TrueBrits has been playing against the CPU on Superstar in all of his videos so far this year, so it's definitely against the CPU. He's gearing up to start ML. Saying "we" to describe the team he is controlling is just his way with language. I can't speak on whether he had fluid formations assigned to Tottenham, so maybe that would have helped.

PES 2016 Available Today, Post Your Impressions

Played 20 minute game vs Groningen. I had 6 fouls to their 5. Scored off a fk (for the first time) won 2-0. Hell of a game. CPU missed 2 shots inside the box.

I finally held a really good club (Barca) in check on Top Player and I am a guy who struggles on Regular at times [emoji12]. Barca had 18 shots on goal, but only 10 on target...finally! Ended up in a 2-2 draw with me using Real Madrid.

I'm finally figuring out how to play some defense in this game. In PES14 and 15, I used to get owned on a regular basis by the CPU.

Despite lack of licenses do commentators still say the names of premier league players?

And can someone explain what master league is exactly? Is it like FIFA career mode?

On the fence about which one to go for this year.

Yes they say the players and will say the team names if you change them in Edit.
Team names is dead easy to do its a little frustrating if the team name isnt in the data base tho but its not many who dont.

Yes ML is their version of career mode.

Do they have Dortmund in the game yet or is it still exclusive to EA?

they don't say any team names in mine. I tried changing the city but not every team is in there.

The issue with ai defense is a game breaker for me. It just seems its too easy to beat the cpu off the dribble and then run into the box unchallenged. If it wasn't for this issue, would be a great game.

I would go out on a limb and venture to say that most of those complaints are from people who are either not very good at the game or play with assists on...

Yeah, have played PES forever, and I know I'm a good player, and this game is amazing. I haven't played a ton of singe player matches so far, maybe 10 or so, most my games have been in myClub recently against VS. Waiting for Konami to grow up and give us squad updates before starting a proper ML.

Matt, I watched a little of your feed last night i thought the defense looked outstanding from what i saw, playing tight to their mark and really limiting the space. The one time the Centre half jumps in front of an attacker with a slide tackle really stood out i just haven't seen that much commitment in the X1 demo at all.

I didn't pay much attention really to the set up you did as it was late . Did you do anything in particular?
I saw in another thread changing to few on attack and D but thought i saw you with it on medium.
Any conclusions on this?
I would normally have this game by now but bestbuy insists on only getting 1 copy in 4 stores around me. By the time i get it online or search more Fifa will be in and im afraid i may not even get it for a while if that's the case as Fifa is really good also.
It will be the first time ever i don't get both on release which is not right as they both are awesome from the demos for me.

Hey JimmyD - I am just tuned in this morning. I had some real issues with streaming earlier on there, it was a bit frustrating. Thankfully I started to figure that part out - then found out that my original tactic idea of (in/out numbers few/few) wasn't flying. Here is what I posted in the sim settings thread, and the video to go along with it:

FF: On
In Numbers: "Few"
Out Numbers: "Medium"

Defensive Line: HIGHEST (bar filled all the way)
Compactness: LOWEST (bar least filled all the way)

The defensive line does not get caught with balls over the top when the In Numbers are FEW, but they do when it's on Medium or higher. It's similar to PES 14 and FIFA 15 actually where the defensive line drops back so far, due to man marking, that it removes any chance of solidifying the top of the box, or even the 6-yard box. This is going to my "default" set up unless something better occurs. It's the simplest way to use as a base - and takes the least time to modify before each game.

The advantages of being on the PC is that there is a free-side select tool that I use in the video below, which allows me to switch to the CPU's team and adjust their tactics, without having to go into edit mode and go through that. Yay for PC
