TauterHat's first press conference as manager of 1860 Munich

TauterHat - Before we start, I'd just like to say a few things. Firstly, it is an honour to manage this great club. I intend to bring this club from the ashes of it's previously glory and propel it back to the top of Germany. I believe this club to have the foundations and infrastructure of a club built for the top; a sensational stadium, a brilliant training set up and an extraordinary group of fans who are unlike any I have encountered in previous jobs. I am looking forward to serving this club, and I hope for this relationship to be a long and fruitful one. With that being said, I open myself up to your questions.

How do you intend to, as you said, "bring this club from ashes of it's previously glory"

As I said, this club has excellent infrastructure. Whilst some changes are needed, the core of this squad is outstanding. Young, skillful and hungry for glory. They posses all the attributes I feel necessary to accomplish much at this club and I believe I am the man to help them with this

Which changes do you feel are necessary in order to achieve what you want to achieve at this club

That's difficult to say at the moment. As I'm sure you are all aware, If I come out and say we want to buy this guy and this guy then market prices will soar. With that being said, of course I feel there are areas which need strengthening. Another winger is necessary and our full-back department needs reinforcing as well. Whilst we have out targets, I will not be naming anyone.

If you are looking at a full-back, then will Joe Bryan be a target

Joe is a fantastic player and of course we have been looking at him. However, at the moment we are looking into other players and of course nothing is set in stone.

Before you were employed, the former Barcelona attacker Rodri was signed. What are your plans for him

Rodri is a talented player with a long and promising career ahead of him. However, he will need to prove he has what it takes to be a 1st division attacker. If he can do this he will of course lead out line for years to come.

You have previous experience at some large clubs like Burnley and Cardiff but have never worked as the boss. Do you think this will hinder your progress at this club

No, not at all. Every manager has to start somewhere and I have been lucky enough to work at this club. I have also been lucky enough to have experienced a number of jobs in the world of football from coach, to performance analyst and many others. I believe this gives me a unique insight into football and will help be manage in a different way to many others before me. I like to think I am different, and I have a different view on the world of football

You have a busy pre-season, flying from Australia to Belgium with Ireland in between. What are you hoping to achieve from this

Simply, to increase fitness levels. We have a busy season this year and fatigue will set in eventually. By having this pre-season, I am hoping to increase these fitness levels and make sure that when the later stages of the season comes, we will be more competitive than our rivals. However, I am also hoping that by doing this we can learn to play in more difficult conditions. Australia will be hot and Ireland will be pretty cold. Hopefully this can allow us to cope, and play well in difficult conditions

Many fans have been calling for a manager to step up and finally reach the level your city rivals, Bayern, are at. Do you believe you are the man to do that

At the risk of sounding arrogant, I have complete faith in myself. I hope the board back me, and I believe I can win the fans around with results. Whilst matching the heights of Bayern will be difficult, I believe it will give us a target to achieve. With the right spending, the right coaching and some luck, I really do believe this can become the next great German football club. With that being said, I need to go and prepare for the season. Thank you for your time.

    Perth Glory 1 - 2 1860 Munich
    Thwaite (18)
    Adlung (48)
    Rama (49)

A relatively solid performance from 1860. Perth scored first with a corner, Twaite rising the highest of everyone in the box to nod past Ortega. After a rollicking at half time, a completely different 1860 side came out onto the field. Daniel Adlung, the young attacking midfielder, stormed between the two Australian centre backs and won a free-kick. He stepped over it and curled the ball around the wall and into the bottom left corner. A minute later, Adlung rushed down the wing and drilled in the ball. The defenders left the ball and Rama snuck in at the back post to tap in.
    MOTM - Daniel Adlung - 8.8/10

    Dundalk 1 - 0 1860 Munich
    Shields (87)

A completely rotated squad completely crumbled in a rain affected match. The match was relatively boring until late on when 1860 failed to clear a relatively poor corner. The ball fell to Chris Shields on the edge of the box who rounded the onrushing Anthony Annan and slotted past Stefan Ortega to grab a winner late on. Overall just a very poor performance and a match to be forgotten.
    MOTM - Chris Shields - 7.6/10

1860 open transfer kitty to sign Hany Mukhtar and Joe Bryan
In an interesting turn of events, 1860 Munich have announced the signing of Hany Mukhtar and Joe Bryan. It is reported that both join on 4 year contracts worth £6,000 a week with Bryan joining for a fee of £1,200,000 and Mukhtar, 1,000,000. TauterHat has been a long term admirer of both players and only now does he have the money to make them his players. In a press-conference late last night, TauterHat said "I am delighted to sign these two players. I have admired both for many years and so I'm sure you can imagine how excited I am to have them playing for my side. Joe brings pace to the table, combined with brilliant attacking vision and aggressive yet cautious defending. Hany is one of the most techically gifted young players I have ever seen and I hope to improve his physical abilty so he really can become the next great attacking midfielder. Thank you". With that being said, we look forward to seeing if 1860 make any further additions to this squad, before the start of the season.

    Lierse SK 0 - 3 1860 Munich
    Annan (24)
    Adlung (56)
    Rodri (88)

A complete performance from start to finish. Annan opened up the scoring with a brilliant, Yaya Toure-esque goal. He broke through the midfield, played a one-two with Adlung before switching the play out to Bryan. Bryan scampered down the wing before cutting the ball back to Annan who took a touch and rifled past the Lierse keeper. Following this, Daniel Adlung got in on the act with another brilliant free-kick this time from 30 yards. Drilling it past the wall, Adlung outwitted the Lierse keeper sending him the wrong way, making the score 2-0. Finally Rodri scored a tap in from 1 yard. Joe Bryan again the provider with a teasing ball across the face of goal. Rodri made no mistake.
    MOTM - Joe Bryan - 9.2

Three more signings follows as 1860 continue to strengthen

Joshua King, Jamal Bajandou and Wallace Oliveira dos Santos have become the latest recruits as 1860 Munich have continued to build the squad they feel will take them back to the Bundesliga. King has joined on a deal worth £7,000 a week whilst Bajandou and Wallace both on 4 year contracts worth £9,000. The Wallace deal came as a huge shock to both fans and the media alike with the fee estimated at £600,000 with Yannick Stark venturing the other way. Bajandou and King were both estimated to be signed for fees ranging between £800,000 and £1,000,000. TauterHat said this regarding the transfers - "Once again, I am delighted to announce the signings of these extremely talented young footballers. Josh is already known for his pace and skill but I look forward to unearthing other technical attributes he possesses. Jamal has controlled midfield's in the Saudi league for years now and I really look forward to seeing what this boy can do in our league. It will be a step-up for him but I believe him to have all the necessary abilities needed to really succeed not just in this division, or indeed the whole of Germany, but in Europe and the world. Finally, Wallace has also shown his real skill in English youth leagues and the Dutch league. He possesses physical and technical skill in abundance and I look forward to seeing him grow into the full-back I know he can become. The 1860 Board and I believe these players are finishing touches to turning this squad into a real contender for the title of this division this year. Thank you for your time".

Hopefully this post lives up to any expectations you might have. Any feedback would be highly appreciated (especially about the layout, I feel it is a little congested at the moment). I am already really loving this career mode. I will be updating daily and I am looking forward to continuing this career mode.
Only in pre season, and I already love this career mode. Hoping you have a bright future with this club, and hope to see you soon in the Bundesliga with the mighty Leverkusen!!

I'm also going to see if I can find any sliders for 4-6 minute halves and if not, I'll see if I can make my own.

As you both said, thanks for understanding it's also just a personal preference.
I know this whole slider thing was porbably weeks ago now, but I also prefer to play shorter games, and have recentyl gone to 4 mins. However, like the others, I much prefer a realisitc feel to how the game plays, and I personally feel the normal sliders make the gameplay flawed. What I've done, is dramatically increased the CPU stats.

If you up their sprint speed and acceleration to about 55ish, then you'll find the chip through balls aren't nearly as effective, however if you isolate the full backs with quick wingers then you still have a realistic advantage. Because of the this, pace on your striker isn't a necessity or a huge advantage, and has certainly allowed me to get the best out of a wide variety of players. Furthemore, by upping their pace, your midfield becomes focused around good passing (I have upped mine to about 55) thus further increasing realism of your games.

You also find that a lot of your games are closer, and that the only way you win by the higher scorelines, or indeed against the bigger teams is by genuinely playing well, so there is the reward that manual brings without playing on manual. I actually prefer losing games sometimes because it is rare that I manage the best clubs, so I should never be going all season without losing which sometimes happened on normal sliders.

As I said I know this happened a while ago but if you are still searching for a slider set then I think this may be able to help you

Nice signings and not bad results! The Dundalk result I was surprised at but then you did have a fully rotated team. It's great to hear that you're enjoying your career just as much as we are! I expect great things to come!

Thank you! In fact, the conversation only happened a couple of days ago. Is it possible if you could post the whole slider set along with difficulty and I'll try it out and see how it plays?

How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

                  February 2018 - Season 4
                  FIFA 15 (PS4)

                  CA Osasuna 1 - 0 Getafe
                  OSA: Darder 68'
Osasuna repeated the 4-4-2 Holding formation like in the last match against Barcelona and they saw similar results again. Good defending, good attack, but just unable to beat the goalkeeper despite taking many shots on goal. In the second half Chavez was forced to take out Federico Palacios due to injury and Ulises Davila came on to replace him, which also forced a formation change to a 4-2-3-1 with Davila at CAM. Davila showed his class in the 68th minute where he passed the ball to Sergi Darder who was stepping into the box, and Darder took a powerful shot with his right foot to finally beat the keeper and take the lead.

Osasuna kept control of the match even after the goal, and the lead was secured without further issues.

                  INJURY NEWS
Federico Palacios will be out for 3 weeks with a Sprained Ankle. Will miss Champions League fixture against Chelsea. Terrible news for the striker who will miss the next few weeks when Davila has been on his tail recently and is frequently making claims for a starting position with his performances.

                  CA Osasuna (B-Team) 1 - 0 Athletic Bilbao
                  OSA: Kodro 7'
                  OSA: Martinez RED CARD 75'
With the Champions League fixture just a couple days away Chavez had to send out his B-Team for the Basque Derby. Ulises Davila did not start and was replaced by Kenan Kodro, which leads us to believe that Davila will be starting against his former team Chelsea. Sisi also started with the B-Team seeing as Grimaldo has taken the LB position with the First Team. Just seven minutes into the match, Sisi dribbled past Bilbao's LB Balenziaga and crossed the ball into the box, where the target man Kodro was able to just take a small hop and head the ball past Kepa Arrizabalaga. Osasuna had taken the lead in the Basque derby!

Despite the early goal the match was very balanced, and Osasuna struggled to create much danger. With Ulises Davila gone Luis Martinez was expected to be the main man in attack but he was completely neutralized by Bilbao's midfield. The young playmaker even lost his head in the 75th minute after Bilbao's De Marcos stole the ball from him. De Marcos had tackled the ball away and Martinez came back to hit him from behind with a slide tackle, earning himself a direct red card.

Osasuna changed to a 4-1-4-1 formation with no LM due to Martinez's red card, but even with the extra man Bilbao weren't able to get through. Marcos Alonso was left as the only man on the left wing, expected to play the role of both a LB and a LM, but since he was accustomed to playing in a 3 at the back formation with his former club Fiorentina he had no problems fulfilling the role. Bilbao weren't able to use their extra man advantage so in the end Osasuna took the three points and are now beginning to turn some heads in the top part of the league table.

Champions League - Round of 16 (1st Leg)
                  CA Osasuna 1 - 1 Chelsea FC
                  CHE: Hamsik 45'
                  OSA: Guillermo 64'
Chavez fielded the same eleven that played the second leg against Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey; a 4-2-3-1 with Davila at CAM and Guillermo at ST. Osasuna controlled possession comfortably in the first half with Davila being the center of every play. There weren't many shots from either team, but the little shots that there were put goalkeepers Courtois and Rodriguez to the test making it known very early on that we had two solid keepers on the field. The referee was about to blow the halftime whistle when a promising attack from Chelsea made him put the whistle back down. Hazard had dribbled into the box from the left, cut in to his right foot, took a shot to the far post but Rodriguez stretched and saved it sending it to the far right wing. Willian picked it up and sent a dangerous low cross into the box looking for the feet of any teammate. Albentosa got to the cross first and tried to clear it but his clearance hit Karim Benzema in the chest and when it came back down Benzema volleyed it towards goal but Rodriguez saved it again! The loose ball bounced inside the box and Ignasi Miquel got to it first trying to clear it but his clearance deflected off Hazard, landed on Hamsik's feet and Hamsik powered it into the net finally beating the goalkeeper Rodriguez who had made two wonderful saves. While Chelsea celebrated Osasuna's defenders stood in awe trying to figure out what in the world just happened. How were they not able to clear it?! The match went to halftime right after the goal with Chelsea having the partial lead. For the second half Osasuna came out with the same players but in a 4-3-3 Attack pushing the lines forward. The formation gave Osasuna a more attack minded approach to the match and this allowed Thibaut Courtois to show his class more often. It was still really difficult for Osasuna to get through Chelsea's highly esteemed defense until the 64th minute when Guillermo put his team on his shoulder again. He received a pass from Davila near the box and took his marker head on. With a fabulous display of his individual skill, Guillermo ended up sprinting into the box with his marker chasing him, and he put in a powerful shot that seemed to be going wide but it hit the post and bounced into the net!

Courtois had been saving every shot on target so it took a shot to the woodwork to finally beat him. The match went on with both sides looking for the win and neither looking better than the other. Chelsea's Oscar had the winner in the 87th minute when Rodriguez made a save and sent the ball flying into the air. The ball came down to an unmarked Oscar who was a little ahead of the penalty spot. Oscar jumped up to try and head it into the wide open net but he sent it over the crossbar!! The entire stadium sighed in relief knowing that Oscar could have not only taken the lead for Chelsea, but also grabbed a vital away goal. Jose Antonio Rodriguez was given the MOTM award after making a total of 7 saves in the ninety minutes.

                  Real Sociedad 0 - 1 CA Osasuna
                  OSA: Guillermo 62'
For the first time in at least two years a Sociedad-Osasuna match has not ended 0-0. An Osasuna player was finally able to break the long standing stalemate and it was none other than Basque Country's own Guillermo. As usual, Geronimo Rulli was having an outstanding match in goal for Sociedad making sure that his record of not receiving goals from Osasuna stood strong. On the other side of the field, much was said about Chavez continuing to start Rodriguez instead of Riesgo, who just like Rulli had not received a goal in a Sociedad-Osasuna match. Rodriguez held his own though, and played really well in an intense goalkeeper battle against his Argentinian counterpart. After seeing the scoreless board for sixty minutes of football, the fans received a huge surprise and finally saw a goal after the second half sub Oier sent Guillermo a long through ball from midfield and the Basque striker put in a powerful shot to the far post after stepping into the box. Rulli attempted to save it, but the ball was struck too well for even him to react.

The pressure was all on Rodriguez after the goal with many wondering if he would be able to continue Asier Riesgo's record of not receiving a goal from Sociedad after Rulli's record had just been halted. The Mexican goalkeeper showed why Chavez has put his faith in him though and he held on to his clean sheet for the rest of the match.

                  Deportivo La Coruña 0 - 2 CA Osasuna (B-Team)
                  OSA: Ivan 71' Gavan 89'
Chavez had a historic match on his hands today against his long standing colleague and friend Texasbum, who finds himself fighting for survival in La Liga. The reason this match was historic, was because if Osasuna won and took the three points, then for the first time in the club's history they would find themselves at the very top of the table this late in the season. Tex wasn't going to hand out any favors though, especially not with his team so close to relegation, and Deportivo really made things complicated for Osasuna. If they wanted to be first in the league they had to fight for it. In the 71st minute Osasuna were finally able to beat Deportivo's goalkeeper but it took a wonderfully placed shot from the RB Ivan to do it though. Ivan had received a pass from Luis Martinez on the left side of the box and without thinking twice about it Ivan took his shot with his left foot and watched as the ball soared into the top corner of the net!

Possibly Ivan's best goal in his entire career! Deportivo pushed forward in the final minutes of the match trying to get the draw but Chavez was confident enough to bring on and debut the youth graduate Alex Silva Gavan at RM. Gavan played a decent match, playing it safe and avoiding risky passes, but we were all amazed to see Kenan Kodro put him through on goal in the 89th minute and then seeing him strike the ball into the net with his left foot securing the three points for Osasuna!

*I forgot to edit Gavan after promoting him which is why he is wearing the #14 shirt. Youth graduates are usually given numbers in the 30s or 40s until they break into a more important role.

A goal on his professional debut what more could he ask for! Not only is this a fantastic start to his career but he's also scored an extremely important goal for Osasuna, as it secured the three points and put Los Rojillos at the very top of the table. Despite the defeat, Tex still met with Chavez after the match to shake hands and exchange a few words.

                  INJURY NEWS
Ivan will be out for 3 weeks with a Sprained Ankle suffered during the match against Real Sociedad. Oier (69 OVR CDM) is expected to take his place with the B-Team in the meantime.

                  CA Osasuna 2 - 0 Rayo Vallecano
OSA: Torres PEN 75' Guillermo 90'
After the match against Real Sociedad Osasuna became league leaders for the first time in their history, but now the real challenge begins as they fight to hang on to it. Rayo Vallecano was the first test, and boy did the Madrid side make them suffer. Osasuna had plenty chances to score but Vallecano's goalkeeper was on point. The referee made a game changing decision in the 75th minute by awarding Osasuna a penalty. After the goalkeeper made a save and left the ball loose in the box, Jose Campaña sprinted to reach it before the defender did as they were both running directly at each other with the ball in between. Campaña barely reached it first but did not take a shot, and instead moved the ball to the right. The defender did not make a tackle, but their bodies collided and Campaña hit the deck, which caused the referee to call the foul. Roberto Torres stepped up to take the penalty and powered the ball to the left while the keeper dove to the right. Osasuna were in the lead!

Vallecano wanted to return home with at least a point so they pushed forward in attack while at the same time keeping their defense intact. During their final attack, Osasuna's Alejandro Grimaldo tackled the ball away in his defensive half, and began to dribble towards the midfield line. Two Vallecano players came out to pressure him, but Grimaldo kept the ball close to his feet, dribbled towards them, cut left, and then knocked the ball forward right in between them and sprinted off! Grimaldo had just embarrassed his markers and was now sprinting down the left flank with nothing but grass in front of him. He reached Vallecano's box, forcing one of the center backs to come out to the flank, and as the centre back sprinted towards him he crossed the ball and found Guillermo who beat his marker in the air and headed the ball into the net!

Victory was inevitable now, and Osasuna have finished the month as league leaders for the first time in history!

                  GK - Jose Antonio Rodriguez (Mexico) (74 OVR 25yrs) (+1) (1st Team)
Rodriguez has played with the B-Team ever since signing for Osasuna in Chavez's second season with the club, and his performances with the Basque side even led him to the Mexican National Team. He's always been in excellent form, but it's been difficult for him to overthrow Osasuna's veteran goalkeeper Asier Riesgo until now. After Osasuna's 5-3 defeat to Real Madrid last month, Chavez gave Rodriguez the opportunity to show himself with the First Team and Rodriguez hasn't let go of the spot since. This month he was incredible between the sticks even against strong teams like Chelsea, and he may be returning to the Mexico National Team just in time for the upcoming World Cup.

                  February Headline

                  Davila Threatens Palacios' Game Time
Federico Palacios has been given a different role this season compared to last, encouraged to drift wide and hand the box over to Guillermo. Palacios is fast and agile, but is prone to losing the ball when tightly marked as he lacks technical skills. Chavez began to substitute him out during the second half at times and replaced him with Ulises Davila along with a formation change to 4-2-3-1. Davila has strived in that system, as he offers the skill and capability to not only support Guillermo up front, but also be the playmaker in midfield. Two distinct playing styles between Palacios and Davila, but the Mexican has definitely had the upper hand over the Spaniard lately as he can put his teammates in scoring positions or score the goals himself. Chavez has respected Palacios' hierarchy, but Palacios isn't making it any easier as he continues to struggle on the field unless he has the space to sprint.

                  Conclusion
Extremely excited about getting into first place! First time I, and the club, have been at the top of the Spanish first division ever. Last month we changed formation and returned to the 4-4-2 Holding and I've been happy with it so far.

Formation Talk: A few adjustments to the 4-4-2 formation compared to the last time I used it. Guillermo (LS) has the instruction to stay central and press back line while Palacios (RS) is left with no instructions. This is to keep Guillermo close to the box while Palacios is free to move as he wants. Before I would give Guillermo the target man instruction but I found that he works best without an instruction in that slot since he has a very balanced game. In midfield, Sergi Darder (LDM) is given the instruction to stay back and cut passing lanes, while Campaña was edited to play as a RCM instead of RDM. Similar to a 4-1-3-2 formation, but with the midfielders next to each other instead of stacked. Campaña has the instructions to get forward and stay at the edge of the box for crosses. I still want to experiment with that, since I noticed that sometimes Campaña would push so far forward he would become a striker and Palacios would end up dropping back to cover for him as RCM. I really disliked this so I might remove the get forward instruction. Everything else is left the same as when I used the 4-4-2 Holding in the past.

I am really tempted to go back to the 4-3-3 Holding formation I used in Seasons 1 and 2 so that I can really take advantage of Guillermo's goal scoring form as lone striker and also make the most of my midfield talent, but the team is playing so well that I'd rather not move things around for now. Next month I might throw in the 4-3-3 Holding after halftime during some matches and see how it works out. If I see improvement, we will switch to that. I plan on bringing Torres in from RM to LCM, and putting Palacios out to RW so that he can use his speed more often. As I mentioned in the headlines, he's been struggling lately especially when playing against top teams that defend well like Real Madrid and Chelsea.

I've put the youth academy on hold for now. We have too much youth with good potential and I don't want to end up with a youth academy entirely full of future world class players since there is no way that would happen in real life with any youth academy. I will continue to promote no more than 2 or 3 players per season.

That's all for this month! Next month we will travel to the Stamford Bridge for the 2nd leg of our Champions League fixture. For that match, I will start Ulises Davila instead of Palacios so that we can have a better link between our midfield and attacking players. I still haven't decided if I should start with a 4-2-3-1 or just go all out attack from the beginning with a 4-3-3 Attack. Wish me luck and
                  Thanks For Reading!

Congratualtions on reaching the summit in Spain!!! Hard graft paying off once again it seems. All in all some fantastic results, and although Chelsea may have the psychological advantage with that away goal, a draw against them isn't something to be sniffed at and I think you can turn them over at the Bridge!!

Grimaldo is also a nice signing, Sisi's replacement I take it? $14m is a big hefty but I guess you could've gotten him for $6-8m if you wanted. (Which I know you didn't.)

You rolled over Barca B in the cup before those two intense games with Real. Unfortunately you just couldn't have been that little bit more solid in the 1st leg. Props for not giving up though and I really thought the comeback was on and going to happen while I was reading. BTW I like the detail, as I've said before although 2 pics per game would be a good limit. League form was good, aside from the shock loss to Almeria. You took care of Valladolid and Malaga fairly well and a point against Barca is a good result, sucks that you could have gone joint top though with a win. How are Martinez' physical stats growing? Or is it just his technical & mental ones making his Ovr go up?
Get this: I loaned Nono out because he wasn't growing, and as soon as we rolled into the next month (February) he goes up by 1 on his overall. Four years later he finally shows some growth lol his overall went up because just 1 of his detailed stats went up by one. I can't remember which it was but I think it was one of his mental stats. You were correct, Grimaldo was Sisi's replacement! Sisi was great at LB but I want to see him more in an attacking role. That, and also because I feel like my defense isn't as solid as it should be because I do not have natural fullbacks in my starting eleven. Defending crosses can be frantic when I see either Sisi or Romeu the ones in the aerial challenge. I'll have to get back to you on Martinez. I think his physical stats have just started to grow by a little, but mostly it's been his technical and mental.

Then to the games. What a tie in the Copa del Rey, that was crazy! Shame about the offside goal, it must've felt terrible when it was ruled off. You should still be proud of youself. Allthough I am disappointed that Khedira scored against you. You also did okay in the league. The table is still very close and you have a good chance of winning the title. Good luck against Chelsea! Also, I don't really mind the length
I had my fist in the air already when the camera changed to show that the linesmen had his flag up. I couldn't believe it, but after seeing the replay I had nothing to argue. Campaña was indeed offside. Dude I swear to God that as soon as Khedira scored I knew you would say something about it haha I figured your comment would be something like "you deserve to lose if Khedira scores on you" haha.

Shame about Nono, he starts out as a really solid player and if he had grown he could have been a great player for you. Great job in the Copa del Rey against Barca! You didn't lose to them in either leg and controlled the entire match up. Losing to Almeria in between is almost not even noticeable because of the results around it. Real's attack ended up being just too much though in the next round. Grimaldo! A really good young player for you there. He could become a great long term player for you.

Indeed he was. I think most of it was because he came from Celta haha. He was just terrible though man and trust me I was patient with him. He's 6 feet tall, but I didn't notice he had bad jumping stats until I saw that winning an aerial battle with him was impossible. I would have held on to him but Bigas didn't deserve the bench time he was getting, there was no way Flaño was going to the reserves even though he has the lowest overall, and I knew Gomez would eventually start complaining about being in the reserves because of his high overall.

I noticed that during one of your Deportivo restarts you had signed Nono, and then in the restart after that you didn't anymore. Any particular reason you didn't go for him after that first time you signed him?

Welcome back man! Looking forward to a Leverkusen update. You have put together a nice squad and it's good to see that four seasons in Munich are still going hard. It's always good to have a challenge. Thanks for the kind words going into the Chelsea match! I wouldn't be so worried about it if it weren't Chelsea (calm down Indi) because I know it's going to be extremely difficult to get the ball into the net and they are always dangerous on the ball. They might be the most difficult team I've faced in this career right next to Real Madrid.

A couple reasons. First, I had bought him with funds used from selling Juan Dominguez who refused to sign a new contract, but ended up signing it in the restart. And second, because you already had him and I didn't realize you did the first time. That's not a complete deal breaker, but I like to mix things up as much as possible.

Thanks man! Yeah they even won the Champions league this past season, although prior to updating i did manage to sneak a cheeky 1-0 home win which was such an intense game. Chelsea are difficult to play against, but I generally find if you can score 1 then 2 and 3 aren't far behind! Also sorry about the scrolling. I'm still getting use to the whole layout issue as its been so long

                                Jamie

Managed to quickly get on this morning and here are my sliders

Firstly, 4 minute halves on Legendary

Keep all of your attributes the same (obviously I didn't turn my passing up)

CPU stats: (note some of these will appear very strange, but it just seems to work for me)

                                Sprint speed: 55
                                Acceleration: 55
                                Pass error: 0
                                Shot speed: 52
                                Pass speed: 100
                                Run frequency: 100
                                First touch error: 10

All the others keep at 50

Ok so the basis behind it is that I no if I don't pass the ball well, I'm gonna get punished. Keeping possession is incredibly successful, and although you may think on 4 minute halves there isn't enough time to deploy that tactic, it creates a lot more space than you think. I suppose in reality you can change the cpu passing to whatever suits you difficulty wise, as a lot of people think that on legendary the cpu is too insane anyway. The run frequency makes defending harder, which I changed because previously I felt I was getting clean sheets without justly deserving them. As i said the pace thing makes chip through balls less of an option (note that players with good passing stats will still complete these relatively effectively), however quick wingers are useful (I use Tello and Bellarabi and they are good)

Hope this helps and may get another update out later!

Also try using on this kick off first as i suspect it will be a difficult adjustment to make to start off with, but if you persevere for a few games and really try to pass the ball I find it hugely rewarding
