Yep, there wasn't much reason to sink a bunch of time into the other current gen versions because the options were so limited. I'm not sure if I'll be able to completely wean myself from FIFA 09 or WE9, but another great option never hurts. I'll probably order a copy from the UK next year so I don't have to wait so long.

Re: PES 09 Option File Sources
I recently played WE 9 today and the new PES 2009 today at a buddy's house (He still has his Xbox). And I found my self wanting to play WE9 more than Pes 09 (which is not bad either) but I realized all the stuff WE9 had. Grass stains on the kits and even when someone was injured when you kicked the ball out of play the computer would return it back to you. I think I am going to have to find some way to get this game updated again, seriously.Yep, there wasn't much reason to sink a bunch of time into the other current gen versions because the options were so limited. Re: PES 09 Option File Sources
Ok, I'm kind of lost with this whole option file thing:
-Is there any 360 option files out there? I checked evo-web and others and all I see are ps2 or ps3. Nothing for 360.
-Do we even know for sure that the European option files won't work with the US version? (making the first question pointless).Go Sabres!Comment

Re: PES 09 Option File Sources
To be honest I doubt there will be many Xbox 360 option files for the NA versions since there are so few for the Euro. I think Pategato from pesgaming.com might make one but that is unsure.Ok, I'm kind of lost with this whole option file thing:

I might make one after the Jan. transfer window so I can implement some nice stats if I can find time because that is probably when I gonna pick this game up. I am not hard pressed to play any football games this year believe it or not. (Especially since my 360 is broken).Comment

Re: PES 09 Option File Sources
Yes,because of the licensing restrictions put in place after WE9 due to a lawsuit in Germany and the loss of the Chelsea license, WE9 is probably going to be the King of content/gameplay mix for awhile. The new PES just can't match the little touches and eztra teams in WE9. Both FIFA and PES 2009 have their advantages too. Football/Soccer probably offers us the best crop of games to pick from of any sport.I recently played WE 9 today and the new PES 2009 today at a buddy's house (He still has his Xbox). Re: PES 09 Option File Sources
The file should work if WE9 is supported on 360. You won't be able to use an original Xbox file without some means to transfer it to your 360. I'm not sure how that works. I know there is a hard drive attachment that lets your computer access your 360's hard drive via USB connection. You might try a search for Xbox 360 saves and see if there are any sites out there that have posted the already converted files.
Option files can be a pain on consoles. It either takes a lot of time to build them, or the transfer is typically difficult. It's worth it if you get it up and running though. Outside of ESPN NFL 2K5 there was no other sports game that can measure up to WE9 last gen imo.Comment

Re: PES 09 Option File Sources
It looks like I'll get my copy tomorrow. It should be to my house by the time I get home from work. I'm going with the PS3 version because the saves are easier to share. I'll let everyone know if I find a 360 Option File in my search for a good base to build off of.Ok, I'm kind of lost with this whole option file thing:

Re: PES 09 Option File Sources
The 360 is a pain for editing. The 360 doesn't let you copy any images to the hard drive at all, so you have to do everything through the vision camera (which ends up looking quirky).
I can look at pictures from my PC on 360, but PES won't recognize them.
I set up my laptop and vision cam to take a picture of each logo, and it looks ok, but nothing great.
I would have no idea how to share this all out too.
This is probably why there isn't a 360 option file.

Re: PES 09 Option File Sources
Thanks for the reply. I think the xsata device works to copy xbox option files over to the 360. I have one of those so it should work, although on some forums they say it doesn't work. When you say that your option file is up to date, have you made the player moves on your own? I assume that latest option files are only updated to a certain date in the past. Sorry for all of the questions, thanks for answering.

Re: PES 09 Option File Sources
Yep, it sounds like the 360 is going to be a difficult console for those looking to trim out Option Files, or find them for download. The gameplay is still top notch though. I would be okay with making some of the easier edits and then improving things as I go along. The 360 is a pain for editing. Re: PES 09 Option File Sources
Oh no, I mean that my option file is reflective of 2005. I try to keep my sports games synced to the period they were relased. I shoudl have said that it has all the teams named correctly, the players from that season on those teams with more accurate ratings, the stadia named, the cups/trophies named, all the real team emblems, and any thing else that could be edited that I'm forgetting.Comment
