MLS//USL 2011 Patch

Note: Started this project yesterday.

These are the teams that will be included in the patch. There will be three total sets, the first set will be "Major League Soccer", then "United Soccer League", then "Expansion" - expansion will have 3 teams (Last 3 teams on the list).

My aim is just to make this playable. I will try my best to create kits - but don't promise any high quality, I'm not great at it. As far as rosters, it will most likely be the 2010-2011 rosters, depending on how long this takes, the rosters will be updated the best I can.

If anyone wants to help with kits, please let me know. Roster help would also be appreciated, however it's not big deal - as I'm a bit of a stickler on getting things done.

The good news is, when I start a patch, I become obssessed almost - I have much free time, so I'm expecting to get this launched within a decent amount of time.

**progress update:

11/26: Inputted all Emblems into kitserver and in-game option file sucessfully. Altered OF league structure to properly reflect Promotion/Relegation (USL promoted to MLS, vice-versa). Rosters and Kits are next.

I'm going to try my best to make it a simple self extractor with its own pes11 executable (similar to what some other patches from evo web do) that way you can keep your other files, just a separate kitserver. Like I said I'm going to try - not sure how easy it is yet.

Well Kits are a beast. Out of all the editing I loathe kits the most because I can't edit them in-game for some reason.

Anyways, I haven't completed the first team yet. I've been trying to get way too fancy. So, I've decided just to keep it simple for release sake. All that is going to be on them is a) the right color, b) sponsors and emblem.

That's it. Once I "hone" my kit making skills, then I'll include some detail.

Sounds great. By the way, could you link me to a kit template? I'd like to try my hand at it, though I'm sure I'm terrible at it, and couldn't find anything.

Can't you just use .PNGs? I have some that I found for last year's game that include almost all the MLS teams, though I guess you want to make your own?

ocho - I am using PnGs actually - I'm just modifying the ones from another patch and from there it's just trial and error. At this moment I've completed the Chicago Fire. Granted, they are not remotely the same design as their real life counterpart - but it will pass for me.

Ocho - if you have the pngs, you mind sending them my way? just pm me.

Edit: btw, these are the PC kit models - I'm not sure the PS3 versions can work - if it does, I have no idea how to install it.

Lol - now you see what I've been working with.

Although, after nearly all day of frustration - I figured out how to modify existing kits, so it's a lot easier and I'm not building from scratch.

For the sake of release - I've just decided to make "fantasy" goal keeper kits.

Two clubs done so far - many more, but at least I'm in a rhythm.

No big deal about the keepers.

Out of curiosity, are you planning on trying to perfect the kits after release?

Good luck with your project. Are you using FM conversions for stats?

I always found that editing the player stats and appearance was the most frustrating part and usually made me give up.

When I had my game installed, I had made a complete LA team only.
