Thinking of getting PES
Can someone give me an unbiased opinion on FIFA 15 V PES15? Also is there an official team let, because I saw someone on twitch playing with Chelsea on twitch, but I didn't see anywhere that the Epl was licensed. Amy feedback would be awesome, thanks.Tags: None -
Re: Thinking of getting PES
It really all depends on what YOU want out of your football game. FIFA is 100% a next gen title, from the licenses, to the graphics, to the commentary, to the options/sliders, menus everything. PES is none of that, at all. Its awful in all of these areas actually.
On the pitch, FIFA again is pretty strong, the ball and player physics are top notch, better than PES again. BUT, and this is HUGE, in FIFA there isn't much of a style difference between clubs, the CPU pretty much plays the same way each game. IN PES, every games feels different, they've really done a tremendous job in this area and its the biggest selling point of the game IMO. -

Why not trying both demos? Play them to exhaustion!!! Give it a go for at least some good 20 to 30 matches on each, so you can decide wich one is better.Comment

Yup, or maybe watch some Twitch feeds and/or try to get someone on here to share it with you if you're on the PS4.Comment

Thinking of getting PES
Another reason I like PES is the licensing of Champions League, Europa League, not to mention AFC Champions League and the other two South American Tournaments that I can't spell at my present location :\

Ive played numerous games online where messi and neymar played as RB and LB and were unstoppable as defenders and when bringing the ball up, any move makes your players miss -- they were playing box to box, no problems.
Another problem is that you can hold the speed button all game and players seem to not lose their speed, acceleration or stamina... it's quite ridiculous.
Physics are great on FIFA, but this year I think PES is pretty close. You wont see the sort of shots, passes, crosses on FIFA as you do on PES.
Havent bought a PES game since PES 2008, but this year I traded in FIFA cause, to me, the gameplay doesn't even come close.PSN: Peji911Comment

Re: Thinking of getting PES
To reiterate what others have said, two things draw me to PES:
1. Variety of play. FIFA 14 was a good game, a game that also got old really fast due to it's redundancy. I've only played a handful of games in PES 15 so far and it feels like they've got the variety aspect down.
Generally speaking this is how the two games differ. EA has never really been known for a lot of depth and strategy in their sports games, while Konami has made it a focus for PES. I haven't played FIFA 15, but from what I gather it pretty much follows suit.
2. PES may not have a lot of licenses, but the ones it has are very good. The Champions League is fun to play through, as are the other tournaments. It's also nice to have those licenses in Master League.Comment

Re: Thinking of getting PES
I appreciate the feedback guys. I might pick it up and try it out. I'll lose the 20 or so bucks but I'll be happy with a good soccer game. I'm just hesitant mainly because I love playing with Liverpool even post Suarez lol. As far as the cheap stuff with Messi and Neymar I'm sure they'll patch that lol. Well I hope they do

Re: Thinking of getting PES
Yea lol I should've clarified, if I get the game and trade either Fifa or Pes back in. I'll keep the game I like more and trade in the other lol. I have fifa but I think I'm in the same boat as everyone else, I want something a little more authentic.Comment

Re: Thinking of getting PES
pretty much agree but I would add if you are very serious about online gaming.. FIFA is not only the better option but it's actually the best online sports game period. NHL could of been this but it's not.. FIFA over took it a couple years back and on next gen consoles nothing comes close. with that said I haven't really gave the online portion of PES a test run yet but I already know it will not be as good as FIFA. imo.. PES gameplay beats FIFA though with the best sliders from anyone on this forum. Sliders on FIFA does not beat the gameplay and the computer AI of PES. but FIFA once against wins with online.. all the extra options.. next gen factor. but the core of actual gameplay PES easily this year for me. I traded FIFA in only because I Find the gameplay repetitive after awhile and I'm already bored of it. I could also think that about PES after a month or 2 but so far I can see the longevity of the PES gameplay will keep me playing longer than FIFA does... if not i will buy back FIFA again. lol . PES is more simulation to me after playing it more today. I think it beats FIFA at capturing the real life feel of a match and making you think and play with proper footballing brain. FIFA does not do that for me. the best way to play that game to win against the AI on the highest levels is not realistic imo.. the computer AI and online human play forces you to play not real if you want to be very good at it. That's my biggest issue with FIFA. I mean you can make the game play good by playing a certain way with sliders and play your own style but it will not be the best way to beat the game at the highest levels and to be very competitive online if you were looking for that. I think PES forces player more so actually at playing realistic tactics and is more rewarding when you do something good bc of it. maybe it's just me but that's how i feel.. bottom line you can't go wrong with either. I would say play both demos and get what you like better knowing all the other factors discussed here. and keep in my mind.. both retail versions of the game plays even better than the demos as well. PES needs fouls fixed though. I was today trying to foul on purpose the entire match taking out players just for testing.. you really see how bad the issue is when doing this. I hope this will be addressed in a patch.Comment

Re: Thinking of getting PES
Well you see here's where things get a little sticky. If you want the Premier League, you almost have to go FIFA. the Every stadium, just about every players scanned, beautiful overlays, real referees, four levels of football, Capital One Cup, FA Cup. Id say if you want to play in England, get FIFA. Outside of England, PES becomes an option. It's really not a legit option if you want to play in the BPL.Comment
