Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
Xbox Series X - 15 Minutes Halves - Full Manual Controls - World Class - Slow Speed
This is just my opinion obviously...
I play on slow and have been on 53 sprint 49 acceleration. Even when I drop it to 48 acceleration with 53 sprint I feel like my players are in absolute slow motion. It’s like they’re stuck in mud. I couldn’t even imagine 35 sprint and 48 acceleration right now on slow game speed. I will give it a go though and try it out.
Sent from my iPhone using Operation Sports
Don't know if it's because last updates/patches slowed down the game a bit, but it's not so fast at all and, compared to real life football, like last week World Cup Qualifiers, Ecuador x Brazil and also Brazil x Paraguay, it's just amazingly similar!
About "stuck in mud", I totally understand this. I remember when I said some months ago that I also had this feeling because of the 35/35 sprint value and that I didn't know if it was because I was so used to playing a whole year of FIFA 21 on normal speed setting, but I respectfully agree with this. I understand player movements may be better to watch on 35/35, but I find it really slow sometimes on slow speed.
If we use normal speed, I find it excessively fast. It's like when I was testing this exhaustively months ago. Normal speed will always be faster even when using really low sprint speed values. It doesn't matter, unfortunately.
Anyway, acceleration 48/48 by itself really doesn't make me feel this "mud" feeling. Actually, I feel it pretty much realistic and necessary when using 53/53 sprint speed.
And finally, MOST IMPORTANT, the way CPU defenders act during counterattacks is insanely awesome. It makes going back to lower values (causing centre backs jockey/shuffle) absolutely frustrating to me.
Take a look at the these examples below. Their centre backs are simply awesome, desperately going back when we are attacking. By the way, here the pass speed is 37/29.

I've played around a bit today, but not super long, but long enough to notice a difference. The value I believe that is allowing a bit more variety from the CPU is FT at 100. I see a lot less passing sequences in tight spots, and less direct pass to obvious positions. Instead, there is a bit more hesitancy from the CPU. Good teams are in-sync, but poor teams struggle to get things going at times. The pass errors definitely stand out in the right spots.
Just a couple CPU little things from the most recent match. I like how the CPU's decision making is modified in attacking areas. Where before they would look for the central pass and 1-2, they now take it upon themselves to make things happen.
V8, Slow, WC, only difference is accel 48 and FT 100:
I think the 48 acceleration is also key in smoothing out those animations related to FT. What I noticed when dropping acceleration to 48, and setting my FPS to 30 in my avermedia, the animations were very smooth and the movement of players limbs, along with the ball, were well blended. Compare that to 50 or above, it started to almost skip limb animations at strange times.
So, I do think 48 acceleration smooths out the animations, and FT 100 actually smooths out the CPU decision making.
I did try some other values such as marking (more pressure, more decisions) and pass speed (more speed, more deflections, less tiki-taka) and the results weren't as favorable.
Anyway, that's very early, and again I did not spend a lot of time - at least not what I'm used to. I just wanted to get back to the discussion before I get a bit deeper.
Regarding pass speed, did you test also reducing it? This one is based on your report last year, after the second live tuning, when it was like it was increased in +3. The CPU infuriating tiki taka madness started just after that update and decreasing -3 helped SO MUCH!Last edited by DoctorActionRio; 02-08-2022, 12:14 AM.Comment

Respectfully continuing the 53/53 sprint and 48/48 acceleration (on slow speed, of course) discussion.
Even though it wasn't as fast as the Bayern counterattack I posted a few days ago, this (beautiful) second Palmeiras goal on FIFA Club World Cup 2022 also shows that these sliders values are still pretty much realistic, compared to real life professionals.

Perhaps the speed they reach while sprinting is fine and can be considered realistic, but the rest of the actions that the players do (turns, dribbles, stops and starts, etc) seem very accelerated to me.
I'm not even able to execute as many commands as the game requires at that speed, imagine stopping the player, feinting, then dribbling and accelerating, all that in a second since the opposite players (in legendary difficulty) move at the same speed as you do while defending or trying to steal the ball from you. Perhaps the key is to play in world class difficulty, where you have a little more time to execute the commands.
I'm playing legendary difficulty since last big patch, with 25 speed, 46 accel, 8 ball speed and it moves pretty decent for me.
I guess playing with a closer camera makes the game a bit faster too..Last edited by Serchenko9; 02-10-2022, 12:00 PM.Comment

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders

1) 53/53 sprint speed, in order to kill 99% of centre backs jockey/shuffle, but at the same time preserving defensive line integrity (as much as possible).
2) 48/48 acceleration, to attenuate the high sprint.
3) 88/88 first touch control error, after experimenting even higher values suggestions, but not liking it so much because I saw really ugly animations and some absolutely improper bad ball controls happening even with five star players. Even though I must admit it creates a more dynamic and unpredictable gameplay in general.
4) Marking 72/72, since latest updates made me feel that there's some improper space between CPU midfield and defense in some occasions, being easy to decide what to do and/or shot from outside.
5) Finally, since I'm on full manual controls, I decided to borrow legendary user sliders for shot and pass error (they are lower), because those from world class are too much for me. Also, I increased power bar to 55 a few months ago. It's much more responsive, personally.
Hi mates, it's been a long time since I posted here, but watching the counterattack videos you uploaded using 53 sprint and 48 acceleration, I decided to try it (in slow speed) and IMO the players move and execute the actions too fast.

Wait, first, "8 ball speed"?! What you mean? Pass speed? If yes, aren't your user and CPU players having to constantly run toward the ball before the ball reaches them?!
Also, just to update you about recent months discussions, I also prefer slower sprint speed, trust me, but 53/53 was the minimum possible values we found to fight the insane amount of CPU centre back jockey/shuffle happening every match.
When you say 25 for sprint speed, i can only imagine that your kind of play (probably) doesn't exploit this CPU issue. I'm sure most of those videos I uploaded would have SEVERE defensive bug/issues if using such lower values, unfortunately. It would be absolutely impossible for me and my kind of play, with multiple counterattacks.
I was scoring so many really dumb ,easy and frustrating goals to the point of almost abandoning the game. Really! And this is really, really, REALLY sad. Mainly because I love this game, which I play since FIFA 95 on Sega Genesis.
And yes, what you said makes sense. It's like what I argue here so many times. I think it's much better to "nerf" ourselves using FULL manual controls, against the world class CPU.
With all due respect and honesty, if we looking for REALISM, in my opinion it's simply IMPOSSIBLE to find it using legendary or ultimate difficulty, because the CPU will just play like those FIFA Ultimate Team addicted children and, of course, we'll have to match this frantic gameplay.
Maybe legendary/ultimate is OK if used on lower divisions and against weaker teams. Don't know. But playing with/against best teams, it won't be football anymore.
By the way, since that bizarre and horrendous "Competitor Mode" setting was introduced years ago, legendary difficulty has always been "infected" with some remains of it, EVEN WHEN IT'S DISABLED, like when CPU players out of nowhere decides to turn around or dribble (like a multiplayer kid) in instead of crossing/passing.
This is OUTRAGEOUS for offline players and should never have been introduced, because it destroyed legendary experience. But it's EA being EA. We can only try to fight against these things with the available weapons we have in our hands.Last edited by DoctorActionRio; 02-10-2022, 12:52 PM.Comment

First one, your goal against Atlético de Madrid absolutely and clearly shows CPU jockey/shuffle! You simply scored 99% because of this issue. Their defender slowed down while you was absolutely clear to score with Benzema.
Second one, your cross and head goal were realistic, their defense was acting OK, just like what can happen in real life. Professionals aren't and should never be 100% perfect when marking. But, what really annoyed me the most was how much slow your game is compared to real football.
This month, in the most recent national team match here in Brazil, against Paraguay, Vinícius Júnior was FAST AS LIGHT (he is fighting for a place in the starting 11, mainly now that Neymar is injured). These players can reach the box in just a few seconds.
Please, observe the SPEED of players like Raphinha when doing his skills/movements to score inside the box. Also, how Vinícius run to catch the ball near the side line.

I totally understand how much pleasurable and satisfying is to play a really slow paced football game, because we can enjoy it more and peacefully do our kind of play, but in real life these matches are INSANE sometimes.
Two things:
1) Do not pay attention only to the start of the matches. Wait for stamina depletion and you will notice the pace will settle down. Just like in real life!
2) All clips I uploaded were counterattacks, fast gameplay occasions. As the match unfolds, both user and CPU team will have a lot of slow moments. Mainly because the AI tends to mimic how we play. If we pass a lot and play slowly, they will also slow down in general.
Anyway, unfortunately I can't upload a full match. I don't have a capture card or any external device to save longer videos, but I will try to stream my gameplay on Twitch so it can be saved and show what I'm talking about.Comment

I have in mind everything you said, I'm a big Madrid fan (I live in Madrid) and watch Vini play since he came to Madrid, he's ultra fast, maybe the fastest player I've seen in a while.
I know the rythm is pretty high till the stamina begin to deplete, so I don't judge the begining of the games to tweak the sliders.
About the Atleti video, I know they defended a bit sloppy in that one, but look at Giménez stamina, they began the game with their 3 CBs pretty low on stamina, I guess they had some games in a row and I tried to get something of that. Look how the right CB first try to mark Benzema, then he saw Vini and stayed with him while the center CB thought about facing the player carrying the ball thinking that the right CB will cover Benzema. Then at some point the 3 CBs began to run back.
I haven't seen many jockeying with this configuration, and it's something I can't stand with it too.. that why I tried the 53 speed.
I know the game seem a bit slow, maybe there is a sweet spot between 53 and 25 that works perfectly, but think about the camera too, maybe with your camera 25 speed could look a bit faster too.
Just for the record, this one is another counter and look at full stamina Cádiz CBs, they fought with everything they had https://youtu.be/XM7-pRLw13w
Or this one just at the preseason, no jockeying at all https://youtu.be/3xoESamS_xY
I guess the legendary difficulty makes a difference with CBs passivity..
The thing I know for sure is my hands can't handle the legendary difficulty, the 53 speed and all the crazy FIFA controls at the same time. I'm more used to PES where you don't have to push L2+R2 to turn with your ball close to the feet, for example, or pressing L1 + some crazy right stick flicks to do a "croqueta", etc.. so I need to slow it down a bit to be able to enjoy the game.
Anyway, for the one interested, I've posted the whole slider set on it's own thread so everyone can try it if the community one's doesn't fit you 100%.
Cheers!Last edited by Serchenko9; 02-10-2022, 05:31 PM.Comment
