Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Alright, I've narrowed it to 3 teams from about 10. I decided to just post this before I overthought it some more. Here they are:

          1. Cardiff City: Really, the only GUARENTEED player to stay for the long run is Steven Caulker. Other than that, everyone could be gone.

          2. Sampdoria: Not a bad budget, Gabbiadini was fantastic in FIFA 13, I'll look at SoFifa if this is voted for his potential in this game, other than that this would be a good challenge, as well as all of the other teams will be.

          3. RCD Espanyol: A decent budget, and I'm not very familiar with the squad. It'd be a nice challenge.

So, those are the teams. When my Wi-Fi was gone I thought I'd do a career with both Ronaldinho and Thierry Henry, but then I come back and see how many people have Ronaldinho... lol. I think I have a replacement in mind, but he'll cost me more money... quite a bit more..

EDIT: Are these pictures loading for anybody?

Awesome I'll probably start either tomorrow or Monday (I have a very busy weekend) and for a LB, Matthew Briggs looks good 66 ovl 78 pot. Derby only have Irish (both Northern and from the Republic), Scottish and English players so if you keep the trend that will be good (also depend if you use the default or current squads).

Got the Wales FA offer, and man it's always so tempting to take. The thing that holds me back is that you can't do any youth scouting there. If EA had Wales as a scout-able country I'd probably go with them just about every time.

I took the Paraguay national offer as the coach of Hoffenheim. It was the first job offer I got and I think getting them to the World Cup will be a nice challenge. About to play the qualifying matches.

                  Navas - 6.4 game rating

                  Uchenwa 80
                  Navas - 7.0 game rating

That was disappointing. I will admit I'm getting frustrated at my lack of scoring (11 goals in 12 GP). Every game it gets more frustrating, I really need a game where I can destroy an opponent. Losing to Rayo and Celta, who are both near the bottom of the table, was maddening as hell and in the draw against Mallorca my defense, which is usually reliable, just fell apart. Oh, and Rayo DOMINATED me the whole time. Yeah.

                  Liga BBVA Standings

                  1. Valencia CF - 27pts
                  2. FC Barcelona - 26pts (13 GP)
                  3. Real Madrid - 23pts
                  4. Malaga CF - 22pts
                  5. Real Sociedad - 21pts
                  6. Real Zaragoza - 20pts

                  ...
                  13. AD Alcorcon - 16pts
                  ...
                  18. Elche CF - 8pts
                  19. Rayo Vallecano - 6pts
                  20. Sporting Gijon - 5pts

In the grand scheme of things I'm still in good shape, just four points away of where I want to be, but I need to turn this around quickly. I may get aggressive at the winter transfer window if the struggles continue up to that point. There will be 6 total games in November: 3 league games, my first Copa del Rey match, and 2 friendlies which at this point I may start simming some of them since qualifiers are done. Speaking of that, here are those standings:

CONMEBOL WC Qualifiers - Final standings

                  1. Brazil - 38pts
                  2. Argentina - 37pts
                  3. Colombia - 34pts
                  4. Uruguay - 31pts
                  5. Chile - 29pts
                  6. Ecuador - 26pts
                  7. Peru - 17pts
                  8. Venezuela -16pts
                  9. Paraguay - 16pts
                  10. Bolivia - 4pts

Top 4 qualify for the WC. Chile will have to play a playoff against some team from Asia.

Alberto didn't progress this month and his and Navas' performance were very even so they'll continue to split games.

That's all for now. Leave me some encouragement and/or suggestions will ya?

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Freiburg career update. Trying to finish the season before I go on holiday on Saturday

                    MARCH:

                    BUNDESLIGA

                    Augsburg 0–2 Freiburg
So I started life without Sneijder with a trip to Augsburg thinking how would I cope without him. My heart sank even further in the 16th minute when Xhaka had to go off injured. Luckily he only had a bruised elbow so shouldn’t be out for long. 6 minutes after the heart scare, Lewis Holtby exercised his ability in the air giving me a 1-0 lead, following some good pressing from Ontivero, the man that will probably stand in for Sneijder over the coming weeks. I held the lead going into half time, and doubled it shortly after the restart after an over the top pass found the feet of Darida who dispatched on his weak side. I didn’t feel although I was playing very well, and when Sam was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge with 20 minutes remaining, I decided to shut up shop and try to operate on the counter. I did put the ball in the net once more, but Mlapa’s header was ruled out for offside. It finished 2-0, handing me another 3 points and extending my unbeaten run to 7 games.

                    Freiburg 2–0 Frankfurt
Whilst I had a game against Frankfurt, meaning that Sonny Kittel would be playing against me, Bayern Munich hosted Leverkusen in a match that I needed the visitors to win if I was to have any chance of claiming Freiburg’s first Bundesliga title. I got off to a very quick start, and certainly didn’t regret giving loanee Serge Gnabry a spot in the 1st team when he opened the scoring inside 4 minutes. Nothing else happened in the 1st half and I maintained the 1-0 lead into the break, only to see that Bayern were beating Leverkusen by the same score line. Shortly after the break however, Brooks conceded a penalty that I could have no complaints with. Kittel stepped up to take it, sent Ortiz the wrong way, but hit the post! A major let off which made me focus more on my game then worry about the Bayern match. I upped the tempo, and was able to grab the 2nd goal off a rebound which Locadia very gratefully put away in the 81st minute, giving me another win to add to tally. Bayern won 3-0 though, so the title charge is over.

                    DEUTSCHER POKAL SEMI FINAL

Freiburg 2–2 Schalke AET (Freiburg win 4-1 on penalties)
Before the game began, I knew that a victory here would set up a meeting Bayern in the final after they had beaten Dortmund 2-1 the night before. I was seeking revenge over a Schalke side that had inflicted a 1st defeat of the season on me previously in the campaign. The passion drove me into a high gear straight away, and I took the lead in the 12th minute after Locadia headed home from a Holtby corner. It truly was the perfect start in a colossal game. The game was even from then on, until the 45th minute when Bamba conceded a free kick about 30 yards out from goal. Schalke laid it off, Christian Clemens took one touch before rifling one into the top corner to equalise in the most sublime way. I started the 2nd half well, but Bamba couldn’t get his body out of the way of a Dybala effort which was heading wide, consequently putting into his own net. I couldn’t lose to Schalke again, especially not in the semi-finals due to an own goal. After a long ball forward from Brooks, Mlapa picked the ball up and ran at the defence causing havoc. He combined pace with power to get into the box, before unleashing a lethal shot which struck the bar and went in. It finished 2-2, and was the same way after 120 minutes. Ortiz saved 2 penalties and loanee Serge Gnabry scored the winner, resulting in a date with Bayern in the final.

Standings at the end of March (all teams have played 27 games)

                    Bayern Munich 68 points
                    Freiburg 58 points
                    Dortmund 57 points
                    Leverkusen 55 points
                    Schalke 51 points
                    Hamburg 47 points

SQUAD REPORT: I had 2 league games in March, and although I didn’t perform to my potential, I came away with 6 points from 6 and 2 clean sheets. That is, 2 clean sheets with Ortiz in goal. With Baumann wanting to leave, I can’t really deny Ortiz the opportunity at least until the end of the season. I have had another unhappy message from Jetro Willems and with him being 78 rated and just 23, I must play him. Bamba has been under pressure from the press of late, but in my opinion he’s made a big impact since joining and any errorsthat he might have made were down to my poor play rather than his inability. Holtby has now moved up to an 83 rating and is still only 26, after some terrific performances throughout the month. I haven’t found a permanent replacement for Sneijder though. Ontivero hasn’t impressed me, Niang is inconsistent, but Gnabry’s stamina is 70 meaning he has to be replaced quite early on in games. I’m also beginning to question whether I can win the Champions League with Locadia as my man up front. He misses a lot of chances which I cannot afford to do in big games. I may have to look for a world class striker, with finishing up 85+. I’m thinking maybe Van Persie? He’s old now, but since I managed him at United for a couple of seasons, it could be possible that he has final hurrah before retiring.

I vote Sampdoria and no they aren't loading lol

                              Hoffenheim Monthly Report

Vs. 1.FSV Mainz 05, : Mainz came in at 17th place with 4 points in 8 games. Their most recent game was a 1-0 loss to FC Bayern, who is currently number 1 in the league. In the 29th minute they scored off of a header. In stoppage time they scored a goal when my goalie came out to grab the ball. An awful game. After the game I took the Paraguay job offer. I forgot to write down who scored.

Paraguay Vs. Colombia (FIFA WC Qualifiers), 1-4: Colombia came in as the fifth best team in the qualifiers. Paraguay came in as sixth. They had the same amount of points and the same goal differential. Paraguay struck first with a perfect goal into the corner of the net. Then Colombia struck back with a shot just outside of the goalkeeper's reach. Then, at the end of the first half, Colombia scored again. Midway through the second half Colombia scored off of a backdoor header. Colombia once again scored later in the second half. That was pretty bad. No World Cup for us. I forgot to write down the scorers again, somehow.

Vs. Hannover 96, 1-0: Hannover came in as the the twelfth best team with 9 points in 9 games. Modeste once again struck first with a header. Easy goal since the goalie was on the other side of the goal. On the 20th minute David Abraham was given a yellow card. On the 45th minute David Abraham was given another yellow card and sent off from the game. Both teams failed to score in the second half.

                              Hoffenheim Goals:
                              12' Modeste

                              Hannover Goals:
                              N/A

Man of the Match: Zieler, 9.1 (He had 11 saves!)

Vs. 1.FC Köln (Deutscher Pokal),1-2: This is Round 2 of the Deutscher Pokal. Köln beat FC Ingolstadt 3-1 to get to Round 2. On the 28th minute one of Köln's players tried to clear the ball but it hit off Modeste and he ran to the goal and scored!! On the 66th minute Köln struck back with a goal. The game went to Extra Time. A few minutes after Extra Time started Köln scored off of my goalie.

                              Hoffenheim Goals:
                              28' Modeste

                              Köln Goals:
                              67' Ujah
                              99' Ujah

                              Part of the Table:
                              1. Bor. Dortmund 8-1-0 25 pts
                              2. FC Bayern 7-2-1 23 pts
                              3. FC Schalke 04 7-1-1 22 pts
                              ...
                              6. VfB Stuttgart 5-2-3 17 pts
                              ...

                              13. 1899 Hoffenheim 2-4-4 10 pts
                              14. Hannover 96 3-0-7 9 pts

Wow really? You go all out against Wimbledon and then let MK beat you like that? How much did they pay you huh?? How much did they pay?!

That kid from Japan looks great! Hopefully you can hold him off until May, he'll probably get a boost from the mid to high 60s.

Alcorcon: man sucks you didn't make it to the WC again. Any chances of you losing your job? I'm sure you can turn things around next year which should be just friendlies right? Hopefully you can take advantage of the year with no cup to scout some good youth for Venezuela while preparing for the South America Cup.

                                I'm digging the Navas-Alberto battle!
