Couple of questions for a PES newcomer - player editing and growth

Is it possible/easy to edit individual players in this game? Like slight tweaks such as changes in hair colour, or slight tweaks to skin colour?

As I generally always start a career of some kind with Brentford, one thing that always really puts me off about PES is how neglected the lower league teams are. So for example, judging by http://www.pesmaster.com/, this year a lot of Brentford (or 'Hounslow') players just look wrong - brown haired players having blonde hair, a ginger guy has dark brown hair etc., so these are things I'd really need to change to feel any sense of immersion - is that possible? If it is, is it quite straightforward?

Similarly, how does player growth work in PES these days? I've not had one since PES 2010, so I'm not sure what they do now. Is it similar to FIFA where players have a potential that they'll almost definitely eventually meet? Or is it a little more random with PES and depends purely on how well they play?

for guys without scanned faces (in Brentfords case, probably none of them have) there's an editor you can use in edit mode to change hair, face, skin colour, boots etc

You can make changes even when playing master league. just exit out, go to edit and make changes and save the edit data, and reload master league, and the appearance changes will be made.

Brilliant, that's just about all I'd need to be able to change the game - for my team to at least be representative of their real life counterparts.

Yeah I remember in the last editions I was always so excited to start a master league, but no option file since I´m on X1. I still started it and through the next couple days I was editing team/player names on the fly.

willy, you're a gem on these PES forums, thanks!

while we're on the topic of what's possible with editing - can I edit my youth player names in my master league? I hate...so much...the names they end up giving me for players. I get seriously OCD about this and it's bad in FIFA, probably bad in PES. Do I have any options here or will I be stuck with crap names?

Yes, that is new this year.

Not only can you edit the youth players but the fake teams in ML are now outside in the team edit area.

So real teams only in ML with that feature. Once you edit all the fake teams of course.

One thing (of many) that I hated about FIFA career mode was that you couldn't edit youth players. You see a LB with amazing attacking stats befitting a striker.

So basically I could edit the players to resemble youth players from my supported team. Awesome.

You can train players at other positions and they will learn them. I've never tried to turn a LB into a ST though, mostly because in PES the youth players will have stats that correlate to their positions.

it goes by quickly if you use a windows 10 pc connected to your xbox. I went to team list, copy, paste in word, highlight, shift+f3 to capitalize, copy, paste into the text field in the xbox app. Once you get into the flow of it you are able to knock out all teams quickly. I got through renaming all the European generic players too.

one note, if the generic national team player is a duplicate of a real player in the game, they do not show in master league so you don't have to worry about having duplicate players. One thing I see a lot of people do is do national team selection and replace them with the real player. however then data packs or now live updates will update back to the generic player on each team. to avoid that just do base copy, which essentially copies the name and look of the original player. that way live updates don't have you going back through replacing all the players again.
