2' Trejo 53'
              WIM: James 48' Baldwin 51'
Another preseason draw for AFC Wimbledon but the fans will be happy to see the players adapting to the new formation, although for this match Chavez fielded an alternative starting 11 to see how his squad depth would be with the new formation change.

              AFC Wimbledon 4 - 0 Levante UD
              WIM: Hanson 27' Harvey 44' James 77' 82'
What a great way to end the preseason leading up to Wimbledon's first season in the BPL. Chavez has fielded a very bold 3-5-2 formation for all three preseason matches and we're seeing some exciting new things with it. Fans were unsure how the new formation would perform against Levante, a team who uses both wide midfielders and fullbacks, but even with the extra men on the wings Wimbledon were still able to find space. James Hanson continues to be on a great scoring form which he ended last season with, and it looks like he will play alongside Gornell up front. This is the first time Chavez uses two strikers as his main formation.

Wimbledon star Tarik Çamdal Says Goodbye

Tarik Çamdal, who was signed from the Free Agents pool in Chavez's first season, has officially departed from the club. The player was purchased by Championship side Blackburn Rovers for a reported 1 million USD and agreed to a 10k USD wage, a 6 thousand salary increase compare to his Wimbledon wage. Fans are sad to see him go, but Elliott Hewitt has stepped up in the preseason matches and looks more than ready to be in the starting 11 after an excellent debut season with Wimbledon last year.

The French wide midfielder Kevin Sainte-Luce has also departed from the club after signing with Championship side Coventry City for 350k USD. Sainte-Luce was one of the most disappointing players for Wimbledon in the past 3 seasons and a change in his career was the correct move.

Goalkeeper Seb Brown (60 OVR) has been transfer listed by the club, while Kyle Shelvey (63 OVR) and Luke Draper (55 OVR) are available for season loans.

Wimbledon have not made any signings so far and it is believed they have not even made a single enquiry.

              Chavez signs Scotland's Contract Extension

Looks like Chavez will be sticking around a while longer on the international stage as he has officially signed the contract extension offered by Scotland. We were able to get a few words from a member of the Scottish FA:
"We're very happy with his decision. After a great showing in the Euros we knew we had to do everything possible to keep him on board. It had been predicted that we wouldn't be able to survive the group stage, but he made it happen. Unfortunately we fell to Germany but it was a great match Chavez stood toe to toe against a stronger opponent instead of falling back and we were very close to going through. The players have responded really well to his management style so really we're all happy to hear he's staying."

The WC Qualifiers begin next month, where Chavez will battle it out with France, Turkey, Greece, Sweden, and Finland for a ticket to the biggest sport competition in the world.

              Jack Midson

The fan favorite and club hero has officially announced his retirement at the end of this season. The player was quoted by saying "I love this club and I can't think of a better way to end my career than by saying goodbye after this, the most important season in Wimbledon's history." Unfortunately, the 32 year old striker suffered and LCL injury during preseason training and will be out for approximately 2 months. We wish him a swift recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the field.

AFC Wimbledon's first ever BPL match will be against Spurs, the very same that defeated Wimbledon in the FA Cup final last season. Although Spurs won the FA Cup, they had already qualified to the Europa League through the league table, therefore AFC Wimbledon have made it to their 2nd Europa League. The first was by achieving 2nd place in the Capital One Cup, and now by finishing 2nd in the FA Cup. The fixtures have not been decided yet.

Well, that is all we have for you today. As always it's been a pleasure to report for HYFCMG. Thanks for reading!

Need help, I decided to make a career mode with a goalkeeper, but there's has been probably like 3 shots in total(5 games played). They rarely shoot at me. Does this depend on the league? Any slider tweaks? Tips? It's frustrating standing there watching the game as it unfolds from a mile away down the pitch...

This is why the times I have made a goalkeeper career, I choose a low level squad. That way the opponent will be dominating the match and a clean sheet equals a very valuable 1 point. Which team did you make it with? If it's too late and you're with a top team, then how about increasing the difficulty?

                    Accrington Stanley Career Mode

                    September Results:

Accrington Stanley 1-0 Leister City (Capital One Cup) (A.E.T)

For this match I decided to go 5-4-1 and hope to hit them on the brake and that's exactly what I did with 19 year-old Mc Cartan (58) coming up with the deciding goal in the first half of extra time. Next cup match is vs Blackburn Rovers.

                    Accrington Stanley 2-1 Bristol Rovers

                    Wycombe Wanders 0-1 Accrington Stanley

                    Accrington Stanley 2-0 Burton Albion

Accrington Stanley 1-0 Blackburn Rovers (Capital One Cup L32)

Same tactics as the last cup match, same result, even the same person who scored. A brilliant win.
We advance in the cup and face league 1 side Colchester United in the L16. Bring it on!

                    Accrington Stanley 1-1 Hartlepool United

A very tence 2nd vs 3rd match Webber scored a wonder goal and an own goal, we remain in same position as we started as you'll see below:

                    Standings: (after 9 games)

                    1st: Portsmouth 27
                    2nd: ACCRINGTON STANLEY 20
                    3rd: Plymouth Argyle 19
                    4th: Southend United 17
                    5th: Hartlepool United 17
                    6th: Chesterfield 16
                    7th: Cheltenham Town 15

Portsmouth are going to be very tough to catch for 1st, but right now my main goal is to secure promotion so we'll see how it all plays out.
October includes a trip to our rivals Morcombe, the second round of the J.Paint Trophy and the L16 of the cup vs Colchester, next time I will also include an update on the academy.

I hope you enjoyed the post.
See you next time, any feedback will be very welcome.

Here I am again after a few days of being busy with... stuff. Don't worry, I missed you too! It will be fine, don't cry! I said don't cry! Anyway, I have been thinking about my next career and I have a shortlist with few teams on it. It will be down there and you can vote for your favourite. But remember, at the end the decision will be made by me. Your opinion matters as well, though.

                        1. Internazionale Milan

The Italian team won three consecutive Scudettos in 2007-2010 and they got awarded one more from 2006 after Calciopoli which ended in Juventus' rebuild. After Jose Mourinho left in 2010 the giants have been struggling and they need a savior who can get the team to glory again...
The squad is okay but it's really old but the budget is good.

                        2. Manchester United

After Sir Alex Ferguson decided to end his managerial career and after the legendary Scott won almost 40 trophies his successor, David Moyes, failed miserably as the manager of the Red Devils and they didn't even manage to reach European competitions. The team wants to take back the league and then the world. Good team, good budget.

                        3. Athletic Bilbao

The pride of Basque country. A team which is known for its Basque-only player policy. They reached the Europa League final and the next season the team was 12th under Marcelo Bielsa's management. The team has got a lot of talent and they have a good squad. The Lions were fourth last season and they will play qualify for the Champions League. Only downside? Their budget and transfer policy. But it would be a fun challenge.

Note: All teams will have the players they bought this Summer. They will also not have players they sold except for Herrera if I start the Bilbao career.

                          1. Internazionale Milan

The Italian team won three consecutive Scudetto's in 2007-2010 and they got awarded two more from 2005 and 2006 after Moggiopoli which ended in Juventus' rebuild.

I would personally try Inter re-build that strong team they had

Bienvenidos a Malaga TV. I'm Gerard Navas, and I have a very special guest with me today. Please welcome Indi Blue, our new manager. Indi, congratulations and welcome to Malaga. Are you excited?

Thanks, Gerard. I'm thrilled to be here. It seems like just yesterday that I was still a youth coach, a kid lacking in experience but rich in dreams. After my own playing career was ended prematurely thanks to injury, I made it my mission to help develop as many talented players as possible. Today, I was unveiled as the manager of Malaga, one of the most promising clubs in Spain, and I could not be more elated.

You had a press conference earlier today at La Rosaleda. What was that like?

The press conference was incredibly cordial. Despite all I'd heard about the Spanish press and their lack of professionalism, I didn't witness too much of it. All those years studying Spanish in school and at university really paid off. The journos really took to me when they realised I could speak the language, and my status as an Asian outsider in Europe was quickly put to one side as they quizzed me on everything from tactics to paella.

Why did you choose Malaga when you had offers from other clubs as well?

Malaga are a bit of a story, to be honest. Last year was quite sad, with the debt we owed other clubs as well as the Spanish tax authorities. I think UEFA decided to make an example of us, imposing a fine and banning us from European competition for two seasons over a four-year period. When those debts were promptly cleared in full, the ban wasn't removed, but just reduced to one season – this one. I'd like to fix things.

Another reason I chose Malaga over the other clubs is because of this board. They expressed complete faith in me despite my lack of managerial experience in the top flight, and I felt very wanted. I've also been given complete control over football matters, with the board concentrating solely on the commercial and operational aspects of the club.

What do you think of the new ownership situation?

Well, much of the blame for the problems we have with UEFA lies with Sheikh Abdullah, the former owner. He spent loads of cash on players like Santi Cazorla and then refused to invest the money he promised. That forced the old board to sell the best players, which is a shame considering how good some of them are. When Sheikh Abdullah sold the club over the summer, it was the first step forward. With shares available via membership to Malaga supporters and fans, it only took a few weeks for us to became just the fifth fan-owned club in La Liga, and it helps that a lifelong Malaguista like Antonio Banderas owns a good portion of the shares – it'll make promoting our brand that much easier. But the first priority is running the club responsibly, and I know my part in that.

A new board of directors was elected this summer. What do you think of their mandate?

With the club now virtually free from debt, I think the three goals set by the socios – bringing the quality of the youth academy up to par with the best in Europe, maximising commercial gains without soiling the club's reputation or destroying its soul, and building a world-class training complex – is quite a fair ask. It's an ambitious project for an ambitious club, but we've just emerged from a tumultuous few years under the ownership of an irresponsible businessman who worked on his own schedule. What better time than now to shoot for the stars? I hope to piece together a team that can compete for trophies and give these wonderful fans what they deserve.

The club sold and signed a few players before you joined. What's your opinion on them?

I'm not too upset with losing out on most of the players who departed over the summer, but I'd really have enjoyed working with Isco – such a phenomenal talent. But that's the past, and we can't change it no matter how much we may want to. What I want to do now is look forward. The club has made some very smart signings and paid off what is owed, so we can now look at using our finances to strengthen the squad.

So the goal for this year is...

Qualifying for the Europa League is non-negotiable. This team is capable of achieving so much, and that is the bare minimum that I expect of them. We have no European competition this year, so there is really no excuse for finishing outside the top five or six. La Liga is a very competitive place – Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Athletic Bilbao, Real Sociedad and Valencia are all very good teams capable of finishing high up the table. We will need to be very focused if we are to achieve our goals, and we will do just that.

You have no idea how happy it makes us to hear that. Thanks for being with us today, Indi. We can't wait to see what you manage to do.

Thanks for having me, Gerard. I can't wait to get started.

Interesting, no signings so far. You have me curious as to what your move will be! Exciting that you are about to start BPL play. You will have to post your squad some time for us so we can see what you are about to take on the Premier League with haha!

Portsmouth are going to be very tough to catch for 1st, but right now my main goal is to secure promotion so we'll see how it all plays out.
October includes a trip to our rivals Morcombe, the second round of the J.Paint Trophy and the L16 of the cup vs Colchester, next time I will also include an update on my academy.

I hope you enjoyed the post.

See you next time, any feedback will be very welcome.

No respect for the rivals, won't even spell our name right! It's on now!
