Does anyone have an issue with pressing 'Y' to get the keeper to rush out, that he seems to be stuck in the 6 yard box runnign on the spot as if there is an invisible wall stopping him coming out to close down?

Re: EA SPORTS FC 24 OS Community Sliders
I like the sliders - they are clearly better than default settings. I feel the game is more fair, and I like that CPU doesn't make a million pointless passes on World Class. Still, I'm sticking to 6 minutes halves as the goal average per game is still very high - around 5. The defending is generally atrocious, and I'm not sure if any sliders can fix it. Generally, the experience is very similar to FIFA 23.
There is basically no defending in this game. From the user and cpu. As long as you sprint, there's basically no tackles. You just breeze past the cpu and they return the favour.
It also generally feels to me like almost the pitch is too large. There are so many spaces all over the pitch. It's too easy pass the ball straight through the centre of the pitch and impossible to close down those spaces when defending.
I play full manual, 30 minutes and my pass percentage despite ramping up error rates and playing with a 1 star team is 90%. And there are about 45 shots per game.
Have to admit to being a little disappointed with the openess to the gameplay thus far.Comment

Re: EA SPORTS FC 24 OS Community Sliders
45 shots in a 30 minute game equals a shot every 70 seconds in real time.
If you play at 500 miles per hour, you're game is full of shots. But that's not the way I play. That's why I'm able to do 30 minute matches.
In fifa 23 my games were all 1-0, 1-1, 2-1 with only the occasional game getting more than that. With rarely any team having more than 10 shots.Comment

It's so much easier on this game because there is no marking whatsoever. Even if you ramp up the marking slider, it doesn't appear to achieve anything.Comment

Re: EA SPORTS FC 24 OS Community Sliders
After playing now plenty of games, I'm becoming more disappointed with the game. It felt great at first because the new weightiness to the players and ball felt good. But the flaws are really showing now.
1. There is simply far too much space all over the pitch. Marking is abysmal. And it makes dribbling and passing too easy. Both myself and the cpu finish the matches with over 95% dribble success and over 90% pass success. This is on full manual with the error rates ramped up.
2. Jockeying simply doesn't work. The cpu just punts the ball past you and chases it and you can't turn around and catch up.... When they jockey you just flick the left stick or hold sprint and they can't tackle you.
3. Every shot at the near post goes in.
There is a decent game here somewhere but these flaws really bring the quality down. It's totally unrealistic for the dribbling and passing percentages to be so high. And the number of shots per game as a result it laughable.Comment

Re: EA SPORTS FC 24 OS Community Sliders
I noticed my near post goals and goals in general went down when I switched the default Shot Assistance from Precision to Manual. Not sure if others have tried that.
Precision: "Aiming at the goal results in more accurate shots and faster ball speeds."
Why would aiming at the goal make you shoot more powerfully?Comment

Wonder how some of you manage to have more than 30 shots per game ? I’m not able to have more than 11. Yesterday I played 3 games 0-1, 1-1, 2-0. The one that I won 2-0 manage to have 9 shots only. 8 min halves world classComment

This game is never going to be 100 % realistic even with the sliders changes.
Sometimes the simple thing is not abuse broken mechanics / stuff but try to find the balance what you can do and what not.
Also you never tell what console you are using or what settings.
The game is probaly much diffrent with older generation consoles than current gen and PC.
Also here is my stats from 1 game after the changes. PC, FUMA, WC with 10 min half.Comment

Re: EA SPORTS FC 24 OS Community Sliders
90% pass completion on manual is insane, even 80% like you have there is high for me. I don't play a slow patient possession style though, I play a much more aggressive game with a lot of risky passes. My pass completion rate can be as low as high 60's but usually is low to mid 70's.Comment

Sounds like you are abusing the game mechanics.
