Can someone help me with advanced and manual shooting?

I know that with advanced shooting, you can basically aim to 6 different places,
ie. left stick up right -> upper left corner
left stick up left -> bottom left corner

But with manuals, how can you decide whether to aim up/down?
And if you choose manuals from data profile, do you still have to use L2 while shooting?

With manual shooting, the height of your shot is determined by how much power you put into it -- ie. the longer you hold the shot button, the higher your shot will go.

And yes, you still have to hold L2 in order to aim your shot on manual. If you don't, the shot will go in whichever direction the player is facing when he takes the shot.

Guys how do you select what subs you want to be in a match? I know how to sub people in and out in a game, but I want to choose who's on my sub squad when going in.

Can someone help?

It's a close control dribble that can help you get out of tight spots.







It's contextual meaning that it will only trigger at specific times. IMO it needs to be mapped to a button for user input.

I think if you double click the sprint you can engage it manually.

Ad-hoc intro. I am Alan and used to write/podcast/playtest for WENB between 2010 and 2013. Reality of life took over somewhat and found myself taking a step back from the community for a couple of years. PES2017 has me posting about PES again.

RE: pressing the manual button then dribbling. Yeah, that was pretty much the discussion I had with Adam a few years back. It could very well be a placebo thing and to be honest I haven't brought into my play too much as yet, but I do think that if you have the guide on when dribbling it does help a wee bit helping to protect the ball as it essentially shows where your player will face. It isn't a complete solution to shielding, and the game could do with one, but only if the learn the lessons as to how not to implement one as FIFA17 is showing.

Anyway, hello all and will hopefully look to post here a little more in future.

It helps TREMENDOUSLY. Holding the "Manual Controls" button down while dribbling gives defenders pause because they are basically looking for you to make a pass. I don't even think it's particularly OP because without that ability, defenders just dive in and nick the ball without mercy.

Having said that, I only wish I could get my BAL teammates to use this ability FFS!

You have to go to the select sides menu, then you will see the option. On the PS4, it's the square button.

I just found out if you hold R1/RB while taking a penalty it will show you where the ball is going to go. Can't believe I didn't realize this earlier lol.

I love having option files in PES 2017 but prefer the high scoring of PES 2016. How can I adjust 2017 to have 2016 play?
