        I don't know what causes this. You should experience a lot of shots on legendary. Or what do you mean by that? No long range shots? What teams have you experienced this against?

            Based on Matt's comments over the years, I wouldn't touch line height. If you want to cut down on your shots, I would personally recommend moving to more manual controls for passing (you'll likely have more error) and potentially increasing your team's passing error. My thinking is the way to decrease your shots is to make it more difficult for your team to retain possession. Alternatively, or additionally, bump the CPU acceleration by a point or two, and/or their sprint speed, while not changing yours. That's often noted as a great way to increase the challenge of playing through them

            A lot of people would like to be able to increase defender aggression, but I don't believe anyone has found a magic bullet without other drawbacks.

              I made the mistake of playing a squad battles match the other day. I know the gameplay is a little different there than career mode - but it does make you instantly appreciate how much great work Matt and team has done to make the game more enjoyable! Side rant - seriously there's something in the background coding that makes low chem bronze teams play like superhumans in that mode!

                Played approx. 6 games now following TU5. I don’t want to speak too soon, but… the game is playing as well as it has for a long time; since before TU3 came along and broke everything

                I’m playing on Legendary, Default game speed, V5B6 (so 55 Height, 30 Length, 52 Marking, etc) but with a couple of tweaks to Pass & Shot Speed.

                I know Matt still wanted to confirm a couple of values but I’m honestly not sure how the current set can be improved. Great work everyone.

                    I don’t think two different gameplay experiences separated by several title updates are ever going to feel exactly the same. I also don’t think today’s update has changed much, if anything, about how the game feels (just a couple of tweaks such as GK AI). However, personally I think the game feels just as good to play now as it ever has so far on FC 24.

                      Personally, I'd say it's a mix between the pre-TU3 and the post-TU4 gameplay. For example, compared to TU3, you'll see the CPU making more runs down the wing more often and sometimes playing faster (might depend on the teams). There were some points where the CPU would play wayyy too fast and start going nuts with pinpoint lightspeed passes. From what I've seen, that was fixed and doesn't seem to happen anymore in TU5 which is good.
                      Apparently the unreal pressure was fixed too. Now you can make short passes and they won't just steal the ball from under your legs before you can even do anything. Although the marking is slightly better now. It's a little bit harder to do solo runs/dodge the players but that's good too.


                      So yeah, I think it went back to the previous gameplay with only a few tweaks which are good IMO.

                        Yeah, we are just about there. Thankfully the update didn't hurt anything of our testing. We're just reviewing the Height value now to confirm pressure upfield. Basically scaling from 55-70; but early testing on 70 is still doing what we expected pre-patch where the defensive line is introduced too soon.

                          I’m doing a Crystal Palace career mode on harder legendary and after 24 games the most shots I had against me was against arsenal they had 8 shots. All on harder legendary as well when I was averaging 15 a game. 8 min half’s as I mentioned earlier. All different shots

                            Thanks for your reply I was thinking adding the cpu acceleration up another point or 2 might be the way forward to increase difficulty without moving to ultimate where it becomes too unrealistic.

                                Playing on Legendary here...

                                Does anyone else feel like 1v1 battles are a losing fight? I just can't for the life of me dribble past defenders even if i do quick speed bursts with fast players. The CPU always reads my inputs even before my player actually executes them. I'm not even gonna mention how useless skill moves are. Just a simple step over or a ball roll actually serving a purpose would be appreaciated.

                                The constant acceleration burst the CPU performs are absolutely impossible to replicate as well. For all the talks of CB jockey and what not i feel like at the end of the day it's fhe CPU who always has the upper hand because, without fail, they always react and run faster than user-controlled players. No reasonable amount of speed or acceleration discrepancy in favour of the player seems to fix this.

                                The HLW combo is starting to make sense to me. Don't know if it's the whole setup working in harmony but apart from a few personal adjustments, the current set is working fine.

                                The one thing really, really bothering me is, despite showing a bit more variety, the CPU is still constantly dribbling down the wing and exploiting the passive backline to go for a cutback. And it works because everything is working against the player: the slower acceleration, the broken tackling implementation, the braindead defensive line, etc. It's getting frustrating to be honest. I always have to defend against the same exact play and a lot of times there's just nothing i can do except watch the ball go in or give away a silly penalty.
