The highlighted part of your post explains why you aren't a football club manager/coach/owner. Players are paid to win. Entertainment is secondary. And as I mentioned, I'm not discussing this anymore. You can go ahead and look up ALL the matches for this season to find the answer yourself. I enjoy watching my team win games. As a Chelsea fan, I'm entertained when I see us win games and lift trophies. So I would say that's my players doing their jobs right.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Woah man. I was just having a bit of banter, as was Simppu. It's just something that Chelsea fans will learn to live with, being called boring. It's the same thing as constantly having yourself taking the piss out for not winning a Premier League title. Slippy G! I respect your team and the players. Hazard is by far and away the best player in the league. You have 2 of the best keepers in the world and imo Terry is the best centre-back in the world. You play to your strengths. Plus, I am a teency bit jealous that you keep winning :P
Also, fair play to you for admitting that you're a bit jealous. Takes a big man to front up about that, and I have tremendous respect for you as a bloke after that. Your club enjoyed a tremendous run of success for years and years. It's our turn now, and one day, you'll be back at the top and we'll be back at the bottom. May not happen concurrently, but football is cyclic. You will win again someday.Comment

Hey, see the little ":P" at the end of the post? It means that it's not that serious of a post. Also, there's nothing wrong with the players obeying their manager. It's Mourinho's fault that you play so defensively.-Simppu12-

I don't think you're a manager/coach/owner, either :P I agree with Jamie on this one. Even though winning is very important in football pretty much everyone prefers the team to play football that's at least slightly entertaining. Parking the bus in the 20th minute doesn't fit in that category. Teams like Barca, Real and Bayern also win very often but they still play attractive and interesting football. If they can do it Chelsea can do it. Jorge Valdano is one example of football experts who do not like too defensive football.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Sorry, mate. Didn't mean for my reply to you to come off with any aggro. Simppu's post was childish, so my reply to his was definitely not in a kind tone, but I was simply debating with you. Sorry if it come across as angry. No, the truth is that no team goes through a whole season playing attractive football. Even Barcelona with their attack have had to play tight and hit teams on the break throughout this season. The 5-3 loss to Spurs and 4-2 to Bradford came after weeks of excellent, free-flowing football. Jose wanted to avoid us dropping points and losing the title like Liverpool did last season or United did three years ago, so he reverted to type. And you'll not find many Chelsea fans who have a problem with that, and we pay our players' salaries, so while other clubs' fans have a right to their opinions, they shouldn't expect those opinions to have any weight.
Also, fair play to you for admitting that you're a bit jealous. Takes a big man to front up about that, and I have tremendous respect for you as a bloke after that. We should have gone defensive against you. That way, no slip, title is ours, Suarez stays, world class players like Sanchez join, we're back in the title race for the second season. But unfortunately for us, Rodgers last season was too focused on attack.
I hate being jealous, but it's true. You've got the money to attract the players, a solid defence and league titles. Well at least we've got a history dating further back than '03Comment

Let's see. I support two clubs: the other one is -surprise, surprise- Hertha Berlin and the other one is Real Madrid. Why I support RM, you may wonder. It's a long story but basically it's because my dad used to work in Madrid and he started supporting them and it carried over in the family.-Simppu12-

That's the beauty of football and destiny. Even if you had played defensively against Chelsea Gerrard could have always slipped. It was just meant to happen. The most ironic and funny thing imo is that he said "this will not f*cking slip" after some game few weeks earlier. I'm not sure if Suarez would've stayed but hey, it's not worth speculating anymore.Comment

As for your point about Suarez, he'd have gone regardless. Barcelona was always his end target because his wife has family there, and nothing matters more to him than Sofia. As for signing world class players, that is something you will need to take up with the committee. Rodgers was a tw*t even when he was coaching our academy, and there's not a single coach at Chelsea or Reading who have a good word to say about him. This season is proof that Suarez made him look like a genius.
But I can see where the boring jibes come from, and while I think it's mostly down to selective memory or a way for people to mask their jealousy, I guess it's part of the way things are. But hell, the season we scored 103 goals I actually had Arsenal fans telling me that we were too cruel to the teams we beat by 4, 5 and 6 goal margins! I guess people will always find a reason to hate what they hate. I agree that we can play with the handbrake off more often, but only when we have complete balance in the team. People forget how Mourinho attacked nonstop the season Madrid won the league. He just needs to have balance and absolute faith in that balance, and until he finds something he can trust enough to play openly each game, he'll do what he must. And even then, he'll always do what has to be done for each individual game. I admire that about him and hope it never goes away.
And oi, again with the history! Do you not remember that we're the first team to win a European trophy? Must have.... slipped your mind.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Nah, didn't mean for it to be hostile at all. Apologies again for that, I can see why you thought that way. But yes, there are times when it looks like you need to play a bit more conservatively. Personally I feel Jose stopped our boys from going all out because he no longer had faith in Cahill, plus Oscar and Fabregas dried up after January. Credit to Cesc, he has put on another show since March, but Oscar has been useless since the new year as he always is. Don't know if that's fatigue or a loss of interest, but it needs sorting out. Personally I think he should be sold in order to sign someone who can give us more balance. I'd like to see Fabregas in the hole and a Pogba/Vidal/Marchisio type next to Matic, but Jose and Emenalo know better than I do. I'll leave it up to them to decide.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
I agree with all your points, especially about Rodgers. I'm in the camp that says, I Klopp can come, get rid of Brendan. I just hope Sterling stays. It's like Man U are trying to give us 4th and we keeps saying, "No, you keep it. We're happy with Thursday nights on ITV4" Ridiculous. It's like Rodgers is playing us with small club mentality, and I don't like that at all! Granted, I wasn't alive when we last won the league but the first memory I have in football was staying up late when I was 6 years old to watch Liverpool win the Champions League! That was only 10 years ago and look where we are!

And yes, I know Tottenham won before us. But that's a line many Chelsea fans use when fighting the no history claim. It's actually supposed to be that we won a European trophy before Liverpool, often gets turned into that...
