I don't know if any of you are still having any issues with pace, but from what I've seen a small (2 point) increase in acceleration and speed will slow the game down. I know that may sound odd, but it really helps with defensive recovery, closing down space, and ultimately slows the game down in my opinion.

Re: FIFA 17 OS Community Sliders
I've started my CM and I'm pretty happy with what's happening.
changes were:
Marking 55/55
Width 57/57
Shot error 55/55
inj freq 53/53
inj sev 5/5
and the rest default.
i started my CM with Burnley. I bought Rodwell, Nahki Wells & Stanislas for some midfield & striker depth and I'm away.
First game was a cracking game of football against Swansea. I came back from 1-0 down, then 3-1 down, then 4-3 down and somehow won 6-4. I've never seen 10 goals in game before. Both CPU and scored our goals on 9 shots on goal (i had 14 total shots, them 12).
Then i lost the next two to Pool (3-1, it was 1-1 all going into injury time and Firminho blew the game open) and chelski (3-2) in an end-to end game that was a joy to play. I was reduced to 10 men in both games after a straight red Vs Pool and 2 yellows in the first 35 minutes Vs Chelski.
The next game was nil-all draw Vs Hull, a game where we both had 2 injuries and about 8 or 9 cards between us. It was stop start and a real midfield battle. At half time there was a total of 5 shots at goal and none on target.
... so i'm pretty stoked. i'm seeing all kinds of different games and having all kinds of different outcomes. I've got a home and away formation and custom tactics (more defensive on the road in a 4-5-1 (bournemouth team sheet) and a home formation of 4-4-2 (Leicester city team sheet) ...
once injuries hit my 1st team, Burnley don't have depth, so I'm constantly resting players and subbing players in order to try and save them for the season. that extra strategy is going a long way in keeping me immersed.
unless there's another patch, I'm pretty hyped to play the year out like this.Comment

Re: FIFA 17 OS Community Sliders
Well I am having a blast post patch at default, 15 min, slow. Decided to start my CM in EL2 with portsmouth, since they have a stadium in game. Brought in Pulisic on 2 year loan, and purchased Ribiero from Orlando City and Gooch from Sunderland. Here was my 1st match, 2-0 win over Plymouth.

Re: FIFA 17 OS Community Sliders
Tough to validate the change away from default. So far, I've only noted
- Pace - too fast?
- Pressure - not enough...or too much?
Doesn't sound like anyone is mopping the floor with the CPU either, or losing unrealistically?
@fluffytonka I saw your changes, can you explain what you were looking at with those adjustments?Comment

One thing I just started playing with (curiosity) is something we started talking about just before the patch came out on PC that seemed to reduce the pace (increasing run frequency). I can't recall if it was 10 above length or height, but since both are 50 at default (easy answer)...I raised run frequency to 60 for both sides.
Limited sample size thus far but it definitely slowed pace down (the CPU would wait more for things to develop instead of pushing forward) while also inviting some added variety. Runs themselves looked good, guys were still checking to the ball, and shape was good.
This might be a possible way of slowing down pace without going through a tangle of other adjustments that pull things further away from default.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: FIFA 17 OS Community Sliders
Yeah Matt...given enough sample size you definitely see variety. Pace is probably the one (relatively) constant "issue".

Re: FIFA 17 OS Community Sliders
Hey all...we were messing around in stream today trying to eliminate the CPU's urge to shoot outside of the box all the time.
The 60/60 RF certainly helps slow the game down, but not in the way you would think...it just makes the CPU more patient in their attack (which is a good thing).
But, another thing that seems to be helping (at least in my small sample size) is upping shot speed to 52. Josh's theory on this was that it would make them more confident in their ability to get the ball in the net, so they wouldn't shoot in bad positions as much...This is by no means anything official, but something to try if you're seeing the outside shooting as an issue.
Some of us are also playing with an increased shot error (I'm currently using 53/55). This could all be connected or could all be personal preference..but if you'd like, feel free to try it.
My personal changes at the moment:
Shot Speed 52/52
Pass Speed 44/42 (I have always liked the slower pass speed, and it's not hurting variety like it has in the past)
Pass Error 52/52 (No issue at 50 necessarily, just like the added challenge)
Shot Error 53/55 (Discrep here because 55 for human creates a lot of clunkers...not so for the CPU)
Injury Severity 10/10 (Was seeing way too many injuries at 50)
RF 60/60
Don't view this as clutter, as this is part of the community working here while Matt is away to try and fix some of the issues we are seeing. Feel free to try all, some, or none of my personal preferences. No hard feelings either way!Teams:

sure matt.
Width 57:
my fullbacks still creep in and bunch up onto my CB's and break away from a flat back four at times. especially if i lose possession and get tapped on a fast counter. at 57, they keep their shape and refrain from coming infield as much.
when i have the ball, the extra width makes it much more challenging dropping the ball onto the flanks. narrower width i was finding i could OP the CPU down the flanks with long passing and lofted thru balls.
I did have width at 55, but could still land the ball down the flanks too easily (imo).
Marking 55
I have a couple of inverted wing options (stanislas, right foot on left wing, 4-star skills and flair trait) and Kenedy left foot on the right wing.
cutting inside onto goal was a little too automatic for my liking. it wasn't money, but it was regular even against good defending FB's ... marking at 55 nixed that and now when i take on the CPU i have to be ready to cough up possession, which imo is how it should be.
Shot error 55. Disclaimer, I've put the shooting onto assist for the first time in years. this year i seem to be working so hard for a good shot in on goal, only to put it over the sideline on manual was a bit deflating. haha
That's just a personal favourite setting at 55. I've still scored 30 yard bombs with ordinary guys like Arfield and Rodwell, and the CPU will still long range shoot if they get sight of goal.
I've had a 6-4 scoreline where Swansea scored 4 goals on 9 shots and i scored 6 on 9 shots.
i've also had nil-all score lines where Man U and Chelsea haven't scored on 20+ shots on goal. I've missed wide open nets on volleys from 5-yards and gone over the bar from the 12 yard spot. Headers are much harder too, but not impossible. For assisted shooting I just love the balance of play at 55.
and injuries just seem a bit extreme this year. I've gone through periods where every hard tackle will result in an injury ... then the CPU realises a team has no more subs left, then you won't see another injury that game.
at inj severity 5 ... there's lots of walk off injuries or injuries where they stay down for a few minutes but don't leave the field and they run it off. I'm still seeing 3,4 and 7 month injuries at severity 5, too.Last edited by FluffyTonka; 11-20-2016, 02:01 AM.Comment

Re: FIFA 17 OS Community Sliders
This game was the best I played so far. 15min, Worldclass, tactical depending, all manual exempt cross. Only change from sliders shot error 55/55 (real stats),52/52 pass error (various passing), 55/55 FT, RF 60/60 (I seen variety of attacks, which is good), everything else was default except pass speed 48,
Udinese (me) vs Chievo (cpu)
Real game ended same scoreAttached FilesComment
