It is better but I still have concerns based on that video as well.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmUJajHxgjY

I think this was done on a higher difficulty setting check it out. I mean I am not impressed with FIFA regardless as I have my reasons. However, see for yourself.Comment

It does look like we'll be given space and time to work with without having extreme pressure. That's encouraging.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmUJajHxgjY

Re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 Trailer - Gamescom 2011

I did notice that as a plus as defenders were actually backing off, something that was missing in FIFA 11. Besides that FIFA 12 stills has some issues it will never fix IMO as I feel it is just part of the developers style to make this game appeal to the masses or just things they can't get right. Such as; the lack of well built-up play making players like Cesc, Pirlo, Xavi, X Alonso, and others almost appear non-existent. Also, over emphasis on wing play and still the gun-ho style of play also it almost makes it seem that the pitch is really small in FIFA.

These are just my opinions however I do think FIFA's animation are excellent but there are too many deciding factors for me that make FIFA really unplayable to me. I gave both FIFA 11 and PES 11 a try last year after skipping out on both games for 2010. I ended up playing PES 11 more than FIFA but ended up being unsatisfied with PES 11 too. I really hope PES 12 will be an great game as I saw the potential last year. For FIFA 12....well...we will see, the fact that they added sliders could be a plus.Comment

That is my biggest issue with Fifa as well. In the videos as pointed out there is more time on the ball but the space still looks tight IMO if that makes senseI did notice that as a plus as defenders were actually backing off, something that was missing in FIFA 11. I will play both demos but as of right now I think I will be going back to PES this year. the past 2 years I have actually played Fifa more than PES but I think that might change this year.Comment

Football Life looks great, but the Goalies were terribly weak in that trailer.Comment

Could be the difficulty but I do agree that is one of the weakest things in the trailer. It is said that they are working on it but I would really like to see some new GK animations. I haven't seen great GK since PES 6 although I do think that PES 11 wasn't that bad.Comment

Yeah, I played a lot of BAL too and I seen some very nice saves from GK's. I just hope they improve their animations. Also one thing I really hope they fix is the condition arrows, and make it really based on form. Something I noticed in BAL is that if two GK's (also other players) are really close in rating say 74 & 76 in most cases they will be sharing games depending on the condition arrows. It's not as bad as it sounds because in some cases it makes sense, they are playing the better player at the moment.

However, I feel it is unrealistic because a goalie could be on a five game clean sheet after being on a red arrow condition, all of a sudden one game later he gives up two goals and goes down to a green arrow(which is still good), while the second gk goes to a yellow incline arrow and the coach ends up playing him over the next few games ignoring the fact that their number one goalie was in better form and his the better goalie at the moment. This happens in all positions too but not as much as the GK's, this may be small problem for some or others might not care but I just always felt it ignores realistic in-game form, I really hope they improve itComment

100% agree. Quite simply, it should be tied into match ratings. I feel like match ratings are fairly accurate in this. They might be a tad on the low side and rounded off but when I feel like I play well the ratings usually support it.Yeah, I played a lot of BAL too and I seen some very nice saves from GK's. I have a feeling a lot of people are looking at the videos and thinking that it looks just like 2011. All of the testers/reviewers keep saying is "play it first and then judge it". I'm amped to get the demo. I think BAL will be the true test of how much the AI has improved.Comment
