You're being charitable. MLO is pretty much ruined by lag. People talk about licenses and engines, but to me the main thing FIFA has going for it is a completely dominant online package. In terms of performance, playability and replay value. PES is gonna have to compete online if they ever want to put a dent in FIFA's crown.

I have no reason to buy PES until they get more licensed teams. All the teams I want are in Fifa. The only thing PES has over them is the Champions League which they have an alternate version in Fifa.
this is probably the least likely reason I would ever go for one footie game over the other at this point... as many others have said... PES has many option files and edits available. I'm not going to tell you what to do but this should never be a reason not to buy PES imo

I agree with this... I started out with PES last year but moved on to FIFA just for the simple fact of online gaming. FIFA online is very dominant over PES online.. it's not really close at all. Most footie or sports gamers are going to buy the the better online experience in the end every time. It's unacceptable for Konami not to have better online. They need to copy EA... why not have clubs online in PES even? they need to get a lot better servers or something as well. EA at least tries for 11 v 11 and has been doing it for a couple of years now. Konami is still stuck on trying to get 1 v 1 done right it seems like.

with that said.. the new PES engine sounds great.. and even if it still sucks online I will probably buy the new PES I'm sure because of the gameplay. but in the end for me these days.. the replay value does not last as long for me anymore if the game is only playable offline. I can only play the computer AI so much... and I am to old to sit around and play my buddies offline anymore. boy do I miss the old PES PS2 offline multiplayer days though. It's odd that konami doesn't understand if they had good online mulitplayer.. people would flock back to their footie game fast

I'm sure I will play both again next year

After only playing FIFA Street for a few weeks last year I'm itching for PES's return. The stupid magic boots REALLY turned me off to the game. All I needed to hear was the feature will be removed, everything else is just icing on the cake at this point.
I'm all for APF going PES on EA (acronyms FTW!)

Funny you should mention Fifa Street, as I have been hoping for years that a football title would include small-sided training games to practice quick passing in tight spaces...you would think it wouldn't be too difficult to include - I'd like 5v5+1 in a small area and full sided games on half a field with big goals, stuff teams train on all the time and would improve the gaming experience.

This may make me buy a PS4 as soon as it's released.

It sounds pretty good, I like the editing option how its unlimited now. It will take forever to do but it should be worth it. The physical mechanics sound exciting too along with the squad emulation. Lets hope its not a smoke show again. I usually buy both FIFA and PES titles. But the last 2 years I haven't even looked at PES sadly. Nothing like PES7. That was the ****.

                I'm excited about this.

Just the other weekend my friend brought over FIFA 13, and I have PES 13, playwise my friend commented that both games felt the same to him.

We had another friend over that doesn't play games ever but knows football the best of the lot of us and he mentioned that in PES 2013 he could already recognize a team by it's play style (he used this to identify the fake english league teams).
