Taking advice on any aspect of the game...

    good grief, i look ********...

I remember WE8 having a steep curve when i first started, but it seems like i have NEVER played this series at all!!! it has only been a couple of years since i was playing virtually every day.

Particularly nice to hear about would be advice on ball control. My first touches are abysmal, and I am having absolutely ZERO luck maintaining possession under pressure...folks online are dribbling around me, but the slightest pressure and I lose the ball.

I haven't played online so I don't how it differs from playing against the AI, but I know R2 helps keep possession, especially if you try to keep your man in between the ball and the defender. In other words don't give the defense a clear path to the ball, and when they do close down and appear ready to steal the ball, pass it away.

I've also noticed that a team's strategy plays a huge part in this year's game. So if you play to the strategy for whatever team you're using you should be more successful, because all your AI teammates will play according to the strategy that is being used. For example if your team is set to play a defensive possession game, and you're trying to push the ball forward, you're probably not going to have much luck.

The strategy aspect is done really well. My last game was an exhibition game between two random picked French league teams, and my team was set to an offensive possession game. The whole game I was dominating control of the ball, but other team must have been set to counter attack because they were countering like crazy and ended up winning 2-1 because I was exposed at the back.

And finally, lowering game speed helps a great deal, and in fact effects the difficulty of the game. When the game is slower you can see plays develop a lot easier, and you can also read and react to the animations a lot better.

That sums it up nicely. I agree with it
