Re: 2nd Demo Coming Sept. 14th! (Xbox too)
Played a couple games of PES so far. It is a nice length game so you can really get a feel for it. I think the game looks really good and it is nice to have AI that reacts to what is going on around them and even makes runs. A lot of mid field battles so when you got in front of the net it seemed like you needed to take advantage of it. It wasn't just fast break ball and you could even keep possession in one on one sometimes. Goalies seemed adequate. My two games were 1-0 and 1-3.
I am feeling a little disjointed from the dribbling though. Maybe I am used to being able to turn on a dime because PES feels a little 'sluggish' to me. Maybe I just need to get used to actually dribbling a ball vs running where I please with a ball attached to my foot. I also don't think I understand skill moves as there were times when it seemed my player would start jockeying with the ball even though I didn't really do anything except maybe bump the modifier. Sprint will also take a bit of getting used to as well. You cannot just turbo around at will - you have to account for a ball in this game.
I setup manual controls (except semi for switching) and it feels really good. Sometimes it seems like the AI players will jump in an make saves before I can manually take over but I'll take that over AI that just stands there. Only beef is after the game it goes into some long unskippable promotional trailer and if you just reboot the game you have to set all your config back up.
