I was happy enough with V1 - actually enjoying the game , which a lot of people don’t seem to be. V2 feels great though and definitely an improvement. Games definitely feel quicker and more lively but not unrealistically sped up. I’m not sure if it’s just a little too fast for me, but I think a lot of us forget that high football is high pace, high energy. It’s not slow and lethargic.

My main concern at the moment is that marking may be a little too high. The CPU seems to be over-pursuing the ball fairly often, and a simple turn or feint sends them flying past you like a bull past a matador. This can really open up space that wouldn’t be there if they pressed a little more conservatively. Curious to hear if anyone else is experiencing similar.

Kudos and thanks to Matt and all for V2 though. I just played a couple of games and they were overall smooth, fun, and realistic. Really nicely balanced.

V2 feels beautiful.

But I did increase the pass and shot error rates as the percentages at the end of the game were far too high. Especially as I'm playing as a 1 start team in the German 3rd tier.

GKs are definitely off though. It doesn't feel like a slider issue, but they will make great saves during the game only to concede when they scuff one straight towards him and he dives out the way.

Those are good adjustments. As I said in the OP, the pass speed was lowered because the crossing and aerial speed was too fast, the camera couldn't keep up. Just kind of ruined the immersion a bit - especially when we want to see crosses.

What difficulty? I am having an incredibly hard time on Legendary.

I am struggling on harder legendary as well defensibly around the box and maintaining possession on offense. The ladder can be fixed by me. I play FUMA.

On Ultimate. Tried on Legendary, then went to Ultimate.
Even used the Harder Legendary set on Ultimate (as I have been doing for all these years of following your work), but still the same as I said.
Right now I am on the step where I invert the values (the CPU ones become the User ones and vice versa), but the situation is still the same. Really easy to take the ball from the CPU whenever they approach the area, and really easy to just keep the ball until finding that room to score the winning goal.

The dynamics and the gameplay experience are amazing and a real upgrade from what we have seen to date! But the difficulty… I already said it all.

Still, I have those questions about the SE, PE and FCT values. Am I breaking the concept of the set and the actual gameplay by tweaking those values in huge favour to the CPU? As that’s the only way I am able to make it a little bit more struggling…

It sounds to me that you are just too good at this game

Well… this “not being able to struggle” thing has been my main struggle for years, to be honest…
Having played this game since I can remember, and being an all time FIFA (now EA FC) fan and researcher/tester, actually makes it easier (or harder for this point, tho…), as I feel I know this game like the back of my hand and have such high sensitivity to understand and feel each of those simple gameplay features that compound the game, but the thing is I always found a little room to actually make it a little bit more difficult, by doing those huge tweaks in favour of the CPU I already mentioned.

What bugs me is I actually can’t have the same experience you guys have, which I really wanted to.

I love Career Mode, and always did, but it’s not that funny to win the national cup with a 1 star team, or even go unbeaten back to back to back… to back… seasons.

Hmmm gotta say that's just very odd that ur having such a ' Easy ' time n can't find a challenge. I at one point was having the same issues, but that was Fifa 17 n since I've started adjusting sliders that was never the case again. I have not yet played Fifa 24 or W.E it's called now , so I can't give any useful insights/feedback or suggestions. But I feel ur pain of not being able to enjoy the game as others are . I would always suggest Raise ur error values n decrease CPU error values. But u have done this correct?? Also what speed to u play at ? Slow ? Do u aggressively chase down the CPU each time they got on the ball ?? Do u maybe use exploits without realizing? I've decided to buy this game this year n will get to play Sunday , so maybe then I can offer some real advice.

I mean if your playing FUMA have tweaked the sliders to majorly favoured the AI whit less passing error less shooting error made them have more acceleration then you all that playing on Ultimate i mean poor you at this point you simply have beaten the game your a career mode God and i wouldn’t want to be in that position cause after that theirs no more fun offline and I wouldn’t want to go online but at this point it’s the only way you can find a certain level or fun is going against actual real ppl so hopefully their a few more tweek you can make to make it a challenge cause i can’t find no solution for you

WC Slow, 9 min, FUMA

Hi everyone! First 24 hours with the game in the books and wow, with v2 we are scarily close to the real deal. Thanks so much, Matt and all the testers! Quick couple of questions for Matt and everyone, particularly fellow FUMA players:

• Player Based Difficulty - on or off?

I remember having this on being a pleasant surprise towards the latest slider versions in FIFA 23. Anyone have a solid opinion on the effect of this in FC yet?

• Precision Pass Sensitivity - high?

Having tried both settings, I think I much prefer high. Using normal just feels a bit counter productive to what FUMA brings.

• Crossing - finally manual?

Feels like manual crossing is actually manual now. Difficult to master but I love it.

• Pass accuracy - 50 or 58?

I do recall one of Matt's sets for FIFA 23 had passing accuracy at 50 for FUMA players. Alternatively keep it at 58 and raise the CPU pass error (as they tend to have up towards 90% passing accuracy now).

Otherwise, I second most of the impressions posted here. The goalies felt very weak at 49, even bringing them back up to 50 has helped eliminate a lot of errors & silly goals but still offers the occasional mistake and keeps it interesting.

Passing is still too accurate for CPU I think. Most games there's a 10-15% difference between my and the CPU team's passing accuracy. Currently playing around with it (60 CPU Pass Error now) to find the sweet spot. Also nudged both Shot Errors up to 70, just in an effort to try to add a bit more variety (hitting posts, rebounds, close shaves etc.)

Thanks again everyone, this game is a ton of fun already. Can't wait to see how good it can get as the sliders keep developing.

Around those FIFA 17 times I wasn’t playing at Slow Speed, but I have been gradually changing for it. Yet I kind of alternate between Slow and Normal, depending on the sets and my personal experience.
I have my own playstyle (as everyone does), and it has been almost the same for a long long time, so those “exploits” are actually a thing, as I feel such a massive connection with the game and actually feel like I know what to do on each and every situation the game presents me… but… I love when it actually surprises me! Because that’s when I feel like I struggle a little! And that’s great!
I appreciate your opinion! So tell me when you get the game as I am interested on knowing what’s your feelings about it!

I will keep following the thread and doing some personal tweaks until I find that spot where it can actually feel challenging enough to be enjoyable, because in terms of the dynamics… it’s really really enjoyable!

My roots with this game are strongly on offline mode, but soon I had to migrate to the online mode after offline started to became really easy. So that point was already a point long long time ago… I had my online era with some major success, even before FUT Champions was a thing, but of course as all of us here, offline is the real deal and the main passion, so I always had a soft spot for playing Career Mode.

With that being said, I had my time with online. Don’t wanna sound arrogant, but even there I had my easy times, and, as I said, had major success. So that isn’t the case at all.

I really feel this year’s game has so much potential, so I will try and find some spot where I can take the best of it offline speaking.

I personally always no matter what the final set I settle on give the CPU a Sprint and Acceleration advantage, this is one of my favorite things to do to get a nicer challenge for me personally. But I'm really curious now , is it possible for u to upload a game ? I would love to see a game and ur playstyle, that would make it a tad simpler to evaluate n possibly suggest things ? Watching gameplay is always more helpful, ur case has me really interested now lol
