How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

      URGENT

I made a mistake in my last update!! The Copa Del Rey will NOT be played in May, it will actually be played in April. The Real Valladolid match is indeed only 2 rest days apart from the Madrid match, but it is not the 2nd to last game of the season. It's actually only the 2nd to last game of the month, and then we still have 4 matches to play in the month of May. I deeply apologize for the inconvenience. I truly believed what I initially typed, and I didn't even want to play FIFA tonight because I hadn't made my choice yet in regards to the cup final. The temptation to play ebay me though and that's when I noticed that I had it wrong again, sorry gents.

Unacceptable! You must sell Guillermo as punishment now.

They're not going to be hanging any Liga Adelante "CHAMPIONS" banner at Osasuna headquarters. At the end of the day what matters is (direct) promotion. I'd play my mains against Real.

                    Millwall Season 1 January:

                    Matchday 24:

                    Millwall – Birmingham (3-2)
                    • 2’ Cowan-Hall (Ciftci) (1-0)
                    • 72’ Arthur (1-1)
                    • 81’ Lingard (Martin) (2-1)
                    • 90’ Cotterhill (2-2)
                    • 90’ Lingard (Trapp) (3-2)

Recap: It was a very eventful and high scoring game between Birmingham City and Millwall F.C that ended with Millwall coming out on top thanks to an extremely exiting end to the game with Lingard scoring the winner in added time. For the first time this season Millwall conceded 2 goals in the same game and they had only conceded 3 goals in total in the league up until this game.

Unfourtunately for Millwall Danilo Cataldi got injured and had to be taken off and is now out for three weeks in a period with a lot of games and he will miss the Capital One cup Semi-finals.

MOTM: Jesse Lingard: Had a very good game after being subbed in in the second half and scored two goals including a great individual goal in the last seconds of the game to give Millwall the win.

                    Matchday 25:

                    Wigan – Millwall (0-3)
                    • 5’ Beevers (Martin) (0-1)
                    • 29’ Ciftci (Martin) (0-2)
                    • 41’ Ciftci (Briggs) (0-3)

Recap: A very impressive performance from Millwall that lead to them taking a very convincing 3-0 victory away against Wigan in which Ciftci was playing like he has earlier in the season but perhaps not in recent times and the same can be said for Martin so in Cataldi’s absence they really stepped up.

MOTM: Nacir Ciftci: Had a great game like many times especially earlier in the season and it was good to see him stepping up in Cataldi’s absence.

                    FA-cup: Round 3

Wigan – Millwall (0-2) (Reserve Team)
                    • 11’ Gregory (Weiser) (0-1)
                    • 83’ Carson (Götz) (0-2)

Recap: In this second game in 5 days between these teams it was once again Millwall came out with the win even though they this time put out a weaker side on the field due to them having a Capital One Cup Semi-final in just a few days. The loanees Weiser from Bayern and Götz from Hamburg made their debuts and they both had superb games with one assist each.

MOTM: Mitchell Weiser: The newly arrived German right winger had an amazing debut in which he was a constant threat mainly thanks to his pace and dribbling attributes but in this game he also combined those two attributes with precise crossing.

                    Capital One Cup: Semi Finals

                    Millwall – Hull City (1-0)
                    • 76’ Ciftci (Briggs) (1-0)

Recap: Millwall took a huge win against BPL side Hull City which gives them the advantage going into the second leg of the semi-finals. It was an even and though game that was decided only by a great individual effort from Nacir Ciftci.

MOTM: Matthew Briggs: Was great defensively where he completely shut down the left wing and also assisted to the goal.

                    Matchday 26:

                    Reading – Millwall (2-2)
                    • 32’ Ciftci (PK) (0-1)
                    • 40’ Cowan-Hall (Trapp) (0-2)
                    • 75’ Williams (1-2)
                    • 90’ Mackie (2-2)

Recap: It was Millwall who started this game best which led them to a solid 2-0 lead but then it was Reading who dominated the second half and caught up to 2-2 and that was how the game ended, making it the first game in which they dropped points since the first league game of the season.
Millwall also got their main defensive midfielder Wil Trapp injured for three weeks adding him to the injury list which now consists of their two best central midfielders

MOTM: Nacir Ciftci: Played really well despite not scoring a goal in open play.

                    Matchday 27:

Millwall - Derby (1-0) (Reserve Team)
                    • 72’ Marin (Gregory) (1-0

Recap: Millwall took a deserved win in this boring game between Millwall and Derby City through excellent defence and then scoring a goal late in the game.

MOTM: Adrian Marin: Was great defensively and then scored the only goal in the game.

Capital One Cup: Semi-final Leg 2:

                    Hull City – Millwall (0-1)
                    • 66’ Martin (Cowan-Hall) (0-1)

Recap: Due to the first game ending with a 1-0 win to Millwall it was Hull City that was on the offensive from the start of the game and Millwall stayed back defending for their lives and waiting for an opportunity to counter attack. Hull City actually scored the first goal of the game but it was disallowed due to the goal scorer being offside and just a few minutes after that when Hull City were pouring men forward Millwall strike on the counter-attack to take the lead in the game and due to the away goal rule they needed to score 3 goals so it was practically over at this point.

Millwall will face Chelsea in the capital one cup final after Chelsea disposed of reading with 6-0 which means that it will be a London derby in the final!

MOTM: Mark Beevers: Dominated in the defence and let no one through and commanded the backline and the defensive midfielders very well and only allowed one shot from Hull City in the whole game.

                    FA-cup: 4th Round

                    Millwall – MK Dons (1-0)
                    • 45’ Gregory (Upson)

Recap: In this game between championship side Millwall and League One side MK Dons it was the favourites Millwall that came out with a narrow 1-0 win that takes them to the next round of the FA – cup.

MOTM: Ed Upson: Had a great game in the midfield which he and Martinez dominated the whole game and Upson also assisted to Gregory’s goal.

                    Player of the month:

Nacir Ciftci: In a month with a lot of rotation and several players performing really well Nacir Ciftci is the player of the month thanks to him being the difference in several of the games he took part in both regarding him scoring and assisting as well as being essential in the link up play.

                    January Recap:

It was a very good month for Millwall in the league as usual even though they only won 3 out of 4 games which made this month the first time we dropped points since the first game of the season but we are still undefeated and have a huge lead in the league so all an all a good month and amazing season.
From a cup perspective it was truly an amazing month in which we beat Hull City in both games in the Semi-finals which means that we are now facing Chelsea in the final which will mean that we have a very exiting London derby in the final and also that we now have probably qualified for the Europa League next season.

                    All feedback is appreciated!

NVM my last post, looks like you are getting ready to finish up season 1 in a few months.

I'd suggest taking a look at:

                          Jesse Lingard
                          Francisco Pizzini
                          Marcos Lopes
                          Alexis Zapata
                          Ryan Gauld

They all start at under 70 OVR, but have possibly passed it by the end of the first season. They all have decent potential so that is why I listed them. I'd imagine they are either 70+ or really close with more room to grow.

you're looking at adding an older guy. Pablo Zeballos should be available for less than $5 mill. Christian Marrugo, Ramón Fernández, Oleg Ivanov, Élton, and Willem Janssen would be other names I'd look into. Good luck and let me know if any of those work for you. You'b be basically getting one of these guys as a 1 or 2-year rental until you have the funds to bring in a significant upgrade at the position.

Edit: I'd look into tex's recommendations too.

Derby have signed him in the real world, and I think it pretty much will be the addition that helps them move to the PL. Great win over Barcelona, and you're doing well enough that promotion is a realistic target.

Albentosa has been great so far. He has made some mistakes like the own goal against Villarreal, but he has great tackling stats and when there's a ball in the air and I see him nearby, I don't even have to worry about it. I'm so glad I was able to beat Valladolid for him. I wasn't gonna let them take another transfer target away from me again!

Very good point, I hadn't thought of it that way. Very well then, we're going for the cup!!
