Ever Banega floats the ball over the top for Negredo to execute an excellent diving header over Jonathan Bond for the lead.

MAN – Banega (41’)

Ever Banega finds himself on the edge of the penalty area uncontested so he jogs into the middle where he then unleashes a shot that beats the keeper at his near post to knock the stuffing out of Exeter.

Exeter City 1 – Liverpool 2

EXE – Appiah (68’)

Maxime Blanc squares the ball to Appiah on the half-way line who can then turn and run at the defence. His pace takes him past his marker and through on goal where he can slip the ball under the keeper for the first goal of the game.

LIV – Sturridge (70’)

Fabio Borini slots the ball through the defence for Daniel Sturridge who cuts inside before having his shot. The ball slams onto the post before crossing the line and levelling the game up.

LIV – Henderson (85’)

Fabio Borini cuts inside and puts the ball into the path of Jordan Henderson outside the box. Henderson gets a big run up before hitting the ball side-footed into the far corner.

We missed so many chances in the last five minutes. The first of those chances were when Will Grigg received the ball in the penalty area and he tries to shoot but the ball rolls through his legs. Another effort was in the very last minute where Reise Allassani forces a great save out of Simon Mignolet and the ball rolls out to Jason Banton who tries to take a touch instead of just tapping it into the empty goal and he’s instantly dispossessed due to his decision.

AST – Sio (16’)

Ashley Westwood’s pass is blocked and this makes the ball roll through the defence for Giovanni Sio to pounce on it and smash it past Bond.

EXE – Morgunov (PEN) (37’)

Appiah cuts in from the left and he’s unfairly challenged in the area by Ciaran Clark who surely should get a red card. The referee gives Clark no card and Bee explodes with anger on the touchline. It takes the referee himself to give Bee warning to sit back down before he’s sent to the stands and Bee reluctantly complies. Alan Morgunov steps up to take the penalty. He hits it into the right corner where Aston Villa keeper, Emiliano Viviano gets a hand to it but it’s not enough to deny Exeter their equaliser.

EXE – Appiah (43’)

Appiah slots Diego Poyet through on goal who holds up outside the penalty area to give the ball back to Appiah who can sneak the ball in at the keeper’s near post for the lead.

EXE – Morgunov (PEN) (52’)

Alan Morgunov whips a ball to the back post from a corner. It’s a little deep and the ball goes to Reise Allassani on the edge of the box. He advances before being crunched into by Carlos Sánchez and it’s another penalty to Exeter City. This time, Morgunov makes the keeper go the wrong way and it’s Exeter who have a two goal lead.

AST – Kozák (77’)

The defence opens up to allow Libor Kozák to easily just waltz through into the penalty area and find the back of the net using the outside of his right foot.

AST – Delph (81’)

Fabien Delph’s poor touch actually takes him past the half-hearted defending of Exeter which allows him to hit the ball along the ground past the keeper and into the far right corner. Aston Villa get their equaliser!

EXE – Banton (89’)

Jason Banton becomes the super sub as he tries a shot that Fabien Delph throws himself in front of but Banton dummies it and sprints into the box where he can slip the ball under Viviano for what surely is the winning goal!

AST – Gardner (90’)

Aston Villa pour up the field and a one-two with Libor Kozák allows Gary Gardner to flick the ball around the keeper and into the far post from a tight angle. Of course...

West Ham 1 – Exeter City 2

Exeter City have only got one point in their last four games.

EXE – Appiah (9’)

Van Nieff takes a corner from the right and aims for the near post. It’s exactly where Kwabena Appiah wants it and he scrambles in front of his marker to head the ball past Adrián.

WES –Carroll (11’)

Diego Poyet should really tackle Andy Carroll but he allows him to play a one-two with Matt Jarvis to be through on goal and aid the ball past Jonathan Bond for a quick equaliser.

EXE – Appiah (16’)

Leo Chambers passes back to Adrián but Appiah comes out of nowhere to poke the ball past the keeper and across the line and that makes it two-one to Exeter.

- Danny Winnard is a midfielder playmaker who’s left-footed and stands at 6’0. He’s looking at being a very well-rounded player with a range of passing stats, good vision and formidable long shots.

Manager’s Thoughts:

It was a pretty disappointing start to the month before finishing with a solid win. The first two games against Manchester City and Liverpool were understandable due to them being formidable clubs who have amazing players.

We’ve had a lack of form at the back this month and it has been extremely difficult to keep them in shape. It has been way too easy for the opposition to pop the ball over the defence for one of their players. We need a world class defender which is what I’ve decided to focus on in the summer transfer window next season. (Any suggestions? Bearing in mind that it will be 2018)

Our last three games of the season look promising and I’m hoping that we go out with a bang for some conciliation for dropping a few places in the league table.

Nikita Burmistrov comes to us from Anzhi, and the 24-year-old will get a chance to establish himself as our top striker. He was a reserve player for Anzhi this season, appearing in 4 games with 0 goals and 1 assist. He is happy to have a chance at 1st team playing time with Terek Grozny.

CM Pavel Mogilevets, 57 Ovr, Russia, 21 years old
(Purchased from Zenit St. Petersburg for €350,000)

Pavel Mogilevets is a player that could develop into a starting midfielder in the coming years. He was struggling to get playing time at league giants Zenit St. Petersburg as he is yet to appear in a match this season, but he will have more of an opportunity with Terek Grozny. Mogilevets will be placed in the reserve squad, but will see playing time.

LB Dzhamaldin Khodzhaniyazov, 63 Ovr, Russia, 17 years old

Dzhamaldin Khodzhaniyazov is a promising left back that also arrives from Zenit St. Petersburg. Artur Sarkisov was born in Grozny, but represents Armenia at the international level. He is a very versatile player as he can play at striker or in the attacking midfield. He was a reserve player at newly promoted FC Ural, but is Terek Grozny's biggest signing at €1.4 million. Sarkisov has 3 appearances this season with 1 goal. He will also compete for a starting spot.

Antonio Ferreira was one of Terek Grozny's starting center backs, appearing in 12 games this season. He became disgruntled with his wages and demanded a pay increase. Already being 29-years-old, Terek felt a raise wasn't in store for him, so he was instead transfer listed and sold to Italian Serie A club Hellas Verona.

Terek Grozny weren't planning on selling reserve winger Stanislav Murikhin, but FC Rostov made The Chechens an offer they couldn't refuse. Thanks! A lot of the layout was from Indi's Wednesday career so I can't take all the credit. Seeing as I'm only 3/4 points off 2nd I don't see why I can't make a run for the automatic promotion places. The added depth will only boost my chances. I actually was knocked out of the FA Cup in the replay.

Davies in the Academy is looking really good and Appiah has been really good on the pitch. I imagine he will get many offers in the summer. Thanks! Yeah, the Villa game must have been great from a neutral point of view! I was so distraught when they scored in the last minute.

The Europa League is only a dream at the minute. I'm gonna play those games like any other and hopefully I get enough points to go into 6th or 5th in the league.

A lot of draws this month, but it's nice that you were able to still move up a spot. If you had been able to pull off some of those it would have really set you up nicely. Quite a busy transfer window for you though. Can't wait to see how they all fit into the team in the long run.

Tough month, but you played some good clubs. It still makes me so happy to see you carrying on Exeter in the premier league though. I was so disappointed when my career crashed in my first in the Premier League. You are doing really well. 7th is very impressive and you certainly have the chance to climb a few more spots.

Lol I have the same thing going on. My only youth goalkeeper with the senior team can play GK or LB. He has terrible non-goalkeeper stats though so I can't imagine he would do remotely well anywhere else on the pitch.

Yeah, mine that can play LW has about 35 pace and 18 finishing... don't think he'll find a spot in the team other than GK.

Germán Lux

Germán Lux is the man of the hour after allowing only 1 goal in the final 3 matches leading Deportivo to the top of the league. His performance between the sticks was instrumental all season, but none were more important than his 2 clean sheets in the final stretch.

Manager Comments

We are the Champions! - Nothing could feel better. We finished out a fairy tale season that not even I could have dreamed of at the start of the season. A complete reorganization of our squad before the season left a lot of question marks, but each player we brought in played key roles in the end.

Where from here? - It's hard to get our thoughts together on where we go from here. There is still so much we have left to accomplish as a club. Winning the title is great, but there is still the Copa del Rey and European Cups that we still have to aim for. Obviously our main priority will be to do everything we can to repeat our success of this season, but we will have to find a balance among the competitions in order to achieve the greatest success possible in each.

Yeah there was a lot of draws but that just shows how close in quality many Championship teams are. I really wouldn't mind spending another season in the Championship so that I can develop my players more. That's said of course, we aren't going to be losing games on purpose and automatic promotion is definitely within sight.

Congrats on snatching the league from Real at the death! Tomás really came through for you in those last 3 games and when he scores the same amount of goals as Neymar you know just what a good season he had. Lux was also immense keeping the most clean sheets and Guadrado was too with those 10 assists. Good luck with next season and I hope you can win the Copa Del Rey and make a good run in the Champions League while also retaining the league title!

I'm also trying to decide whether to partner Moore or Lascelles with Mancienne. Right now it's Moore as Lascelles won't be here next season and I want Moore to develop. Both Rees and Grant's contracts are up in 6 months so I may just let them run out as they aren't ever going to be good enough for the team. I also tried to offload Abdoun in the last window but Blackburn ran out of time when negotiating his contract. Evtimov was also going to be sold but he rejected a move to Exeter and some Saudi club. If he doesn't find a club in the summer he will be released. I'm also going to look for a young left back to replace Fox as backup and eventually Cohen as a starter. Maybe Jordan Obita, Declan John, Andrew Robertson (As a bigger signing) or Baba.

Once again, Kwabena Appiah has been a goal scoring machine! He’s the a big reason for why I’m doing so well in the league and he deserves to get our player of the year award.

- This 5’10 right-footer looks to be an amazing striker. His best attributes are his heading accuracy, shot power, finishing and ball control. This physically strong youth player should be the real deal once he joins the ranks of the senior team.

- Danny Winnard is a midfielder playmaker who’s left-footed and stands at 6’0. He’s looking at being a very well-rounded player with a range of passing stats, good vision and formidable long shots.

- Max McFadzean stands at 5’9” and it a RW with great ball control, dribbling, long shots, finishing and acceleration. This right footed winger could be gifted but only scouting further will tell.

- Not too much is known about Rostyn Woodcock except that he’s blessed with pace and agility and that this left-footed player plays in the CAM position.

Manager’s Thoughts:

It’s been a very difficult season but we have proved our critics that we can stay in this league and that we can even challenge for the top five. We’ve managed to get into the Europa League and we’re ecstatic! So much parting today and tomorrow!

We’ve got to buckle down soon due to my intention of bringing new players to the squad to strengthen our position for the next season and I’ve just received that we have eleven million pounds to play with at the start of next season and a ninety-thousand wage budget too!
