Re: PES 2018 Trailer From Gamescom

PES has such beautiful moments, but the dribbling still looks exactly the same to me, which is a bummer.  I really like the skill moves, but there's just something about the way the guys move and turn that I've never liked, and I just don't feel like the ball tangibility is ever quite right either when dribbling.

FIFA has plenty of faults of its own, but one thing I've always loved about that game is that I can really feel every touch, and  I also feel like I have better control of my pace.  Sometimes in PES I feel like my guys are stuck in quicksand when I try to burst, and then when I want to slow down the guys still look like they're running.  Did they not add walking animations this year?

Did you try the beta this year? Dribbling is a lot more improved IMO and I felt the animations look really great especially with how great the ball physics are. That quicksand feeling was something I felt in Pes 17 a lot but with this years version speed really matters a lot more.

Also what I always liked about PES is how different each player feels when it comes to dribbling.

Omg. So much Milan in that trailer. Great likeness of Hakan as well. Might give this year's a shot. Liked what I saw there

No, haven't played the beta.  Looking forward to the demo, glad to hear that they've improved in that area.  Do you know whether the walking animations were included?

PES is, in my opinion, the better game this year.  I love the animations and it looks real and life-like.
When the game is on the line, winners want the ball.

So slower defenders won't chase down faster forwards?

Just a cosmetic observation, I like PES and FIFA so no bias and I have bought every version of both games since I have been able to buy games.

I did not feel this with the beta, but watching this video, why does it look like all the players are large faces/heads with their body attached. Maybe it's the uncanny valley thing but something looks strange. Like it looks like the face is stuck on the player, something is off with the face size, all of them look oversized slightly.

I mean it has zero impact on the gameplay. It just looks a bit off.

Speaking for myself I didn't experience any slow defender tracking down a faster player during the beta.

I felt the exact same way when they first released the E3 trailer back in June and like someone mentioned on here it is mostly likely due to them making the players body types look more realistic. When watching videos it does look a bit off but like you mentioned when I was playing the beta on my TV it really don't notice it.

Hard to say since no of us have played the demo but I was able to pull away from slower defenders on the beta with pacey guys like Neymar, Dembele, etc...

PES sprint mechanic is defiantly harder to master than FIFAs because of the button configuration.

the dribbling is one of the best parts if not the the best of the game in the beta I played. It's really awesome! It's sooo enjoyable for me the way it should be... I hope they don't change anything in relation to the dribbling from the beta. I love it!

can't wait to try this demo as I'm really missing the PES 2018 beta gameplay. I really hope much isn't changed from it unless if it's little tweaks for things for the better.
