To add to this. The goal of the sliders and testing is to make sure that the passive or active defending does not overly and unrealistically mess up team shape. One of the reasons DAA and CB jockey always needs to be addressed is that those things unrealistically break the defensive shape. A passive defender letting you dribble a bit too much doesn't NECESSARILY do that. So you try to test the values that effect that. Accl is a big one for maintaining aggressive enough defenders while also maintaining team shape.

It's not even ' Passive defending ' it's the fact I can walk right in without using sprint or skill moves and the CPU defenders will just allow it to happen cus they will literally make room n move out the way alot of the times . When ur just moving sideways or even standing still in ur half of the field , it's ok if they don't come charging in trying to win the ball back right away . That's not the issue here . Issue is walking in and having the cpu make room and not try to challenge then . Did u see my clip? I have clips where I take my CB and simply walk it in beating everyone n dance in the CPUs penalty box without them trying to challenge. That's the problem and it's not Sprint or acceleration related at all . I have tested it even with CPU Acceleration at 55 and sprint 50 , and my sprint at 5 and acceleration at 49 ! Makes no difference

Does a profile reset and playing without logging into EA slow the game down more? I play on slow with V4 and some matches feel way too fast

Apparently so. Can someone remind us how to do the profile reset again? (I’m on XSX. Leg/Slow/V4).

Sod’s Law - after spending the past couple of weeks trying out the different set versions as they’ve been posted (in Kick Off matches) and loving the gameplay, I finally had time to sit down today and start my Career Mode. Spent a couple of hours setting it all up: tactics, player instructions, transfers, etc. Got to the first game of the season and lo and behold, the gameplay felt dreadful.

The midfield was completely non-existent, for the CPU anyway - they were just spamming direct passes to the forwards and running in behind. All the players felt jittery/janky and I was seeing some really odd, unnatural animations when tackling/contesting for the ball etc. Nothing like the slow, steady, calm and calculated gameplay I’d come to love. I also purposely didn’t hire any coaches to avoid the +6/+7 stat boosts, and was disconnected from EA servers.

So I’m guessing it’s that same old issue we get every year. Unfortunately this continues to be the absolute worst thing about the game, as you load it up each day without knowing what “version” you’re going to get. I don’t particularly want to uninstall and reinstall the game but if I have to, I will. If someone can let me know how to do the profile reset trick in the meantime though that would be appreciated.

Not discounting your videos, because it's obviously an issue you've identified... however, I think no one has noted it because they aren't playing the game that way. I'd never attempt to do that, so I don't see it.

What I can tell you is if I sprint, or do skill moves, the AI is definitely closing me down and tackling me.

Just my .02, I don't think you're going to find an answer you're looking for. What I'd say is, if you are playing this way, try messing with marking slider and see if it corrects? Again, I just don't think folks are dedicating time to fix issues in a playstyle they'd never use in game.

I’ve always found that on Slow-Pace, anything below 51 acceleration for either User or CPU is unbearable. At least it was on FIFA 23. Even on 50/50 Acceleration on Slow-Pace, players look and feel like they’re wading through thick mud.

50/50 or lower Acceleration on Default-Pace is fine though.

I actually like this, players SHOULD have weight to them so the movements aren’t super-human. Players being able to turn 180 degrees in a fraction of a second with no foot planting or inertia looks and feels like absolute trash to me.

But each to their own and all that- that’s the whole point in sliders. The game can almost play how you want it to.

I’ve got 50/50 accel currently with the game on slow WC (ps5). I’ve reduced pass speed to 35 and RF to 30 and I’m pretty happy. My only gripe is once the CPU sprints at me I’m done unless I block them, once they’re past there’s no catching them. I’m not sure what will fix that at the min- would love some advice.

Yeah I watched the 5 min clip against Cremonese. And too be honest you are not walking it into the penalty area. Like from 1:00-1:49 while you are spam dribbling like that multiple pressures come and even a slide tackle and then you get dispossessed. Its a balanced, counter attack team they are going to let you have the ball in the area you are dribbling around and then try to win it off you closer to their box. My only complaint with the AI is that maybe in the last 5 ten mins of the game they should press more for a tying goal but that's not the same as the "AI lets me walk it in".

I play on world class with 40/51 sprint and 51/58 acceleration values at slow speed. These were the values last year. I don't see such a passive CPU.

Using V4. First test vs arsenal couldn't dribble for my life ha. Will try a lower pressure team.

If it's not how you're playing, then what are you trying to solve for?
When you play your usual style, is the AI letting you walk into goal? Maybe that's a better way to ask it to you.

I mean, that’s literally the issue with going below 51 Acceleration on Slow. You just said it. Once the CPU sprint past you, it’s impossible to catch them because the game mechanics and animations for sprinting are delayed on Slow if Acceleration is below 51.

When you play your usual style, is the AI letting you walk into goal? Maybe that's a better way to ask it to you.

Because it happens naturally when simply playing. If I receive the ball in midfield with my CM and start slowing moving in the direction of goal and I'm let in to go unchallenged, what are u supposed to do ? Stop n pass it backwards cus the CPU is dumb ? It happens unintentionally and intentionally if u want to do this . I don't know if u watched the game I uploaded to show u my playstyle, but I DO have great amazing games where I absolutely enjoy myself and have a challenge. Using the 2nd controller method to set up the CPU team , tactics and instructions prior to starting the game does help . I just suggest if people do experience to use 2nd controller method to set cpu tactics to combat this a little bit if anyone else sees it as a problem.
