Cabee: Man that starting budget is painful. You had to sell a couple key players because of it but you made the most of it afterwards and your signings were great. They seem to be responding really well on the field as well, they didn't struggle to adapt to your system. I like that your youth academy has been doing well seeing as two of your youth players are among the best in your senior squad. Looking at your squad it looks like an extra season in the Championship would do you well, but wow what a win over United! I know one match isn't enough for a proper judgement, but those kind of results make you dream on! Will you be shooting for an extra season in the Championship to improve your squad or will you just go all in and fight for promotion?
Yeah, I hate how little I get from the board and they want me to work with scraps in the championship!
Craig Eastomnd got me a fair bit of money but Jake Sinclair gave me the most by far (but because i have financial strictness on 60% it means that i only got just over a million for the Sinclair deal which is still pretty good.)

Aha thanks! The new boys have done very well so far and there was many of them too! I was a little worried that the team wouldn't work as well as a unit as they did last season but they've done well to suit my playing style and work together to get some goals.

Despite only ever having two youth players in my academy (Aaron and Glen) they've been good picks and I hope they keep growing and become invaluable to the team.

      They Man United game was soooo nerve-racking. Every time I scored they seemed to reply but a good goal by Tim Payne finished them off. I was considering how I would fare in the BPL and i don't think i would do very well. It's really early at the moment but i would predict that we'd only be 15th (probably lower) in the BPL if we keep playing the way we are.<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:TrackMoves/> <w:TrackFormatting/> <w:PunctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <woNotPromoteQF/> <w:LidThemeOther>EN-GB</w:LidThemeOther> <w:LidThemeAsian>X-NONE</w:LidThemeAsian> <w:LidThemeComplexScript>X-NONE</w:LidThemeComplexScript> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <wontGrowAutofit/> <w:SplitPgBreakAndParaMark/> <wontVertAlignCellWithSp/> <wontBreakConstrainedForcedTables/> <wontVertAlignInTxbx/> <w:Word11KerningPairs/> <w:CachedColBalance/> </w:Compatibility> <m:mathPr> <m:mathFont m:val="Cambria Math"/> <m:brkBin m:val="before"/> <m:brkBinSub m:val="--"/> <m:smallFrac m:val="off"/> <m:dispDef/> <m:lMargin m:val="0"/> <m:rMargin m:val="0"/> <m:defJc m:val="centerGroup"/> <m:wrapIndent m:val="1440"/> <m:intLim m:val="subSup"/> <m:naryLim m:val="undOvr"/> </m:mathPr></w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--> But desptite this, i am going to have a crack at getting promoted to the top league straight away. It would be amazing but the Championship is difficult and it just might not be possible to get one of those promotion slots.
And if i did get promoted, i would probably switch my formation and tactics in preparation for the onslaught of attacks from world class teams.

Hallberg sent a corner into the box that van Nieff made a good run and rose up to head it down into the bottom left corner of the goal. Storm dribbled in from the left wing and split two defenders using quick touches to avoid the tackles before firing inside the near post. Steinhofer expertly crossed the ball from the left side of the goal to Adlung who beat Gießelmann to the header on the back post. Çiftçi expertly led the counter getting ahead of the defense before playing it across the box to Rubin who slotted it back to the right post as the keeper adjusted to where he was.

Julian Green played the ball into the middle of the box off a corner kick that Sobiech was able to head into the center of the goal where the keeper had just moved from. Çiftçi got the ball at midfield and showed off some skill as he spun around the defender and raced down the right side of the goal hitting it strong back to the top left corner. Çiftçi played Green down the right side of the box who then sent a cross back to Çiftçi who used his head to flick it back to the far post. Storm was dragged down by his shirt in the box and van Nieff used a stutter step approach to bury the penalty in the back of the net. Barrada got one back for Marseille after Khedira couldn't quite clear the ball and it fell to his feet for the easy finish. Van Nieff played the ball to Rubin just outside the box who used quick touches to dribble through the defense and slot it home on the near post.

FC St. Pauli 0 - Eint. Frankfurt 2
            FFM - Batshuayi 23', Chandler 62'
            MOTM: Wiedwald

Batshuayi made a run towards the top of the box and had the ball played to him just as he reached the edge and fired a first time left footed shot perfectly into the top right corner. Buballa overplayed the ball and left the back door wide open for Chandler to sneak in to receive the pass and finish easily back across the goal to the far post and double the lead.

FC Schalke 1 - FC St. Pauli 2
            S04 - Meyer 79'
            STP - Green 60', van Nieff 67'
            MOTM: Stanek[/b]

Rubin drew the defense away as Green used his pace to race past the defense with the ball and go through on goal to place the ball around the keeper into the bottom right side of the goal. Yoell van Nieff took advantage of a Schalke foul and stepped over the ball from 30 yards out and struck it perfectly into the top right corner of the net. Meyer was able to cut the lead in half after avoiding 2 challenges while working his way to the middle of the box and curling it inside the far post.

FC St Pauli 2 - VFB Stuttgart 2
            STP - Çiftçi 33', Rubin 90'
            VFB - Rausch 35', Maxim 90'
            MOTM: Maxim

Michal Mak played Buballa down the left wing to then send in a cross that found Çiftçi's head and settled into right side of the goal. Rausch answered back making a completely unmarked back post run after Brosinski left his assignment and he finished the cross easily to equalize. With time running out Michal Mak played Rubin through on goal to beat the keeper and place the ball just inside the right post. After St. Pauli seemed to have won it late, Stuttgart found an equalizer with a cross into the box that found Maxim after Buballa lost him and he finished it to the far post.

            Europa League Semi-Final Leg 1
FC St. Pauli 4 - Aston Villa 3
            STP - van Nieff 16' (Pen), 74', Hallberg 28', 57'
            AVL - Delph 65', 70', Benteke 90' (Pen)
            MOTM: Hallberg

After Green was taken down in the box, van Nieff converted the penalty with a great shot into the left side of the goal. Buchtmann found Hallberg outside of the box on the right who then took one touch and fired a strong shot that hit off the right post and in. Çiftçi chipped the ball ahead to Hallberg who went through on goal and finished easily into the bottom left side of the goal. Delph got Villa on the board with a smart run up the middle for a first time hit past the keeper. He added a second just 5 minutes later after getting the ball at the top of the box and hitting it into the top left corner. Yoell van Nieff then stepped up to take a free kick from outside the top right corner of the box and he placed it perfectly into the bottom right corner. Benteke then converted a late penalty to close the lead to 1 going into the second leg.

Borussia Dortmund 3 - FC St. Pauli 0
            BVB - Reus 3', 57', Aubameyang 16'
            MOTM: Reus

Jovetic flicked the ball just past Bucthmann to Reus on a run up the middle for a first time strike inside the right post. Aubameyang played a great give and go with Reus to get free down the right side of the goal and beat the keeper to double the lead. Hummels got forward with the ball and played it to Reus at the top of the box for a quick turn and shoot to the bottom left corner.

            Europa League Semi-Final Leg 2
            Aston Villa 1 (4) - FC St. Pauli 2 (6)
            AVL - Benteke 25' (Pen)
            STP - Werner 65', van Nieff 90'
            MOTM: Stanek[/i]

Bacuna slid to block Benteke's shot in the box but barely missed getting the ball and was shown a red card. Benteke converted the ensuing penalty to bring the aggregate even. Werner was able to get around the left side of the defense on a counter and go through on goal to fire a shot that was saved by Guzan. Werner followed the rebound and was able to get there first and tap it in to equalize and put St. Pauli back ahead on aggregate. With the final whistle ready to sound, Çiftçi won a penalty that van Nieff was able to convert to guarantee a trip to the final for St. Pauli.

            Hannover 2 - FC St. Pauli 3
            H96 - Stindl 45', Milik 78'
            STP - Green 33', Rubin 43', 74'
            MOTM: Green

Green played the ball wide to Werner who sent a low cross back into the box that found Green for the tap in. Van Nieff chipped a perfect pass over the back line for Green to run on to and draw the keeper in before laying it off across the goal for Rubin to tap in. Just before half Stindl was able to head the ball into the top left corner off a cross he beat Bomheuer in the air to. Rubin dribbled from left to right across the top of the box before unleashing a strong right footed shot into the top right corner. Milik answered back just minutes later with a header past the keeper on a cross that once again had Bomheuer being beaten to it.

St. Pauli Player of the Month

            Yoell van Nieff

The Dutch midfielder did it all this month on the pitch. While the rest of the team seemingly struggled, Yoell van Nieff found opportunities to shine. Scoring 6 goals, contributing to several others, and playing his holding midfielder role at a high level, he was the obvious choice to take home the player of the month award.

            Press Conference
Q: You dropped quite a lot of points this month, but the even worse form of M'Gladbach helped you to rise to 3rd anyway. With just 1 match left and you tied on points, do you think you will be able to hold off M'Gladbach and even Leverkusen with a win over Hertha?

A: Our form has been poor this month, but we still managed to earn just enough points to put us in this position. If we had played to our potential we would have it locked up already, but that's football for you. The amount of goals we conceded was completely unacceptable though, and if we want to hold on to this spot we have to be better in this last match.

Q: A fantastic win over Schalke has advanced you to the final of the Deutscher Pokal for the second year in a row. It will be an exact rematch of last season with Bayern Munich also having advanced. What does your team need to do in order to beat Bayern for the second year in a row?

A: Defend, defend, defend. They are unbelievably dangerous as we all know. There's no doubt they will have their best XI out there, and the likes of Robben, Ribery, Muller, Gotze, Lewandoski, and others is a tall order to go against. We need to win the possession battle, finish our chances, and take away as many chances as possible from them.

Q: In other cup news, you knocked out Aston Villa after an exciting two legs in the Europa League Semi-Finals. The first leg was a scoring spectable, but you took care of business in the second leg to advance to the final. Your opponent is Galatasaray, what can you tell us about them and what approach you will take in the match?

A: Galatasaray are consistently one of the best clubs in Turkey, and while I can't say I'm all too familiar with the Turkish clubs, they are a great club nonetheless. They have a very balanced team, and we will have to in top form to come out on top. I won't get too into strategy since it would be foolish to say too much, but we know what style of football we like to play and what we need to do in order to get it done.

@BiloxiSmitty - Pretty solid 3 games, but that 7-1 victory really stands out, oh my. I guess playing with Valencia is pretty fun!

@Tex - Dortmund and Reus again, you can't escape them. But if I look at you whole month, it was pretty good - defeating two teams in Europa league, beating Schalke and in the finals, not bad at all! I hope you can retain your place in the league, keep it up! Really fun and interesting to read!

About my own career: Cheers for the moment of silence, but I have now wrote up my first post with a new team, and I hope you enjoy it.

I also made about 10 saves and stored 5 of them in the computer, so this doesn't happen again

An incredibly tough draw in only the second round. The team was really up against it here. The first 15 minutes was all Arsenal and then we had some chances for the next 10. It started to get a bit end to end for the remainder of then half with James having a wonderful chance right at the end when he headed off the crossbar from a corner. We came out in the second half the better team and Donnelly hit the woodwork twice inside 20 minutes. Vickers, the Arsenal keeper, then conceded a penalty and got himself sent off for taking Donnelly down late as he went to head the ball. Szczesny had to come on for the penalty but was unable to stop it as Miller placed it really well. We managed to hold onto the one goal lead and amazingly ended up dumping Arsenal out of the cup. We rode out luck at times with Arsenal's shooting needing a lot of practice. But it's still an amazing result!

                  MotM: Charlie Wyke

Rory Donnelly missed this game as he was away on international duty with Northern Ireland. Things got really difficult for Luton when they went down to 10 men after just 20 minutes. Stevenson picked up 2 yellows extremely quickly and was off for an early shower. It took us until the 81st minute to break through the stubborn Luton defence. Wyke dispossessed Franks inside his own area and then managed to get it under Tyler to take a very late lead against 10 men. We were a bit flat today.

                  MotM: Rory Donnelly

James was brought down by Hughes winning us a penalty right before halftime. Miller calmly dispatched it to give us the lead. James doubled the lead after running onto a Donnelly through ball and then turning in on his left before finishing it in off the post. Compton turned back inside his man onto his right foot and swung in a cross that Donnelly headed like a bullet in off the bottom of the crossbar. A dominant display in which Donnelly and James were instrumental. Tommy Miller ran things from midfield and Compton was rampant down the left wing following Brobbel's departure back to Middlesbrough. Flinders was solid in goals when he was called upon.

                  Donnelly 90' (James)

MotM: Rory Donnelly (Luke James narrowly missed out.)

After Reed had to he replaced by Woods as he picked up a sprained ankle Franks opened the scoring. James and Donnelly were both involved with Donnelly getting the assist. Franks made a great run through the Accrington defence and slid the ball past the helpless keeper. A strong finish from us started when the keeper threw it high out to his left back who strangely volleyed it up into the air. Donnelly won the header and knocked it down to James. He passed it through to Donnelly. Donnelly seeing that the keeper was charging him down opted to unselfishly pass it across for James to tap in. Beattie then struck the crossbar after we gave away a free on the edge of the box. Walker turned inside the left back and tried to square it for Donnelly but the keeper got a hand to it pushing it away. It only went as far as James however and he was never going to miss for there. Donnelly made it 4-0 dribbling past Mingoia's attempted sliding tackle in the box and curled it past the keeper with ease.

Harrison Reed is out for 3 weeks with a Sprained Ankle.

                  Hipperdinger 71'

                  MotM: Charlie Wyke

Walker chipped the ball over the defence and Wyke buried it to give us a 1-0 lead at the break. Wyke extended the lead after halftime. James tackled the center half and then passed it across to Wyke in space on the edge of the box. He drilled it in for his second of the game. Hipperdinger got past Harrison and Collins to get straight through on goal where he calmly tucked the ball away. I got a shock at the end of that game as Charlie Wyke had to go back to Middlesbrough as his loan expired and after having such a good game.

                  News
Scott Harrison's loan expired and the central defender has gone back to Sunderland.

Charlie Wyke's loan has also come to an end and the striker returned to his parent club Middlesbrough.

"Another very good victory in the cup against a Premier League side! Rory (Donnelly) and Luke (James) were excellent up top with the limited service they got. They work really well together. It was a great team performance."

                  James 83' (Donnelly)

                  MotM: Rory Donnelly

Rory Donnelly did it again getting a hat trick and an assist. His first showcased his strength backing up against the defender before turning around him to finish. His second showed his goal poaching ability finishing a spilled save from a Franks shot. He's not poor at penalties either slotting one in on the hour mark. He then set up a wonderful goal from Luke James. James struck it from the edge of the area with his laces and it rocketed into the top corner through the legs of the defender. Another good victory as we have not been beaten yet this season aside from Preseason.

Part 1 - August and Introduction

                      Why Stuttgart?

Well, there are a few good reasons. First, I have never actually managed a German team. Bundesliga has been pretty interesting this year and I figured that, instead of playing with a English team like I always do, I should try something else.

Second, the roster that Stuttgart have. They have a bunch of young talent that could really develop into amazing players. It also looks like a fun team to play with, so why not?

Thirdly, as weird as this is going to sound, Tex. Everytime I read Tex's career mode, it looks really interesting - the games look fun, Werner looks like a good player, so that made me want to play with a German team even more.

                      Transfers
                      In

                      Niklas Stark - from 1. FC Nürnberg - € 3.000.000
                      Patrick Herrmann - from Borussia Mönchengladbach - € 8.500.000

                      Out

                      Mohammed Abdellaoue - to Hertha Berlin - € 8.000.000

Why Herrmann? Well, firstly, I felt that the right side of the pitch was not strong in depth, so I wanted to bring in a player for the future, but who can still be impactful at the moment. I tried to go for Böetius, Narsingh and Iborra, but they declined the offers. Finally, Herrmann was the one to join, so it still played out pretty well.

Why Stark? Well, just because I know that he can develop into a big player, so I figured that the more talent in, the better.

Why get rid of Abdellaoue? I wasn't planning to, but when the offer came in, I figured why not. I tried looking for a replacement, but sadly, it did not work out. Maybe I can find one in January.

                      Bundesliga
                      Matchday 1
                      VfL Stuttgart 3-0 Borussia Mönchengladbach

                      61' Maxim (Leitner)
                      71' Harnik (PEN)
                      83' Maxim (Ginczek)

So my first game of the season was against Borussia M'Gladbach, a tough team to face against with a lot of talented players. Since it was my first time playing with the team, I was really wondering how it will go.

The game started very difficult, both teams going at and really pressuring. We had some good chances that we could not finish, yet the first half was really about our defenders - they were really on point and playing well, getting infront of shots and making the goalkeepers life easier.

It took us time to break through, yet in the second half, Leitner passed it to Maxim, who turned around to get open and slotted it in the corner, a great goal. A few minutes later, Ibisevic got taken down in the box and we earned a penalty. Harnik hit it very well - the keeper jumped right, while he hit it left.

After that, Borussia put more players upfront to get a goal, yet that allowed us to counter attack. Ginczek, the substitute, didn't get past a defender, yet he passed it to Maxim, who was 1-on-1 with the keeper and finished it well. The game ended 3-0, a fantastic start to our season and I really got a good picture of our team.

                      Bundesliga
                      Matchday 2
                      1. FC Köln 0-3 VfL Stuttgart

                      7' Ibisevic (Klein)
                      17' Didavi (Ibisevic)
                      47' Didavi (Ibisevic)

So the last game of the month was against Köln, a team I felt that we should beat pretty easily. And when Klein won the ball and got on a counter, he passed it to Ibisevic, who took a fake shot past his man and slammed it into the top corner.

A few minutes later, it was Didavi who broke past the defense. He was getting tackled hard, yet when he managed to get in the box, he finished it with ease. I was really pleasently surprised. Even with a different side, we were still playing our style of football, just like first game - not giving the opponent a chance, yet being threatning every time we have the ball.

Didavi managed to bag one more, after a cross by Herrmann reached Ibisevic, who played it back to Didavi and he slammed it in. Another 3-0 victory, meaning that our great start to this season was no fluke.

                      MOTM: Vedad Ibisevic

                      Man of the Month

                      Sven Ulreich

I was really thinking hard on who should be the best player of the month, and while Ulreich wasn't the man of the match, both of the games were clean-sheets, so you could say that he deserves to be the best player this month, even if the month only had 2 games.

                      League Table

                      My Thoughts

Right, where do I start. First, I am really surprised on how fun this game is and how well our first games went. I thought they would be a bit more difficult, yet we played really well. The defense is actually super and attacking wise, we have a lot of talent. We might lack a bit of striking talent, but the midfield makes up for it.

Though next month will give me a better picture, since the games will be tougher - Bayern (A), Hoffenheim (H), Dortmund (A) and Hannover (H). I guess after those games, I will truely see how we will do this season.

The critics have us finishing at 11th, which I don't see us doing at all. The lowest I can accept is 7th, but I really think we can fight for the top spots.

I know the first post is a bit long, but the next one will be shorter, I promise. I hope you enjoyed it, please, leave your comments if you have anything to say. Have a good day!

Congrats on getting to the Cup and Europa League finals! A bit disappointing in some games but it seems M'Gladbach did even worse! It should be an exciting finish to see who ends up where in the table! Also it looks like Lechleiter made it to May?

You seemed to have settled into the Championship very nicely! The 5-0 win against Blackburn must have been the highlight. You lost to Leicester but they are top and probably one of the best teams in the league so there's no shame in that. Your new signings looked to have gelled really quickly. Good luck with the rest of the season!

Thirdly, as weird as this is going to sound, Tex. Everytime I read Tex's career mode, it looks really interesting - the games look fun, Werner looks like a good player, so that made me want to play with a German team even more.

*cough* there's a team called Hertha in the Bundesliga and I may have used them in my careers *cough*

I'm kidding, this career is looking very interesting. I've thought about it being interesting to do a career with Stuttgart and I'm glad someone is doing it. A very good start and I'm happy that you decideed to keep Ibisevic.

"When Rodney Strasser got sent off in the sixth minute we took complete control of the game. Kaan's (Ayhan) free kick goal was a beauty and the whole team had a good game. Eric (Choupo-Moting) is in great form."

"I have no idea how we managed to beat Milan. They had 78% possession in the first half and we didn't have a single shot but somehow we managed to take the lead in the second half. We were clinical in attack and both of our shots on target went in. We didn't deserve the win."

"The team has been playing amazingly and this was another great victory from the lads. Inter dominated us in the first thirty minutes but after that the game was ours. Eric (Choupo-Moting) was spectacular again and he's one of our most important players right now. He's our own Ronaldo: skillful, fast, strong, good in the air and a great finisher."

                                Napoli 0 - 1 Hellas Verona

"This match was a very hard one. Napoli are a good team and they're very hard to beat. Both teams had some chances but both defences played well today. I was afraid that our 100% winning run in the league would end but luckily it didn't happen."

                                Hellas Verona 2 - 0 Fiorentina

"Three down, one to go. Our next game is against Manchester United in the Champions League and after that we won't have that many tough games. Fiorentina were a good opposition but we were simply better. Breel (Embolo) did a fine job again and he has earned a starting spot in the lineup."

                                Player of the Month

                                Eric Choupo-Moting

The biggest star of the team gets his first player of the month award of the season after scoring seven goals in October. The Cameroonian has now scored a goal more than he has appearances and he is scoring for fun.

                                Hor or Not

                                Hot

                                Eric Choupo-Moting

The player of the month netted seven goals in this month, including a hattrick against Inter Milan.

                                Breel Embolo

The other Cameroonian attacker of the team scored a couple of good goals and he assisted a few, as well. His good form even earned him a starting spot in the team in front of out of form striker Paulo Dybala.

                                Kaan Ayhan

Ayhan started the month as a central defender but after Pedro Obiang DECIDED TO BECOME AN ATTACKER he was moved back to a defensive midfielder and he performed well there.

                                Not

                                Pedro Obiang

Another defensive midfielder, another Rode syndrome. He had so much potential in him...

                                Paulo Dybala

Dybala used to be the teams star but he certainly hasn't been that for the last half a year. Now the young Argentinian has trouble getting into the starting eleven because he hasn't been performing well enough.
