Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

    The New Clough

    Preseason 2015

    Objectives
    - Avoid Relegation (Mid-table finish after I requested funds)
    - Reach Round of 32

    Budget
    - £3.200.000 (£3.300.00 extra after I requested funds)
    - £15.000

    Pre-Contract Arrivals

Alex McCarthy - GK, 75 Ovr, 25, England

The Englishman arrives from Reading after agreeing a move in January. He comes in to replace Karl Darlow when his loan ended at the end of last season. He is still young, 25, for a goalkeeper so he has a bright future ahead. He has been capped three times at U21 level for England but has yet to make his senior debut. He most recently was named in the squad for friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil although he didn't make an appearance.

    Transfers In

Joost van Aken - CB, Ovr, 21, Netherlands

Young and athletic, Joost arrives from Sc Heerenveen in a £800.000 deal. The Dutchman is left footed and can be utilized on the left side of defence as well as in his natural position. He is 6'4" and has a very good range of passing for a centre half. He has been capped twice at U21 level for his country.

Lewis Baker - CAM, 68 Ovr, 20, England

This talented young footballer arrives from Chelsea on a season long loan. He is equally adept with both feet and can play deeper in midfield too. He has a great set piece ability and an excellent range of passing. It remains to be seen whether or not he will be a starter or second choice.

Deniz Turuc - CM, 68 Ovr, 22, Turkey

Go Ahead Eagles allowed to him to join us for a fee of £1.200.000 along with Chris Burke. The Turkish midfielder is very good technically and will most likely be second choice behind Lansbury if the Englishman is deployed deeper in midfield. He has appeared for both the Dutch and Turkish underage sides.

Luis Pavez - LB, 70 Ovr, 19, Chile

The Chilean fullback has transferred from Colo-Colo for £2.000.000 plus Jamie Mackie. He looks like club captain, Chris Cohen's, long term and possibly his short term replacement. He has made three appearances for both the Chilean U20 and U21 sides.

Devante Cole - ST, 65 Ovr, 20, England

The son of former Manchester United legend Andy Cole, Devante, has joined from Manchester City for a bargain fee of £250.000. The striker will play a rotational role this season and possibly next season as well. He can play anywhere across the front three and is extremely quick for his 6'1" size. His strength is the only let down however.

    Promoted Youth Players

Kyle Harvey - RB, 67 Ovr, 17, England
    *Has Potential To Be Special

Kyle is the first player to be called up to the senior squad during Keano's tenure. The pacey fullback has some really good stats and has all the necessary attributes to be an attacking force. He could even challenge Eric Lichaj for the starting spot this season. He can play at centre half but his height is certainly a disadvantage.

    Spoiler

Argus Tsolakoglou - GK, 70 Ovr, 16, Greece
    *Has Potential To Be Special

The 6'4" 16 year old takes over the backup keeper duties from Dorus de Vries. He has massive potential and will get as much game time as possible. Most of this will likely come in the cup competitions. He will no doubt have a bright future with us and internationally with Greece.

    Spoiler

    Transfers Out

Radoslaw Majewski - CAM, 68 Ovr, 28, Poland - £1.000.000 to Norwich City

Chris Burke - RM, 69 Ovr, 31, Scotland - Part of Deal for Deniz Turuc to Go Ahead Eagles

Jamie Mackie - RM, 68 Ovr, 28, Scotland - Part of Deal for Luis Pavez to Colo-Colo

    Djamel Abdoun - LM, 69 Ovr, 29, Algeria - £850.000 to QPR

    July 28, City Ground
    Friendlies: Game 1

    Nott'm Forest 1-2 Hamburger SV

    Veldwijk 24'
    Müller 9' Skjelbred 51'

    July 31, Dreisamstadion
    Friendlies: Game 2

    SC Freiburg 4-0 Nott'm Forest

    Guédé 19' Günter 43' 71' Mehmedi 53'

    55 Ovr GK

    Aug 3, City Ground
    Friendlies: Game 3

    Nott'm Forest 0-1 AC Milan

    Alex 51' s/o Nocerino 64'

    All Simmed

    August Fixtures
    15/8 Swansea City (h)
    22/8 West Ham (a)
    29/8 Southampton (h)

    Targeted Points: 4/9

    Conclusion
I know that all the games were simmed, but I'm just so excited to be playing back in the Premier League! I also wanted to concentrate on the transfers. All of which I think are fairly good. McCarthy should be solid in goal and Tsolakoglou will no doubt be a great understudy. I'm looking forward to using the other youth graduate Harvey also. I think that he can be very good going forward. The reasons for the other transfers are already given.

Our first three games are all against very sturdy mid-table opponents. Although now that I have said we will finish mid-table to get extra funds we'll need to pick up points in these types of games.

That's it for now as I don't want to write too much! Thanks for Reading and I hope you enjoyed it!

Right, before I post my Schalke update, I'm just gonna say that I have read all of your posts, but just didn't make any notes to actually comment on them. So, if anybody doesn't want to comment on mine before I comment on theirs next - fine by me, I completely get it. I just want to say that I have been busy, yet I haven't forgotten you lads. League Table

          --

Games against Regens and Jamie - Well, I got the win over Jamie, which did result in a penalty missed by Xhaka and a bit of luck, yet Dortmund was the tougher team. I struggled against them.

Eric Julian Choupo-Draxler - These two have been absolutely amazing, as they both have scored 7 goals in the league. The duo is the main thing for our success.

No pictures - Sorry for the lack of pictures, it is due to the fact that I posted a 2 month summary.

Thanks for the read, I hope you enjoyed it. Take care !

            Inter Milan
            Season 1
            February 2015

            Objectives:
            Qualify for the Champions League
Reach the Final of the Europa League
Reach the Semi Final of the Domestic Cup

            League Match
            Sassuolo 1 - 2 Inter
            Floccari 23’
            Palacio 63’
            Mane 89’

            MOTM Palacio

Sassuolo started well and dominated the first half hour and scored a nice header that Floccari touched just enough to get it past Leno, who saved us on multiple occasions on his debut. After half time we grew into the game and just past the hour mark Palacio went on the counter running past two defenders and then slotting the ball home just past the keeper’s near post. Mane on his debut would score the goal to get us on three points. Icardi, subbed on for his first game since returning from injury, played a ball over the top and Mane ran on to it and glided past the keeper for an easy tap in.

            TIM Cup
            Juventus 1 - 1 Inter
            Evra (RED) 11’
            Morata 23’
            Palacio 64’

            MOTM Leno

Despite going down to 10 men early on Juventus controlled the game. Evra got a red for a harsh challenge on Danilo who was lucky to come away uninjured. Morata placed the ball well from 6 yards after he was played through and then beat a man. Palacio was in the right place at the right time for a rebound off the cross bar. Shaqiri crossed the ball and Depay got to hit but his header hit the bar whistle the keeper was on the ground Palacio had a free header that he hit straight down the middle and into the empty net.

            League Match
            Inter 2 - 0 Palermo
            Icardi 31’ 73’

            MOTM Icardi

Glad to keep a clean sheet and get the three points. We dominated the game and they had very few chances. We started brightly when the ball was in the back of the net seven minutes in, sadly it was disallowed for offside. Icardi had a great game for his first start in months because of the injury and I was happy to see him bag a brace. His first goal was a first time finish from just outside the six when Podolski crossed it on the ground and he ran on to it perfectly. His second he ran all by himself from half field to the penalty spot beating five defenders in the process and then ran past the keeper and passed the ball into the net.

            League Match
            Inter 1 - 0 Torino
            Depay 62’

            MOTM Depay

An even match with both sides getting lots of chances. We started well and had the first several chances, including Guarin hitting the post from 37 yards out. After that chance though our fortunes changed and we were under heavy fire from the away team until half. We regrouped at halftime and came out firing on all cylinders. In the 62’ Shaqiri would break down the wing only to have his shot blocked. Lucky for us the ball bounced to Depay who hit it on the volley into the open net. For the rest of the game we were under lots of pressure and Leno made some key saves to keep us in the lead.

            League Match
            Atalanta 1 - 4 Inter
            Pinilla 6’
            Obi 39’
            Cigarini (RED) 57’
            Icardi 76’ (PEN) 81’ 85’

            MOTM Icardi

Atalanta’s goal came from a cross that Vidic tried to head away, but it was a poor clearance and went straight to Pinilla who headed it in far post. In the 39’ we had a corner that Podolski would pass to Obi at the top of the box and he took a touch then hit it on the half volley and it went upper 90 far post. Twelve minutes after half Cigarini was awarded his second yellow when he tackled Icardi from behind with a sliding challenge. With Atalanta down to 10 men we were able to keep the ball better and work it around for the openings. Icardi’s first goal was header and the cross was put into the box perfectly from Podolski on the right side. Five minutes later Mane was taken down in the box as he shot and was awarded the penalty. Icardi stepped up to take it and sent the keeper the wrong way. a few minutes later Icardi would get on the end of another cross this time from the left side that Mane crossed in.

            Obi’s attempt on goal.

            Europa League
            Lokomotiv 1 - 0 Inter
            Niasse 24’

            MOTM Abaev

Lokomotiv parked the bus and counter attacked the entire game and it was very frustrating to play against. Niasse would be played through and bullied Ranocchia off the ball and took a shot from 25 yards out that was unstoppable and went to the top corner far post where Leno had no chance. On the other side we created lots of chances, but Lokomotiv keeper Abaev stopped everything and ended the game with 9 saves. I am disappointed we didn’t at least get an away goal. We will just have to make sure we keep a clean sheet in the next leg.

            League Match
            Cagliari 2 - 2 Inter
            Longo 16’ 51’
            Mane 45’
            Vidic 69’
            Avelar (RED) 78’

            MOTM Leno

Cagliari dominated this game and forced us into counter attacking and defending deep. Longo scored his first goal when Leno made a good save but the ball bounced straight into the path of Longo who had an easy finish. Mane equalized by running down the line and cutting in to smash the ball near post right through the keeper’s legs. Longo put Cagliari ahead once again in the 51’ when he was played through and then passed into into the net with one touch from the penalty spot. In the 60’ Santon gave up a penalty with a harsh challenge on Longo. Longo would step up to take the penalty and hit it the left, Leno was able to get a hand to it to knock it wide. Vidic equalized with a header from a corner kick that was swung in by Kovacic.

            Europa League
            Inter 3 - 0 Lokomotiv
            Palacio (PEN) 20’ (PEN) 49’
            Shishkin (RED) 47’
            Depay 58’
            Tarasov (RED) 60’

            MOTM Palacio

In a game that was a must win for us we came out and played fantastically. We put pressure on them right away and Depay and his tricky dribbling won us a penalty. Palacio stepped up and powered it to the left and sent the keeper the wrong way. Directly after halftime Depay was in the box about to shoot and Shishkin slid from behind only touching Depay and received a straight red. Palacio kicked it to the same spot and was successful once again. Depay would once again run down the left flank and beat 4 defenders before placing a nice shot to the back post that was perfectly in the bottom corner. We won the ball off the Lokomotiv forward and started forward only for Palacio to be hacked down by Tarasov to collect his second yellow and was sent off as well. Down to nine men Lokomotiv never looked like scoring and we advance to the next round with an aggregate score of 3-1. We will be facing CSKA Moskva in the Round of 16.

            League Table:

            Europa League:

            Thoughts on this month:

The game against Cagliari was really the only blip this month. If we had won that game we would still be top of the table so it is disappointing that we only tied. The title race is very close this season but hopefully we can win it. the gap between us and 4th is quite large though and I would be surprised if any of the top 3 drop below 3rd. Our signings have been great so far, all of them have brought something good to the club and I’m happy with all of them. Specifically Depay whose tricky dribbling and his pace have been a huge asset thus far. This month alone our opponents collected 5 red cards against us, all of them but one on their right side trying to defend Depay. I’m glad that we made it through to the Round of 16 in the Europa League because the first game in Russia had me sceptical about if we would make it through. Against Juventus in the next leg I think we will just have to defend and go through on the away goal because they are probably the best team that we have faced this year and I am not sure we can beat them if they play their strongest squad.

            Upcoming fixtures:
            Juventus (H) - TIM Cup Semi-Final
            Fiorentina (H) - League Match
CSKA Moskva (A) - Europa League Round of 16
            Cesena (H) - League Match
            Sampdoria (A) - League Match
CSKA Moskva (H) - Europa League Round of 16
            Napoli (A) - League Match

I don't know whats wrong with the table I couldn't get it to be the same size.

I think it would be unfair if someone didn't comment on another's post because he didn't comment first. There are often many things happening in our lives, for example exams or just being at work. Anyway, you had a very good month apart from the BVB game. I'm glad to see that my boys from Berlin were able to draw with you :P But man, there were a lot of goals in that update. I'm also happy to see that Choupo-Moting is doing well for you because he was amazing for me at Verona. Also, it's Eric with a 'c', not a 'k' :P

Everyone else: I'll try to comment on your careers tomorrow.

Good results there but you need to pick up because me and Regens are both on top of the league. You don't wanna go into January with the last choices. Gutted you beat our team, especially thanks to Xhaka missing his penalty.

Also, you called yourself Werder Bremen in the Dortmund game :P

I'm actually no longer on top of the league, Frankfurt is having an amazing season. My November update will be out soon, but as for you both picked up good results, good to see that Dortmund could hold back some points from Cruzerr. As for you, Jamie, it is good to also see Hannover holding back points from you, although in all, it is a very good result in a 1-1 draw against Bayern, especially considering you held a 1-0 lead for half an hour. Gabbiadini looks to be an absolutely amazing signing for you, just keeps putting in goals. My update will be out soon.

How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

                      November 2017 - Season 4
                      FIFA 15 (PS4)

                      CA Osasuna 0 - 0 Valencia CF
Los Rojillos come from a painful defeat in England against Manchester City and now gave another disappointing performance after being unable to break the net against Valencia. It was a match with very little in attack on both fronts, with no player truly standing out more than the rest. The Man of The Match was given to Valencia's goalkeeper Alves who only made 4 saves in the match. That should be enough to tell you how poor this match was in attack. A lot of passing, not many shots. A good game to cure insomnia.

                      RCD Espanyol 2 - 3 CA Osasuna (B-Team)
                      ESP: Carmona 25' Tejera 85'
                      OSA: Alonso 29' Davila 61' Oier 90'
The Catalans tend to give Osasuna a tough time on the field and they did so again, effectively shutting down Ulises Davila who's been the B-Team's danger man since signing on last season. Espanyol were holding Osasuna's 4-1-4-1 back too much so Chavez decided to change to a 4-2-3-1 with Martinez at CAM, but soon after making the change Espanyol took the lead. A cross came in from Osasuna's left flank and although nobody was able to get their head to it, Carmona brought it down with his foot and then volleyed it past Rodriguez. The Basques reacted just four minutes later though with Davila shielding the ball at the edge of the box and then sending a through ball down the middle as Marcos Alonso made an inside run from the left. Alonso received the ball, and although he didn't have an angle to shoot with his left he used his weak foot and put the ball past the goalkeeper as he was rushing in!

Espanyol were doing a wonderful job at closing down Davila, but they weren't able to prevent him from setting up a goal for his teammate. The first half would end with the equal score line but in the 61st minute Davila would show off again, only this time by scoring the goal himself. Miguel Olavide, making his first B-Team start replacing Oier in midfield, drifted wide to the right and put a cross into the box. Davila may not have much aerial presence but he used his great attack positioning to beat his markers and head the ball over the goalkeeper who had come out to try and intercept the cross.

2-1 for Osasuna and things were going well for the Basques. Five minutes before the end of the match a free kick was called against Osasuna at the edge of their box, and emotions ran high. Rodriguez, who may be a fine goalkeeper during open play, has struggled with free kicks and Espanyol knew it. Tejera sent the ball over the wall and it curved into the net, with Rodriguez making an attempt to save it but not in time. With only five minutes left to play it looked like Osasuna would be getting their second draw in a row, but they still pushed forward looking for the win. Espanyol also wanted the win though, motivated by their late equalizer, and they too pushed forward. During a Catalan attack Pedro Bigas, making an appearance as a defensive midfielder in the second half, executed a perfect slide tackle and won the ball back in his defensive third. He then passed the ball over to Oier who began to dribble forward. Oier's teammates weren't able to get into space for a pass so Oier continued to dribble all the way until reaching the edge of the box and since Espanyol's defenders were closing down his teammates nobody was left marking him. With no other option, Oier took a left footed shot as soon as he entered the box, and the shot went low and into the bottom left corner. Osasuna had taken the lead!!

Los Rojillos really suffered in the final stages of the match, but in the end they earned the three points that gives them life on the league table.

                      CA Osasuna 0 - 0 Real Sociedad
A second scoreless draw for Osasuna this month, but this match wasn't the same as the one against Valencia. In this match Osasuna looked much better as a team overall, and they created several scoring chances throughout the match. However Sociedad's goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli was at the top of his game tonight, receiving the MOTM award with 10 saves to his name. Scoreless draws between Sociedad and Osasuna are common, although Osasuna truly deserved more tonight.

                      Champions League - Group Stage
                      Napoli vs CA Osasuna (B-Team)
An extremely vital visit for Osasuna, with this match being the first of a multi-step operation in order for them to qualify to the next round. Osasuna NEED a win tonight, no ifs ands or buts. A win won't guarantee anything though, as the win needs to be paired with Borussia Mönchengladbach not winning against Manchester City. If Osasuna defeat Napoli but Borussia defeat City, then it is all over for Osasuna. If, however, Borussia lose or tie against City and Osasuna defeat Napoli, then Borussia and Osasuna will go face to face in the next UCL fixture for the last ticket to the knockout stage. Napoli have no chance of advancing anymore, having 0 points after 4 matches, and Osasuna completely dominated them in their first match with a 3-0 score line at El Sadar. Because of this, Chavez decided to send his B-Team to the field so that the First Team could focus on turning their league play around. This decision, would be a costly one. At halftime, Mönchengladbach were defeating City 1-0.

                      INJURY NEWS
Sergi Gomez will be out for 3 weeks with a Sprained Ankle that was suffered during the match against Napoli. This is good news for Pedro Bigas, who is unhappy with his game time this season and has demanded a transfer in January.

                      Hiatus at Osasuna
After the match against Napoli, I took a break from this career. That match had me going crazy, and I honestly thought I was out. I had no clue City had equalized until the fixtures came up after the game. However after this game I got a new phone and I struggled to get my match photos from my old phone to my new phone. In the meantime I started a Guadalajara career where a found a new formation: the 4-3-3 Attack. It worked wonders with Guadalajara after I began using it, and it would be a perfect fit for Osasuna as I have similar players. A week later I returned to Osasuna, but decided to stay true to the 4-1-3-2 and instead keep the 4-3-3 Attack on hold until the 4-1-3-2 stops working.

                      Athletic Bilbao 0 - 2 CA Osasuna
                      OSA: Palacios 3' Guillermo 86'
Three minutes is all it took for Osasuna to take the lead. Bilbao hadn't even touched the ball yet when Jose Campaña had put in a dangerous through ball as Palacios sprinted down the box's line and it left Palacios one on one with the Basque goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Palacios took his shot with his inside left foot and the ball went in between Kepa's legs and into the net.

Surprisingly, Osasuna were holding possession well despite Bilbao having greater numbers in midfield with their 4-3-3. Everything was going really well for Osasuna until the referee called a penalty in favor of Bilbao. Freddy Montero, Bilbao's starting striker, stepped up to take the penalty in front of the home fans. He aimed for the right side of the net, but Riesgo read it perfectly and saved it!!

Riesgo has been a beast on his line during penalty kicks, and today was no exception. He wasn't only vital during that penalty though, he was a wall the entire match making a total of 11 saves in the ninety minutes. Bilbao had pushed forward with everything they had looking for the equalizer and if it weren't for Riesgo they would have achieved it. Bilbao's focus on attack left them vulnerable to a counter attack by Osasuna in the 86th minute which resulted in a goal for the away side. Roberto Torres received a long ball and volleyed it to Guillermo with a lobbed pass. Guillermo brought it down perfectly with his chest and then put it in the back of the net with his outside toes, securing the victory.

Riesgo received the MOTM award and Osasuna played really well overall, but their two centre backs are the only exception. Ignasi Miquel and Raul Albentosa had a terrible match, both with a rating under 6.0, which is why Osasuna depended on Riesgo so much.

Copa Del Rey - Round of 32 (1st Leg)
                      CA Osasuna (B-Team) 3 - 1 UE Llagostera
                      LLA: Rico 12'
                      OSA: Luque 45' Kodro 78' Luque 85'
Osasuna and Llagostera haven't faced each other since Chavez's first season with Osasuna in the Liga Adelante. Since then, these teams haven't been on the same field anymore. Osasuna achieved their best Copa Del Rey run that season, reaching the final where they lost against Real Madrid, and since then they've been disappointing in the domestic cup. It looked like we would see yet another disappointment tonight as Llagostera's Rico scored the first goal at barely the 12th minute of the match through a rebound. Jose Antonio Rodriguez had made 3 spectacular saves, resulting in three consecutive corners, but without the support of his teammates he wasn't able to save the rebound. Llagostera were also controlling possession though, which forced Chavez to change from the 4-1-4-1 formation to a 4-2-3-1 featuring Luis Martinez at CAM, and we immediately noticed a difference. This is the formation the B-Team should be running with youth graduate Martinez as the number 10. This kid needs to be near the box at all times Chavez cannot keep wasting his talent deeper in midfield. Osasuna were completely on top now, and right before the halftime whistle they finally equalized with Julian Luque receiving a pass from Vinuesa Ramos and then putting in a perfect low shot that sneaked into the bottom corner.

The match went on with the 1-1 scoreline for the majority of the second half, with both teams threatening to score again. Osasuna's left midfielder Marcos Alonso was repeatedly putting crosses into the box, but most were wasted due to Davila's low stature. Realizing that his team were finding many spaces down the wings, Chavez subbed in Kenan Kodro to add some aerial presence in the box. The substitution paid off well with Marcos Alonso sending in his 6th cross of the match in the 78th minute and finding none other than Kodro who easily powered the ball into the net with his head.

Llagostera went all out attack looking for the equalizer and an extra away goal with one of their centre backs going forward to play as a striker. This left them vulnerable to counter attacks though, and Osasuna finished them off with a third goal in the 85th minute. Oier drifted wide to the left and then cross the ball into the box to find Julian Luque who had the space to comfortably head the ball in and complete his brace.

There are still 90 minutes left to play but it'll be difficult for Llagostera to come back from this result. They have an away goal in their favor though, which means a lot in these competitions.

CA Osasuna Player of The Month

                      LB - Marcos Alonso (Spain) (71 OVR 26yrs) (+1) (B-Team)
Alonso has played primarily as a LB with Osasuna, earning a spot in the starting eleven during his first season but then being dropped to the B-Team in Season 2. He's a loyal player though, hardly ever giving the coaching staff any problems, and he's been showing off his skill even more now that he's being played at LM. He had a great month, scoring a goal against Espanyol, assisting a goal against Llagostera, but most importantly always finding space to cross the ball. He attacks well and always remembers to drop back to help his teammates at the back. Even though his potential is currently 76 OVR in the most recent squad update, his potential when I started this career is 71 OVR so he has hit his peak. Still a great player to have in the squad though. I do not plan to replace him just yet.

                      November Headlines

                      UEFA Champions League
The Champions League group stage is more exciting than ever, with Group H still having one last ticket up for grabs. Borussia Mönchengladbach had their chance to secure a 2nd place finish but they drew against Manchester City and are now in danger of being eliminated from the Champions League. Osasuna, playing their first ever Champions League in history, will go head to head with Mönchengladbach and the winner will go through. Osasuna NEED to win though. A defeat or even a tie will put M'gladbach through to the next round and Osasuna will be dropped to the Europa League to defend their title. A victory for the Spaniards would leave them tied with the Germans at 10 points each, but since both currently have a +2 goal difference any victory would put them ahead on goal difference. M'gladbach have already defeated Osasuna once early in the group stage with a 2-1 margin, so they'll be hoping to repeat that. Right from the starting whistle it will be a race against time for Osasuna with no going back for Los Rojillos.

                      Rodriguez Picks Up Again
After a series of less than decent performances with his club, Jose Antonio Rodriguez was removed from the Mexico squad and was not called up for international friendlies anymore. Chavez's intentions were to help Rodriguez focus on his club duties and regroup so he may find his form again. It seems that time off from international travel was exactly what Rodriguez needed as the 24 year old has returned to making important saves for Osasuna that save the B-Team's shaky defense time and time again. Rodriguez's plans to go to a World Cup are back on track, even though the spot for 3rd goalkeeper is also fought for by Jose de Jesus Corona (75 OVR), who hasn't made an appearance under Chavez but is expected to play in at least one of the remaining Mexico friendlies.

                      Conclusion
I took a week off from Osasuna, but I'm back now! In that week I started a career with Guadalajara that I extremely enjoyed. Short update on that I struggled to find a formation in the beginning, but when I began using a 4-3-3 Attack we began to demolish our opponents and finished at the top of the table with a 1 point difference and were the best attack with 42 goals as well as tied for best defense with 13 goals against. We reached the league semifinal where I was scheduled to face Tigres, one of my most difficult opponents during the league. If I was able to beat Tigres in the two legs, everything seemed to point at a Guadalajara vs Atlas final (the Guadalajara local derby and the first time in history the two teams face each other in the final). Before starting the semifinal matches I went back to Osasuna, and while playing Osasuna I accidentally overwrote my Guadalajara save with Osasuna. All the auto save backups were already Osasuna at this point, so the Guadalajara career was now completely gone. I stared at the screen for a while knowing I had just f***ed up and my days playing with Guadalajara were now a complete waste. I would really like to start that career again but everything was so perfect that I'm hesitant to restart it.

Some takeaways I grabbed from that career include the 4-3-3 Attack formation, which worked wonderfully with Guadalajara. I have similar players at Osasuna, so it could work perfectly over here too, but for now I'm going to keep running the 4-1-3-2. I'll probably just save the 4-3-3 Attack as an option for when we're playing bad. Just one more month left and then we start the transfer window. I only have one target in mind, and that is an attacking left back. Maybe Keko too since Tex has just released him, but I think I need to do some scouting on similar players first.

That's all for this month! Hope you enjoyed it and
                      Thanks For Reading!

                        The Return

Yeah so in light of Wycombe losing out on promotion to League 1 in the playoff final today, after conceding an extra time 120 +2 minute equalizer and then losing 7-6 on penalties to Southend, I have decided to do another career with them. Some of you may remember that it was my first career here on this forum back on '14. I'm going to be focusing on the academy so there won't be many signings except mainly for depth which I don't need very much of. More to come tomorrow! Forest with be run side by side BTW.

@Jamie: M'gladbach, Good month although maybe you should have gotten more than a point against Hannover. A point against Bayern is great though and good going on being top of the table.

Brentford, unbeaten month, which in the Championship is a great a achievement. I counted three 1-0's so that shows you can grind out results and that your defence is solid. You did beat Forest though! . You are starting to stretch your lead at the top now too.

@Simp: Solid month in both league and European play. Great job to knock out Atletico and no doubt you will be able to beat Marseille in the second leg. As you said the league is only a matter of time now.

@sportsfreak: Nice looking team you have put together! How's the bench?

A lot of goals this month! Choupo-Moting and Draxler were a big reason for that and are in incredible form. Shame that Dortmund bear you but toy are only three points off then in first!

@Blue Eagle: 5 wins and then a draw from six league games is impressive. I know you said that if you hadn't had that draw you would have been top but there's still time. Good luck against Juve again next month after that draw and also against CSKA after soundly beating Lokomotiv in the second leg.

@Chico: A couple of bore 0-0s but you did have some exciting games too. Namely that last gasp winner against Espanyol and the nail biting game against Napoli. The 2-0 derby win at Bilbao was good for confidence as was the beating of Llagostera. Good to see Alonso having somewhat of a revival on the left wing. BTW, he could outgrow his potential! Martínez also seems like quite the player in the CAM role judging from your match recaps. 4th and within 2 points of first place is very good progress this month. Good luck against M'gladbach next month!

@BlueEagle - I like how you have your objectives in every post, nice touch. A lot of reds in the games. The fight in the top looks intense, hope you do well against Fiorentina and Napoli in the league and in the cup games!

@Simppu - Cheers lad, TIL how to write Eric right . Berlin scored the goal of the season so far against me, van der Bergh crossed the ball yet it ended going in!

@Jamie - Cheers lad, fixed the mistake now. The game itself was pretty intense, I must add.

@Regens - Dortmund is really strong in my CM. They brought in Lloris and he is so annoying to play against.

@Jamie&Regens - I know you have a slight edge over me, yet I think I have played most of my tougher fixtures. Also, gonna make a list on who you can't buy and who you guys sold and are available for purchase. When I get on a comp.

@Chico - Great month, I mean, the win against Napoli, the Bilbao game, what a save, what a win. I have personally tried the 4-3-3 attacking a lot aswell with teams like Ajax, and while I can't fit it into Schalke nor Burnley atm, it is a really good formation. Yet you are doing well atm, so keep at it!

@Keano - The return of Wycombe! Not much to add atm, just good luck!

                              Burnley post coming today!

                                Ha Ho He

                                May 2018

                                Borussia Mönchengladbach 0 - 2 Hertha BSC
                                Draxler 33', Bellarabi 80'

Usually Mönchengladbach cause us lots of trouble but that wasn't really the case today. Draxler scored his first goal in ages right after the half an hour mark and ten minutes later Borussia's Raffael missed a penalty (finally he didn't score against me!). The remaining game was a bit dull but in the 80th minute Bellarabi doubled our lead with a powerful shot to the top left corner from the right.

                                Quarter Final, 2nd Leg
                                Hertha BSC (2) 2 - 0 (0) Olympique Marseille
                                Kalou 46', 75'

The second leg of our quarter final wasn't that exciting but at least we managed to defeat Marseille. They had only two shots in the whole game and their own defenders cost them the game. Kalou intercepted a poor pass and slotted the ball past Mandanda right from second's half kick off. Half an hour later he finished a brace from a counter attack to put us through to the next round! We will face one of the best teams on the planet, Real Madrid, next.

                                Semi Final
                                Hertha BSC 1 - 0 VfL Wolfsburg
                                Kalou 73' pen

We have reached the DFB Pokal final! Just like our last two games of the month this was also a surprisingly dull game as both teams were looking for a minimal amount of mistakes. At the end Salomon Kalou got tackled inside the box which resulted in a penalty and the striker calmly shot it into the net. Our opponent in the final will be the mighty Bayern München. Also, Maximilian Arnold sprained his ankle and he'll be out for three weeks.

                                Semi Final, 1st Leg
                                Hertha BSC 1 - 2 Real Madrid
                                Son 45'
                                James Rodriguez 31', Lewandowski 78'

I'm slightly disappointed about this result because we really shouldn't have lost this game. Our defending was poor and we failed to score from several attempts. Real got into the lead in the first half an hour as James Rodriguez scored from a parried shot with a powerful half-volley. Fifteen minutes later our Korean winger Heung-Min Son equalised after a nice run and a through ball. The game stayed like that until the 78th minute when Robert Lewandowski scored from a rebounded shot. It didn't end there as Diego Benaglio picked a red card in stoppage time and we had to put Naldo in goal for a free kick and a corner kick. The second leg will be very tough as it's at the Bernabeu and they have two away goals.

                                Hertha BSC 1 - 0 1899 Hoffenheim
                                Werner 45'

Boring, just boring. Our secondary team wasn't able to create too many chances and the only goal of the game came when Adrian Ramos missed a cross. The ball fell to Timo Werner who just tapped the ball past Baumann in goal.

                                Semi Final, 2nd Leg
                                Real Madrid - Hertha BSC

Two teams, one game, one target: the Champions League final. Real Madrid had an advantage coming into this game as they scored two away goals in the first leg but Hertha were going to fight till the last minute. The Berliners needed to score at least two goals and one goal more than RM. Both teams fielded their best players (apart from Hertha's Benaglio who was suspended). Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Robert Lewandowski and others were ready to face Salomon Kalou, Hakan Calhanoglu and Karim Bellarabi. The Whites had better players but passion is more important than money. The game is not played on paper.

And the game started. Simon Müller's message was clear: score two quick goals. His team was attacking from the first minute but Real Madrid defended well. Then, in the 24th minute, Leon Goretzka got into the box. Sergio Ramos tapped his ankle, Goretzka went down... and a penalty was called! On top of that Ramos got sent off. It was Salomon Kalou's time to shine and to bring his team closer to the final. He stepped up behind the ball, decided to shoot the ball to the bottom left corner, took the shot, Casillas dived to the right... and the ball went in! Hertha were back in the game after just twenty-four minutes! One more goal and they were in the final! A few minutes later Karim Bellarabi cut in from the right wing into the box. He passed the ball to Kalou in the middle who then took the ball around the sliding Pepe. Kalou saw some space at the back post and he took a curling shot and the ball found its way into the net! Hertha were leading one of the best teams in the world and they were going through to the final! Only eight minutes later James played the ball to Ronaldo inside the box and the attacker shot the ball past Kapino into the net... but the goal was ruled as offside! The Berliners then pulled everyone back and they started to defend their lead. In the 83rd minute Max Meyer was played through on goal from a counter and the youngster scored the third of the night to make sure that RM weren't getting back into the game! It was done! Hertha had beaten Real Madrid and they were going to the final! They will face Bayern München in the Champions League final.

                                FC Augsburg 0 - 2 Hertha BSC
                                Goretzka 12', Ramos 17'

                                Simulated.

                                Player of the Month

                                Salomon Kalou

Salomon Kalou has found his top form again during the second half of the season and he'll be the Player of the Month for the third time in a row. This time the main danger man scored five goals in April and he almost single-handedly dragged his team into the Champions League final and into the DFB Pokal final.

                                My Thoughts

What. A. Month. I won't comment the league games because they weren't important at all but my God what a performance in the Champions League against Real Madrid. I was very pessimistic going into the second leg but we had an amazing game. We also did well to progress to the DFB Pokal final. It's interesting that we'll face Bayern in both finals. Next month we also have a league game against Kaiserslautern.

Also, here's the poll I mentioned in the last update. I'll appreciate it if you take your time and vote. The teams are all pretty good because I won't have time to do a road to glory career.
