Re: FIFA or PES ?
I've been a FIFA fan since 96 or so and if I'm not mistaken, I must have had every year (excluding some world cup, etc editions). In 2000s there were a few years I was playing more PES (Winning 11 at the time) than FIFA. After 09 or 10 version, I was just heavily FIFA (when they started introducing improving physics every year and better manual controls).
I played FIFA 17 for a few months and the latter 75% of that duration was forcing myself to find something to like or tolerate the crap I was seeing. And finally after seeing the gameplay and option file capabilities on PS4, I switched to PES17. And I haven't looked back once. I do not miss a single thing (ehh maybe a few small stuff) from FIFA. I love PES much better.
But there are a few annoying things in PES as well, but it's well worth it.PS4: hedache0

Re: FIFA or PES ?
I play fifa every year because of EA access but not for long. I think I still have 7 hours left on my trial haha.
I bought pes 17 for some reason not sure what I was thinking even. I'm really not even into soccer. I could count on one hand the names of any players I know.
Turns out I discovered an absolute gem of a game. Master league is so amazing I can't stop playing it.

I prefer Fifa with a realistic sliders. The first touch error is very important, adds a lot of freedom to the ball, its more unpredictable, more "simulator". And also with the sliders of pass-shot error, marking, goalkeeper hability,... you can humanize the cpu and set to your personal preference.Comment

Haven't played FIFA in a long while but first touch error is a cool concept. I've said that PES plays the best in bad weather and this is probably because it's slightly more unpredictable. Ditto for matches against really physical teams or in derbies.
One thing I really like about PES is I don't have to mess with sliders. It's too bad most games don't pre-load a "simulation/realistic" vs "default/arcade" set of sliders. I know the folks here do a ton of work, but they could spend all that time actually on game modes

Re: FIFA or PES ?
With Fifa 2013 to 2015, I felt like they played great once I found the right balance with sliders .... however with 2016 .... I wasted so much time trying to find even a decent slider setting (and yes I checked all the forums on here etc ... it was as if speed ratings of players held no bearing on the game and all that mattered was sliders) and I never got anything to work. Fifa 2016 was so broken, it ranks among my worst game purchases of all time.I prefer Fifa with a realistic sliders. As a result this year I purchased PES 2017. I am on my 4th season and love it, I just wish they added in a few more leagues even if they made them dummy teams and not licensed teams. In some of the older Fifa's, for like Polish league etc ..., they used names of cities and made up logos and players, i'd rather have it and the option to edit it then not have the leaugue structure at all.Comment

Re: FIFA or PES ?
I have both, but this year I prefer, for first time, pes. FIFA is better for presentation, has a lot of modality, the journey is a great idea and so on, but on the pitch pes is better: more realistic, more difference between teams and between players, best IA, best phisic.
I've more fun with pes and this is what matters.

Re: FIFA or PES ?
This is a loaded question because it's being asked in a pes forum, of course you will get pes as the answer, if you preferred fifa why would you be looking around a pes forum?
That being said I may be the only one that suggests fifa, I started out this year on pes and it is absolutely a lot of fun, you won't go wrong if you end up with pes, my only issue was that I prefer to play online games instead of against the CPU and when it comes to playing people the only way I was conceding was from crosses. I personally couldn't figure out how to stop it but that was my biggest gripe, other than that it is an absolute blast.
Fifa this year I feel like you get rewarded more for playing smart and controlling possession, but that could just be because of the tactics I use.
If you enjoy playing the CPU I'd go pes, if you enjoy online play I'd go fifa, fifa also has more traffic for online so it's easier to find a game that's close in skill level.
