    Re: Option Files

Thank you for posting this! I'm on the fence about trading in FIFA 11 for PES 11 after playing the demo for the latter (and holding onto FIFA 10, which I had more fun with). But one of my major concerns was whether I could find a proper community option file, since the licensing sparsity in PES does bother me a bit. This brings me one step closer to making the switch, though I have to research feasible ways to move the files over (I tried this on Backbreaker and could get it, even though I had done it in the past with NFL 2k5 and other 360 games).

Since I'm an idiot and have never D/L option files....how exactly does one acquire them? PS3, btw...

Bonus question: Does the UK version even play on an American PS3? Will it even work? I'll order it if it does...

Xbox take a longer processes. I'm going to load one today and will put detailed instructions on how to do after work.

On PS3 its 10 times easier than 360.
        1) Download the correct version. What i mean is that there are various BLES versions, UK is BLES 20 or BLES 21, the rest of Europe is BLES 22. So it all depends which one you imported and the way to tell is on the disk there is a BLES Number, that will indicate which one you download.
2)Once you downloaded the correct file on a computer, extract the file. It will be one folder named PS3 that contains a lot of other files.
        3) Drag and drop the PS3 folder onto a usb flashdrive,
        4) Put the flash drive in the ps3 go to the Save Data Utility folder, Select the flash Drive and copy each file to the ps3 hardrive. Should take 10 minute or so.
        5) Also when asked, Overwrite the Edit Option file and you are done.
        6) Load the game and Enjoy.

        PEACE!

That was.......awesome! But, I guess if the answer to my bonus question turns out to be "no", then I won't waste my time. Regardless, thanks for the quick and thorough response!

Sounds like those option files might be addressing some of the same stuff. Do they over-write each other? I assume you can only use 1, correct?

One option file per User on the PS3. But if you create multiple User names on the PS3, you can use multiple option files.

Yes but there's no need. Download the option file and make sure it's for your correct version disc. Copy the "PS3" folder to a usb stick. Then copy those files one by one to your ps3 Save Data section.

I think it's much easier on the 360 because you don't have to copy each file 1 by 1. Last year on the PS3 it took me forever. This year on the 360 it took me literally no time to DL the option file, put it on a flashdrive, and copy it to the 360 HD.

Yeah, it takes all of 2 seconds with XBOX now. Unless you have a mac, in which case you're screwed. Damn i need to find myself an XP CD somewhere.

Konami really needs a 2K Share type feature. It would make life so much easier for everyone and with such an online community it's really a no-brainer.

IMO, too many files and too big to really be viable with the 2k Share framework.

Ah, you're right. I forgot about how big some of them are.

I searched all through my folders and never found a PS3 folder. All I found was a shortcut to the download that it said was not working (in recent documents). I tried this over and over again and never got it right. I finally just gave up. My laptop has Vista (I know, I know), so maybe that's the problem...
